- CreatorJosh FriedmanStarsLena HeadeyThomas DekkerSummer GlauSet after the events in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Sarah Connor and her son, John, try to stay under-the-radar from the government, as they plot to destroy the computer network, Skynet, in hopes of preventing Armageddon.Preserving Terminator's good name by wiping #3 from the record. Lead by 4 amazing actors, Summer Glau being the best this show was VERY prematurely canceled. Rarely to I ever lament the death of a show but in this case I find it disgusting. We never got a real ending, or anything resembling a conclusion. BRING IT BACK!
- CreatorPaul AbbottStarsDavid ThrelfallRebecca AtkinsonAlice BarryThe lives and relationships of a group of siblings and their estranged father Frank Gallagher on a rough Manchester estate.I love this show so much I run the Wiki. Slowly going down hill but still an amazing show, so funny and sad and touching and true. Just spot on with average British life. The Us remake is terrible, they were so lazy with it they barely changed a thing and still managed to screw it up.
- CreatorChris CarterStarsDavid DuchovnyGillian AndersonMitch PileggiTwo F.B.I. Agents, Fox Mulder the believer and Dana Scully the skeptic, investigate the strange and unexplained, while hidden forces work to impede their efforts.Do I really need to? Who alive and of sound mind does not know what the X Files is? Or how it pushed the envelope and became the Internet's first real success story. Did go down hill in the later series, Mulder's departure and Scully occasional visits in the higher numbered series ruined it for me, along with the terrible character's that took over the X Files.
- CreatorSydney NewmanStarsJodie WhittakerPeter CapaldiPearl MackieThe further adventures in time and space of the alien adventurer known as the Doctor and his companions from planet Earth.Yeah, technically it's from the 60's, and as much as I love the original show, I can't get enough of Doctor Who. Time travel, space, aliens, horror, River Song, comedy, it has it all.
Favorite Doctor: David Tennant
Favorite Companions: #1 Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) #2 Amy Pond (Karen Gillan)
Favorite Character of all: RIVER SONG. - CreatorJoss WhedonStarsSarah Michelle GellarNicholas BrendonAlyson HanniganA young woman, destined to slay vampires, demons and other infernal creatures, deals with her life fighting evil, with the help of her friends.I actually discovered this last year. Obviously I knew of it's existence as do a hell of alot of people, but I always watched Charmed over it. Then while struggling for something to watch I remembered how it'd been described as a cross between Charmed and the X files and I have to say, I love it. The quality slips in the later seasons but it's still of a high standard. That Joss Whedon eh? Will he ever fail to impress me? Oh wait, he did, Firefly was not my thing at all.
- CreatorDavid GreenwaltJoss WhedonStarsDavid BoreanazCharisma CarpenterAlexis DenisofThe vampire Angel, cursed with a soul, moves to Los Angeles and aids people with supernatural-related problems while questing for his own redemption.Obviously right up there with Buffy, but Angel has always had that more adult quality. The character of Fred (Doctor Saunders in Dollhouse) made this show for me, and later Illyria. The show goes a little haywire in Season 3 and 4 in my opinion, obviously mixed with great episodes but the over arching "big bad" story was of a strangely low standard. But the show surpasses itself in it's final season, which was amazing.
- CreatorBrad FalchukRyan MurphyHalley FeifferStarsLady GagaKathy BatesAngela BassettAn anthology series centering on different characters and locations, showcasing different aspects of horror.
- StarsJennifer SaundersJoanna LumleyJulia SawalhaThe wild misadventures of Edina "Eddy" Monsoon and her best friend Patsy Stone, who live in a nearly constant haze of drugged, drunken selfishness.I have loved this show since I was so so young. Patsy is everything I want to be in life. She's loud and brash and funny and nasty and sex mad, she smokes like a chimney and drinks like a sailor and does more drugs than Jagger. A truly classic TV show and it's coming back this year (2011) for a 20 year special!! :D
- StarsSimon PeggJessica HynesJulia DeakinFriends Tim and Daisy, 20-something North Londoners with uncertain futures, must pretend to be a couple to live in the only apartment they can afford.Amazingly funny and British, with incredible characters that are both believable and brilliantly bizzare. Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright technically began their success here and later went on to Shaun of the Dead and the amazing Hot Fuzz. But Spaced's co-writer/creator (with Pegg) Jessica Hynes neé Stevenson never quite made it with them sadly, beyond playing a bit role in Shaun of the Dead she seems to have chosen family over "breaking America", which is fair but sad because she's amazing.
