Then Rajesh is assaulted by some men and his mother, Shanti, attends to look after him. It is her presence that will not only unleash a dark secret from their past, which included a murder, but also lead to another homicide.

- Karan Singh, the younger scion of a wealthy zamindar (heriditary land owners) who lives in feudal splendour. While greed for the inherited property and petty jealousy weave their web of malice the love of this amorous couple has to pass the litmus test of suspicion. Reduced to rags and a hovel, Savithri, her parents and siblings eke out a miserable life while maintaining their high moral and ethical standards. Is Karan and Savithri's love strong enough to survive the turbulence of high society expectations, greed, poverty and intrigue?
- Mangal Singh (Rajesh Khanna) has been a career criminal, whose criminal career began to steal food and to keep from starving, and thence got him in deeper and deeper in the criminal world. His crimes have caught up with him and he is sentenced to be hanged. He dramatically escapes with the help of underworld don, Suraj (Pinchoo Kapoor), and is on the run from the police. He lands up in a small village in Northern India, and becomes a school-teacher with the help of local restauranteur, Bijli (Mumtaz). He takes on the identity of Ramu, a friend of Shravan, and goes to live with Shravan's parents, Lalaji (Om Prakash) and Malti (Nirupa Roy), little knowing that they are the parents of a man he killed while escaping from the police.

Emotions come to the boil and tragedy results. Fortunately, for all concerned, another birth awaits them......
- When Criminal Investigating Officer, Amarnath is murdered during the line of duty; Intelligence suspect it is the handiwork of foreign criminals who wants to destroy India with the help of some Indian traitors thus secret agent, Gopal is sent down to investigate. Gopal does manages to find a lead in this case and work together with the help of Amarnath's sister, Kamla in locating some incriminating photographs that clearly shows a car registration number. He meets and fall in love with Sunita who then introduces him to her dad, Damodar. Gopal also find out that Damodar is a mere pawn in the hands of the same criminals he is looking for and must continue his investigation to reach the mastermind.

There is an abundance of campy seventies beatnik wear and music, plenty of one-on-ten hero fights, and the mandatory twist at the end of the story.
