As the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the rock band Daughtry, his band released a self-titled album under RCA in 2006 which reached number one on the Billboard chart in its ninth week of release. The band was also nominated for Best Rock Song for the single "It's Not Over" at the 50th Grammy Awards.
