- Randall and Hopkirk are detective partners with a difference: one of them is a ghost.
- Thirty years previously Marty's father, a policeman, was responsible for the death of a villain called Sidney Crabbe. Now Sidney's ghost has been accidentally re-awakened, and is seeking revenge by going after Marty. In the resultant exchange Jeff is shot and, in his brief time as a ghost, before his revival, he is able to prevent Crabbe from pushing his partner into a flaming pit.
- Lauren Dee asks Jeff to locate her husband who went missing in a little village near Preston Storkney called Hadell Wroxted. When Jeff and Marty arrive there they are amazed that everybody can actually see Marty. This is because they are ghosts from a past era and the pair have been led into a trap. Wyvern realises that only Jeannie can save them. . .
- Private eyes Randall and Hopkirk are investigating two-timing husband Kenneth Crisby as Marty Hopkirk prepares for his marriage to Jeannie Hurst. Performance artist Gordon Stylus also seeks their help as he believes his wife is suicidal. Marty is killed when a car, apparently driven by Mrs. Stylus, sweeps them both over a cliff. The killer is, in fact, Crisby and Marty's ghost comes to Jeff Randall's aid when Crisby threatens him. However, Marty is destined to remain a ghost with only Jeff being able to see him.
- Meredith Hortweldine secures the services of Jeff and Jeannie because he suspects his twin brother Jasper is plotting to kill him. Jasper has the same notion about Meredith and employs a rival detective duo called Marshall and Snellgrove. A bomb explodes, killing Meredith and Snellgrove, the latter's ghost teaming up with Marty to unmask the murderer. Marty also discovers that he was claimed before his time and that another Martin Hopkirk should have died in his stead.
- 2000–200150m7.5 (36)TV EpisodeMarty is taught the tricks of the after-life, such as how to levitate objects, by an elderly ghost called Wyvern. Jeannie, meanwhile, who has taken an active role in the agency, is concerned for Jeff when he is overheard talking to Marty. She has him seek psychiatric aid from Dr. Lawyer, but he is a crook who hypnotises his clients into committing crimes for him. When he realises that Jeff is in contact with Marty he erases Marty from Jeff's memory, so Marty impersonates the doctor's voice and advises Jeff on how to thwart the next crime.
- Jeff and Jeannie visit the remote and forbidding Strait Isle off the Scottish coast to investigate the death of a young gay man, who was working on a project at the local brewery. Jeff is on anti-biotics and refuses a glass of the local brew but Jeannie experiences a very strange reaction when she drinks it. It turns out that an excess of the stuff has a serious effect on the sexuality of those who imbibe it. (Note: In this episode many characters are named after South Devon villages.)
- After an undercover agent is killed by a poison with a very delayed reaction government men ask Jeff and Jeannie to investigate a secret research laboratory built under a golf course. It is run by Colonel Anger,seemingly a harmless eccentric who is reconstructing a portion of the Amazonian rain-forest in his office but Jeff and Jeannie, joined by shape-shifting Marty discover that the team is also working on a new drug, Niarol. It can delay the effects of pain and illness indefinitely and, in theory, could be used to attain immortality.
- Ex-government employee and whistle blower Douglas Milton plans to reveal matters of international security at a forthcoming world conference. He has had a dream in which he foresees his own death and so he hires Jeff and Jeannie as his security. In the event there are several groups out to kill him but they end up killing each other instead. Meanwhile Marty perfects a means of literally raising the wind.
- 2000–200150m7.5 (24)TV EpisodeFreya Cargill, an old flame of Jeff's, asks for his help in investigating the death of her father, an archaeologist. There are plenty of eccentric suspects at the museum where he worked as well as the Bog People, the remains of a family perfectly preserved in peat bog for thousands of years but with an apparent life of their own. Jeff gets on the trail of stolen artefacts the theft of which were blamed on Professor Cargill while Marty has to take time off from minding a new ghost called Nesbit to help out.
- 2000–200150m6.7 (26)TV EpisodeJeannie's young nephew Daniel is troubled by events at his boarding school following the death of a teacher,Mr. Dawkins. Jeff and Jeannie investigate by securing work at the school, respectively as teacher and nurse. The military style headmaster Captain Graves turns out to have a hand in the skulduggery and Jeannie and Jeff are helped by the pupils, as well as Marty, in overcoming him.
- Jeff answers a call for help from former secretary Felia Siderova, a Latvian woman, whose husband and infant son have gone missing. Following the trail back to Latvia, Randall and Hopkirk and Jeannie discover that Felia's husband has been killed and that her son has been taken by a cult who believe him to be the reincarnation of an ancient war lord called Butranekh. In his efforts to track down the gang Jeff is caught, along with porn actress Pola Dawn, and taken to the cult's headquarters. It's in situations like these that Marty's help is most appreciated.
- 2000–200150m8.1 (23)TV EpisodeStuart Boyle, who was at school with Jeff, is puzzled by a letter supposedly from his father - who has been dead for some years - asking him to meet him at the Boyle family's department store, which closed when the old man died. He meets Jeannie at the store but it has been taken over by murderous shop window dummies who threaten them. Jeff and Marty arrive to save them but have a disagreement which ends up with Marty getting stuck in a limbo inhabited by ghosts who have fallen out with their nearest and dearest and who try to prevent him from getting back to the store to save his friends.
- 2000–200150m7.7 (27)TV EpisodeHotelier Virginia Carpenter calls in Jeff and Jeannie to investigate the macabre, mysterious deaths of two of her guests, an event which has caused the hotel to be visited by other interested parties. Margaret is an eccentric medium, Whale a self-satisfied ghost hunter and Lewton a has-been reporter out for a story to kick start his career. Jeannie gets possessed by the ghost of a woman who died in the building fifty years earlier and her boyfriend is all set to inhabit Jeff so that they can both live again.Fortunately Marty is there to save them. (Note: All the main characters are named after horror directors.)
