- Northwest Medical Teams, which is now Medical Teams International worked with KATU in Portland, Oregon for several years to produce a December telethon to raise funding for this emergency medical response team. NWMT has sent teams all around the world to respond to wars and natural disasters. The telethon was the main way the raised funding for their missions.
