- Summer-camp high jinks.
- Since Commander Wivenhoe has the only real bathtub for miles, and the leader of Camp Devine, Eulalia Devine, desperate to use it,orders the girls to steal it. The men of Runamuck mount a guerrilla raid across the lake to the girl's camp to retrieve it back again.
- Constantly aggravated and feeling he should have a better job, Spiffy decides to quit.
- While Spiffy begins working in his uncle's antiquated business, the men at Camp Runamuck finds he was what held them all together.
- Steady rain seemingly cancels Parent's Day, but when one camper's parents arrive they struggle to entertain them.
- Little Maureen hates the feminine pastimes at Camp Devine, and sneaks over to Runamuck to join in the male events, disguised as a boy. She's caught and sent back, but she keeps coming back until they make the boy's camp unappealing to her by pursuing girl activities like knitting, fudge baking and artistic dancing. Unfortunately, the camp examiners choose this moment for an inspection.
- The girls at Camp Divine are made off limits to the boys. Commander Wivenhove would like to make the situation permanent.
- After a heated argument with the leader of the girl's camp, Commander Wivenhoe must beg her forgiveness when he learns her approval will get him a membership in a country club he seeks. She will, but first he and his counselors must participate in an amateur theatre production wearing silly costumes.
- As one group of boys finish their stay, the counselors prepare to enjoy a day off. However, a rainstorm leaves them camp-bound. They spend their time reading books that inspire daydreams, and we see Spiffy in a cowboy shootout, Wivenhoe encountering space aliens, Doc in a WWI fighter plane, and Pruett meeting Amazon cannibals.

- Pruett eats some of Malden's mushroom souffle and then falls seriously ill. He becomes convinced he has been poisoned by the meal.
- To get his flabby, uninspired staff into shape, Commander Wivenhoe hires "The World's Champion Camper", one Arnold Benedict, to do the job. unfortunately, he turns out to be a dictator and relentless, insufferable perfectionist, causing more discontent than ever.
- Malden falls madly in love with a manicurist and the camp counselors are happy for him. But Malden boasted to his girlfriend that he is the camp commander, and she's coming for a visit.
- Short of money, the camps decide to let some of their counselors go. But, with an upcoming inspection they resort to desperate measures to meet the mandated counselor/camper ratio.
- Spiffy seems to be in constant conflict with the women at Camp Divine. He decides to study Oriental philosophy as way to find inner peace but his co-workers find it odd.
- During the off season, Commander Wivenhoe decides the only way he can make money is to turn Runamuck into an old folk's retreat.
- The girls at Camp Divine pretend to be sick to get the boys to do their chores. It works temporarily but when the male campers figure it out they decide to get revenge.
- Just as the Commander issues stock in the camp to the counselors. they find it's being slowly destroyed by a termite infestation. They also find that an exterminator charges too much, but Caprice thinks she knows a way they can do the job themselves for cheap. Unfortunately, her chemical mixture instead causes the camp to physically shrink to doll-house size.
