Editors' Picks: Our Favorite Things From the Week of Sept. 29 of 12
Standing Ovation of the Week
Earlier this week at the Venice Film Festival, the screening of Bradley Cooper's directorial debut, A Star is Born, was interrupted when lightning struck the building, causing the projector to fail. The audience took the 15-minute delay in stride, using the time to shower applause on stars Lady Gaga and Cooper, and their enthusiasm continued all the way to the end of the screening, when they responded with an eight-minute standing ovation. Early buzz on the film is good, and the chemistry between the two leads looks to be appropriately electric. We're anxious to see what kind of reception the film gets at its TIFF debut.
