- CreatorMichael SchurStarsKristen BellWilliam Jackson HarperJameela JamilFour people and their otherworldly frienemy struggle in the afterlife to define what it means to be good.2/5 (S2 1st Run) The show that begs the question, Where can they go with this? Well, they took things into wonderful and rich directions in season 2, while ted Danson delivered the best performance of his career.
- CreatorFred ArmisenCarrie BrownsteinJonathan KriselStarsFred ArmisenCarrie BrownsteinKyle MacLachlanA sketch-comedy series that parodies life in Portland, Oregon.2/20 (S7:1st time 8) Still fresh and funny in it's 8th season, Portlandia continues to be excellent because it's a sketch comedy approach to fully fleshed out characters. And the keen observations continue, with my personal favorite being Instant Trash skewing the type of low price products we buy that we instantly throw out or wind up in a draw.
- CreatorDuane CapizziBill FingerMichael GoguenStarsRino RomanoAlastair DuncanEvan SabaraBillionaire Bruce Wayne fights crime and evil as the mysterious Batman.2/21 (S1: 1st time 8) It's a kids cartoon, that I could not stop watching. And even though it gets way to punny, it's very entertaining, with a two-part season finale that is genuinely captivating.
- CreatorFred ArmisenBill HaderSeth MeyersStarsHelen MirrenFred ArmisenBill Hader"Documentary Now!" parodies the current obsession with documentaries. Season one features six different stories and stylistic approaches paying tribute to the doc format.2/22 (s2: 1st time 8) I might be a plus to know what they are parodying, but they are funny even when you don't. The Salesman homage Globes is amazing, and that two part Kids Stays in Pictures send-up is a masterpiece.
- CreatorDavid CraneJeffrey KlarikStarsMatt LeBlancStephen ManganTamsin GreigA couple of British TV producers move to Hollywood to export their most popular series, and find it is not what they expected.2/22 (S5: 1st time 7) It ends in a way that feels like something the creators came up with when they developed the pilot. Plus, with the short order (seven episode), Carol doesn't get a proper sendoff. That said, it's still funny, and the characters are still great, but it could have finished stronger.
- CreatorJames BobinJemaine ClementBret McKenzieStarsJemaine ClementBret McKenzieRhys DarbyBret and Jemaine are Flight of the Conchords, a folk-rock band from New Zealand living in New York City in search of stardom.2/28 (S2: 1st time 7) It feels like a good place to leave this often hilarious quirky little show. Even though it stayed fairly consistent, it spun it's wheel a bit in the story department.
- CreatorPete HolmesStarsPete HolmesGeorge BasilJamie LeeA New York comic is forced to make a new start for himself after his wife leaves him.3/1 (s1: 1st time 9) It's refreshing to see a Christian lead set in the middle of compromising positions. It's an honest look at faith that the faithful don't get involved with, which is why their movies suck.
3/20 (s2: 1st time: 8) Even though Pete's transition from naïve Christian to naïve reformed Christian is a little rough, watching the characters growth in comedy has been captivating. Also, the season finishes very strong, with definitive moments where we get to see him grow as a person through experience. - DirectorStan LathanStarsDave ChappelleDonnell RawlingsDave talks about not actually growing up in the projects, the hate he received from the transgender community, and from fake news.3/4 He's honest and effortless which is exactly what I want from my comedians.
- CreatorBryan FullerStarsHugh DancyMads MikkelsenCaroline DhavernasExplores the early relationship between renowned psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter and a young FBI criminal profiler who is haunted by his ability to empathize with serial killers.3/14 (S2: 2nd time: 10) It's really one of the best seasons of television ever. A bold, cinematic, no-holds-barred, uncompromising vision worthy of the praise it never received.
- CreatorArmando IannucciStarsJulia Louis-DreyfusTony HaleAnna ChlumskyFormer Senator Selina Meyer finds that being Vice President of the United States is nothing like she hoped and everything that everyone ever warned her about.3/18 (S4: 1st time: 8) This originally aired in 2015. My God, how quaint. What once would seem like satire is now where I wish we were. That is how much of a joke we've become. The show itself, still funny, just not as biting simply because I'm too late the party.
4/6 (S5 1st Time: 10) So tight (or narrow, if you'd prefer), and cleaver, and funny, and wonderfully vulgar - this is the best season of Veep yet. - CreatorDavid CraneMarta KauffmanStarsJennifer AnistonCourteney CoxLisa KudrowFollows the personal and professional lives of six twenty to thirty year-old friends living in the Manhattan borough of New York City.3/27 (S1: 1st Time: 6ish) It makes for solid background noise. It rarely makes me laugh. But the cast, who have all gone off to do things that are much, much better (sometimes), are charming. It's perfect viewing just beyond my tablet.