- CreatorI. Marlene KingStarsTroian BellisarioAshley BensonLucy HaleFour friends band together against an anonymous foe who threatens to reveal their darkest secrets, while also investigating the disappearance of their best friend.Another newer show. Also another show that shows just how much I can show my sexuality at times lol. Pretty Little Liars is superb, one of the few shows I love that has no effects or similar, just good drama with occasional action. It even got me onto the books which are also amazing, just quite different.
- CreatorKevin BiegelBill LawrenceStarsCourteney CoxChrista MillerBusy PhilippsFollows the escapades and relationships of a group of neighbors living in Gulfhaven, Florida.Cougar Town (yeah yeah, it has a terrible name that doesn't describe it at all) is basically Scrubs, but better. Alot of people avoid it because the name makes it sound like something different, but it's pure awesome comedy drenched in wine. The recent (2012) episodes aren't up to the usual standard at the moment but I love this show. If you liked Scrubs, you WILL like this.
- CreatorJ.J. AbramsAlex KurtzmanRoberto OrciStarsAnna TorvJoshua JacksonJohn NobleAn F.B.I. agent is forced to work with an institutionalized scientist and his son in order to rationalize a brewing storm of unexplained phenomena.I have only just discovered Fringe recently. I never liked Lost, which was made by a lot of the same people, but this show is a brilliant mix of The X-Files and any good investigation show. Similar to Supernatural like show but without anything REALLY supernatural, it's all science related, fringe science (aka pseudo science). It can be a confusing show if you let your mind wander but it does mystery so well and hasn't disapointed me yet.
- CreatorJoss WhedonStarsEliza DushkuHarry LennixFran KranzA top secret organization erases the identities of attractive young people, turning them into blank "dolls" ready for imprints of temporary identities they need to fulfill assignments for clients.Has a bad reputation on the web. People put down Eliza Dushku's acting skills and at the end of the day it failed. Personaly I think people couldn't get passed the whole slavery angle, especially where sex is concerned. And yes I'm aware of the rumours that Sarah Connor was canceled for this and if true that's sad, but they're both great shows, TSCC being rather better however.
- CreatorConstance M. BurgeStarsHolly Marie CombsAlyssa MilanoBrian KrauseThree Halliwell sisters discover that they are descendants of a line of good female witches and are destined to fight against the forces of evil, using their combined power of witchcraft known as the "Power of Three".Another rather well known entry, and another example of my obsession with fantasy, magic, sci-fi, aliens, time travel and the like. Went majorly down hill in the later seasons as do so many other shows but still an amazing show. Piper has and always will be my favorite character in Charmed aswell as being the character with the power's I'd most like to have.
- CreatorEric KripkeStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverTwo brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.Something I avoided for years, after watching small parts of it I thought it juvenile and rather sad. Eventually a friend annoyed me into watching it, from beginning to now, and I absolutely loved it. Sam Winchester is sexy as hell for one, Lilith as a child is some of the best TV I've ever seen. Just an all round, fun, intriguing ride.
- StarsVictoria WoodJulie WaltersCelia ImrieSketch-based show starring Victoria Wood, Dame Julie Walters, and many others. Included regular items such as "Acorn Antiques" with Julie as Mrs. Overall and a regular advice slot from Agony Aunt Kitty (Patricia Routledge).Classic show, began and finished a few years before I was even born but an ex boyfriend introduced me to it and I've loved Victoria Wood and Julie Walters since. Full of amazingly funny British comedy sketches, from the random and insane to the dry, sarcastic and insulting. Just amazing.
- StarsDawn FrenchJennifer SaundersSimon BrintComedy duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders satirically present aspects of British life, films such as Batman Forever and Pulp Fiction.Another British classic. The later series got kind of painful to watch but the majority of the show is amazingly funny, even today. Their musical and movie parodies are my favorite part of the show by far.
- CreatorDavid KohanMax MutchnickStarsEric McCormackDebra MessingMegan MullallyGay lawyer Will and straight interior designer Grace share a New York City apartment. Their best friends are gleeful and proud gay Jack and charismatic, filthy-rich, amoral socialite Karen.Karen Walker is one of my favorite characters in anything, ever. She is the biggest reason I love this show. Maybe a large part of why I love it is because it was the first time I saw gay men on TV that weren't always bitchy, feminine, the joke or trying to say homosexuality is wrong. It also had plenty of awesome guest stars, such as Cher and Madonna (who was hilarious) and was just the right kind of funny.
