- Based on a well-written but at the time controversial novel by Marie Pujmanova, "A patient of Dr.Hegla" is a melodrama about a daughter from a good family who falls in love with a happily married older man. Emancipated and brave, she becomes a single mother.

Orlický had only a vague idea of Ada's existence, but he remembered them thanks to his picture in the newspaper. Orlický has no idea that Ada is in fact a girl who only performs on stage in a man's costume. And that she falls in love with Rísa.