5/14 (S2: 1st time: 6) - CreatorChris CarterStarsDavid DuchovnyGillian AndersonMitch PileggiTwo F.B.I. Agents, Fox Mulder the believer and Dana Scully the skeptic, investigate the strange and unexplained, while hidden forces work to impede their efforts.3/31 (S11 :1st Run: 8) If you subtract the Carter aspects including the unbearable first episode, this is a very good, often great season that at times is able to recapture some of the magic of the early years.
7/5 (S2: 2nd Time:8) The pacing can be a bit mild, and some of the "lore" is overdone. But the appeal, and the chemistry is undeniable.
12/24 (S3: 2nd time: 8) - CreatorDavid AngellPeter CaseyDavid LeeStarsKelsey GrammerJane LeevesDavid Hyde PierceDr. Frasier Crane moves back to his hometown of Seattle, where he lives with his father and works as a radio psychiatrist.4/8 (s4 3rd time: 10)
8/15 (S5 3rd time:10) - CreatorAlex GansaHoward GordonStarsClaire DanesMandy PatinkinDamian LewisA bipolar CIA operative becomes convinced a prisoner of war has been turned by al-Qaeda and is planning to carry out a terrorist attack on American soil.4/9 (S5 1st time: 8)
6/5 (S6 1st Time: 9) - CreatorNatasha LeggeroRiki LindhomeStarsNatasha LeggeroRiki LindhomeArmen WeitzmanA mockumentary-style period piece comedy that follows members of the wealthy Bellacourt family and their servants in early 20th-century Newport, Rhode Island.4/9 (S2 1st time: 8)
- CreatorJohn AltschulerMike JudgeDave KrinskyStarsThomas MiddleditchT.J. MillerJosh BrenerFollows the struggle of Richard Hendricks, a Silicon Valley engineer trying to build his own company called Pied Piper.4/20 (S5 1st time: 10) It's not only consistently funny but it is also consistently genuine. It feels so real, so lived in, that i'm sure most of these stories were stolen off the hard drive of a tech guy's journal.
- DirectorRyan PolitoStarsBenji AllonbeIke BarinholtzSacha Baron CohenSeth Rogen hosts an evening of comedy to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease.4/27
- CreatorJack AmielMichael BeglerStarsClive OwenAndré HollandJeremy BobbA look at the professional and personal lives of the staff at New York's Knickerbocker Hospital during the early part of the twentieth century.5/1 (S1 1st time: 4) I know I'm in the minority on this one, but as cool as the cool can be, I never felt invested in any of it. It's why it took me years to get through this first season.
- CreatorIvan RaimiSam RaimiTom SpezialyStarsBruce CampbellRay SantiagoDana DeLorenzoAsh has spent the last thirty years avoiding responsibility, maturity, and the terrors of the Evil Dead until a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind and Ash becomes mankind's only hope.5/1 (S3 1st Run: 9) It will be sorely missed. There will never be anything else like it.
- CreatorSimon KinbergCarrie BeckDave FiloniStarsDave FiloniTaylor GrayFreddie Prinze Jr.The crew of the spaceship Ghost defends those who cannot fight for themselves against the Empire, providing the spark for a rebellion.5/6 (S1 1st Run:7) At it's worst it's your standard issue Saturday morning cartoon: fun and unexceptional. But at it's best, it's right up there and exceeds the movies.
- CreatorDonald GloverStarsDonald GloverBrian Tyree HenryLaKeith StanfieldEarn and his cousin, Alfred, try to make their way in the world through Atlanta's rap scene. Along the way they come face-to-face with social and economic issues touching on race, relationships, poverty, status and parenthood.5/10 (S2 1st Run: 9.7)
- CreatorDan GoorMichael SchurStarsAndy SambergStephanie BeatrizTerry CrewsComedy series following the exploits of Det. Jake Peralta and his diverse, lovable colleagues as they police the NYPD's 99th Precinct.5/21 (S5 1st Run: 9)

The pair make a connection and she persuades him to embark on a road trip in search of her real father.6/20 (S1 !st time: 8) A serial killer comedy by way of Wes Anderson, this gets more and more appealing as the series goes on.
- CreatorLisa JoyJonathan NolanStarsEvan Rachel WoodJeffrey WrightEd HarrisAt the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, waits a world in which every human appetite can be indulged without consequence.6/24 (S2 1st Run: 8)