- CreatorGlenn Gordon CaronStarsPatricia ArquetteMiguel SandovalJake WeberSuburban mom Allison DuBois attempts to balance family life with solving mysteries using her special gift. The dead send her visions of their deaths or other crimes while she sleeps.Another Paranormal-esque show. Medium follows the life of Allison Dubois, the psychic who works with the District Attorney's Office and a Police Detective in Pheonix to solve crimes. Allison has general psychic feelings and impressions from people she meets, the off bit of lie detecting and mind reading along with visions but the bulk of her impressions come from her dreams, dreams sent by the dead that she can communicate with. Canceled before it's time and overly rushed to it's conclusion, Medium never had a bad season.
- CreatorMichelle LovrettaStarsAnna SilkKris Holden-RiedZoie PalmerWhen a succubus finds it difficult to adapt with her unusual traits inspite of being born in a human family, she sets off on a journey to find out the truth of her origin.Another supernatural show I love. Bo and Kenzie are my favorite gals on TV at the moment. It's full of sex (the main character being a Sucubus and all), action and mystery. The second season just ended but I cannot wait for more.
- CreatorJames Manos Jr.StarsMichael C. HallJennifer CarpenterDavid ZayasHe's smart. He's lovable. He's Dexter Morgan, America's favorite serial killer, who spends his days solving crimes and nights committing them.I discovered this incredibly late too, but now I watch it every week (despite being in the UK and therefor behind shhhh). I watched everything up until the last series over the course of days and then waited excitedly for this current series. Serial killers, blood, swearing, insane people, sociopaths, Darla (Buffy/Angel)/Marcy Foxx (Foxy [Jawbreaker]) etc. Basicaly my other weakness to magic and super powers, murder, but not in a CSI or Law and Order way.
- CreatorMarc CherryStarsTeri HatcherFelicity HuffmanMarcia CrossSecrets and truths unfold through the lives of female friends in one suburban neighborhood after the mysterious suicide of a neighbor. One of the few TV shows I love that advertises to the world that I am either a very gay guy or a secret middle aged woman. So very unlike most things I enjoy, Desperate Housewives is just so very full of drama and bitchyness that I could never resist.
Favorite Housewives: Gabrielle Solis and Bree Van De Kamp/Hodge - CreatorCecelia AhernDonald ToddStarsChristina ApplegateJennifer EspositoKevin DunnA woman suffers from amnesia and is forced to find out who she really is.This show had 2 awesome seasons before it was canceled (on a technical cliff hanger ending). It starred the brilliant Christina Applegate, known best as Kelly from Married With Children. One of the funniest US shows I have ever watched, but as usual, canceled WAY before it's time.
- CreatorFernando GaitánSilvio HortaStarsAmerica FerreraEric MabiusTony PlanaSmart but wholesome Betty embraces her unique appearance and independent attitude in the cutthroat world of New York fashion.Another forray into the gay/female fringe world. Ugly Betty and the amazingly bitchy world of Mode is possibly the best drama/comedy of the last few years. Plus it's whole value as the story of the ugly, poor girl who succeeds where the mean rich people fail. But one thing I loved about this show is how it wasn't the story of an ugly girl who nobody liked having a make over and becoming everyone's best friend. Yes, she had her braces off and plucked her eyebrows, stopped making as many bad fashion choices. But Betty didn't compromise who she was. This isn't She's All That or even The Devil Wear's Prada. I guess you could say Betty refines herself into a true better version of herself, rather than superficial make overs solve everything.
- CreatorBryan FullerStarsEllen MuthCallum BlueJasmine GuyAfter being hit on the head by a toilet seat that fell from Mir space station, a young temp clerk becomes a grim reaper in death.Dead Like Me follows the post death life of George Lass and her job as a Grim Reaper, charged with taking the souls of dead people after her own death by flaming toilet seat. Her co workers include the brilliant Betty (for a while) played by Rebecca Gayheart (who I loved in Jawbreaker), the crass and pill popping drunk Mason (Callum Blue sp?), the tough and formidable meter maid Roxy (Jasmine Guy), later the once almost film star who has fellated everyone ever Daisy (Laura Harris) and the boss of the gang Rube (Mandy Patinkin). George is also another character filled with sarcasm and cynicism that I can't help but relate to.
