- Bethany lives an unfortunate life. A prostitute and drug addict she follows exactly the same migration pattern as her mother. A slave to heroin and to her punters, she is not alive but merely exists for her next fix. We follow her melancholy decline to the last moment of her life. Working Girl is not just a short film about a young woman languishing in the gutter of life. It is a study of how truly easy it is to become trapped in a recurring nightmare of social disease. It is meant to inspire those who have themselves been or know of people caught in lethal ever decreasing circles.
