"Arrow" Showrunner Hints at Dark Season 4 Turn — Exclusive6 of 7
Damien Darhk
Evil genius or misunderstood family man? "We really wanted to dimensional-ize our super villain this year, and one of the things we really love about Damien Darhk is that he does have a family, a family he cares about," says Mericle. "It operates like any family. The only difference is he and his wife are bent on taking over the world and burning it into the ground before they take over. So, it's a slight variation on 'Leave It to Beaver'." As the season picks up again, their plan is all about rethinking the strategy. "He really thought that both the Green Arrow and Oliver Queen — and he does not know they're one and the same — were going to be much easier to defeat than they have proven to be. He's going to have to recalibrate, and he's going to come back fighting very hard with some big surprises."
