- CreatorLauren MorelliStarsLaura LinneyElliot PagePaul GrossA middle-aged Mary Ann returns to San Francisco and reunites with the eccentric friends she left behind. "Tales of the City" focuses primarily on the people who live in a boardinghouse turned apartment complex owned by Anna Madrigal at 28 Barbary Lane, all of whom quickly become part of what Maupin coined a "logical family". It's no longer a secret that Mrs. Madrigal is transgender. Instead, she is haunted by something from her past that has long been too painful to share.More poignant than the predecessors, it's an almost perfect sequel, with outstanding performances and an absolutely awesome cast.
- DirectorFrancis LeeStarsJosh O'ConnorAlec SecareanuGemma JonesSpring. Yorkshire. Jack Thompson and Russel Crowe are a treat. (and any actor who claims his career was ruined by "playing gay" can shove it).
- DirectorRussell MulcahyStarsSigourney WeaverHenry CzernyRyan KelleyTrue story of Mary Griffith, gay rights crusader, whose teenage son committed suicide due to her religious intolerance. Based on the book of the same title by Leroy Aarons.Makes me wish every family in America would watch this true story of a fundamentalist mother coming to terms with her gay son's suicide. Sigourney Weaver and Dan Butler are outstanding.
- DirectorOlivier DucastelJacques MartineauStarsMario FanfaniGeoffrey CouëtFrançois NambotTwo men meet in a sex club, become entangled in a passionate embrace, and spend the night getting to know each other. Too bad for them. The scene of Kevin Kline listening to a tape to make him "macho" is the funniest bit ever. Shalom Harlow as a ditzy model trying to push a rotary phone is a close second.

- DirectorSergio Tovar VelardeStarsAntonio VelázquezAlejandro de la MadridCesar RamosFour stories of love and disgust between men of different generations facing their conflicts and their fearsThis was an unexpected pleasure. Four tales are beautifully interwoven and masterfully portrayed. The acting and the direction were flawless. It's not often a child's discovery of his gayness is handled with such honesty and grace, and at the other end of the spectrum, an old man's obsession with a hustler is treated with great humanity. I just loved the whole thing.

- DirectorJohn ButlerStarsFionn O'SheaArdal O'HanlonAmy HubermanNed and Conor are forced to share a bedroom at their boarding school. The loner and the star athlete at this rugby-mad school form an unlikely friendship until it's tested by the authorities. This is not your usual coming out tale, but I won't spoil the viewer's process of discovery. An unexpected treat, especially (out and proud) Andrew Scott's performance. Also, one of Nicholas Galitzine's early films.
- DirectorFrank RipplohStarsFrank RipplohBernd BroaderupOrpha TerminFrank Ripploh is a rascal: he is a shaggy-haired, bearded teacher who is gay and has a very active sex life plus an interest in making films. He keeps his personal life separate from his personal life, though sometimes he corrects student papers in public toilets as he waits to score. He cruises constantly. One evening, he meets Bernd and they become lovers. Bernd is attentive and caring, but Frank gets bored with him and continues his polymorphous perverse ways. How long will Bernd and Frank tolerate each other's habits, and how long can Frank keep his sexual orientation outside of the classroom? Things "come to a head" (no pun intended) during Berlin's annual Queen's Ball and the morning after. Not for every taste, and not for sharing with your folks... This tale of a sex-addicted schoolteacher captures the pre-AIDS frenzy of cruising for the next Mr. Right.

- DirectorNicholas HytnerStarsRichard GriffithsFrances de la TourClive MerrisonAn unruly class of gifted and charming teenage boys are taught by two eccentric and innovative teachers, as their headmaster pushes for them all to get accepted into Oxford or Cambridge. While not a "gay film" per se, the story revolves around a class of boys and a somewhat predatory teacher.
