- DirectorJean-Luc GodardStarsEddie ConstantineAnna KarinaAkim TamiroffA U.S. secret agent is sent to the distant space city of Alphaville where he must find a missing person and free the city from its tyrannical ruler. Its dated, really has no special effects and the acting is terrible. Perhaps with today's CGI, bigger budget and visionary directors like Terry Gilliam or Darren Aronofsky this cult film could become a mainstream hit!
- DirectorPeter YatesStarsKen MarshallLysette AnthonyFreddie JonesA prince and a fellowship of companions set out to rescue his bride from a fortress of alien invaders who have arrived on their home planet, Krull. With a terrible storyline that puts out more questions than answers (compounded by a silly, contrived ending), this lavishly produced flop could redeem its horrible reputation with a new script that makes sense!
- DirectorFrancis LawrenceStarsWill SmithAlice BragaCharlie TahanYears after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure. This movie is nothing like the novel it was based on. Take my word for it: the original book is probably the best vampire novel since Dracula so its a no-brainer if somebody, anybody would make a direct adaptation of it!
- DirectorPaul VerhoevenStarsCasper Van DienDenise RichardsDina MeyerHumans, in a fascist militaristic future, wage war with giant alien bugs. While Paul Verhoeven is a talented director, his satirical take on this movie was all wrong, and he left out the powered battlearmors which gave the movie its title! Do a more faithful adaptation, please!
- DirectorDavid LynchStarsKyle MacLachlanVirginia MadsenFrancesca AnnisA Duke's son leads desert warriors against the galactic emperor and his father's evil nemesis to free their desert world from the emperor's rule.Adapting a beloved sci-fi epic into a single two-hour movie was a complete disaster. In addition to truncating the story, a lot of liberties were taken and the bad casting choices (Kyle MacLachlan was awful as was Sting) doomed this big budgeted flop. It needs to be a 3 part movie epic and faithful to the novel it was based on.
- DirectorStanley KubrickStarsMalcolm McDowellPatrick MageeMichael BatesIn the future, a sadistic gang leader is imprisoned and volunteers for a conduct-aversion experiment, but it doesn't go as planned.Although a great movie for its time, it needs to be updated because the violence depicted back then is kindergarten stuff to what they do now!
- DirectorSimon WincerStarsBilly ZaneKristy SwansonTreat WilliamsThe Phantom, descendent of a line of African superheroes, travels to New York City to thwart a wealthy criminal genius from obtaining three magic skulls which would give him the secret to ultimate power. This classic comic book character needs a re-up with a better script and better villains. Treat Williams seems more of a used car salesman than a baddie in this turd.
- DirectorTobe HooperStarsSteve RailsbackMathilda MayPeter FirthA race of space vampires arrives in London and infects the populace, beginning an apocalyptic descent into chaos. You know the concept of vampires from space has a lot of potential- unfortunately the acting, the directing and the special effects were pretty bad, not to mention that the story wasn't really sure as to what it wanted to be. A good director and a tighter script could turn this into a blockbuster!
- DirectorOliver StoneStarsColin FarrellAnthony HopkinsRosario DawsonAlexander, the King of Macedonia and one of the greatest army leaders in the history of warfare, conquers much of the known world.Terrible casting (you know who) and a lackluster script doomed this movie despite having excellent battle scenes. Next time less whining and make it more epic, OK?
- DirectorBrian YuznaStarsMark FrostIsabel BrookJennifer RopeA man sells his soul to the devil to gain superpowers and avenge his girlfriend's brutal murder. When he realizes that the price is the soul of his new love interest, he turns on the devil.Needs to have a bigger budget, better actors and a better script, this could be the R-rated comic book hero of the ages!
- DirectorChris WeitzStarsNicole KidmanDaniel CraigDakota Blue RichardsIn a parallel universe, young Lyra Belacqua journeys to the far North to save her best friend and other kidnapped children from terrible experiments by a mysterious organization. As with all things a movie will flop if you are not true to the source material, Hollywood. So to remake this stick to the novel it was based on, okay?
- DirectorAlbert PyunStarsChristopher LambertIce-TMichael Halsey100 people, who have betrayed The Syndicate, are gathered in a prison opening the next day. They are given weapons and 6 hours to kill each other. The 3 remaining share $10,000,000.The premise is intriguing- put a whole group of criminals in a unused prison and let them kill each other. However the direction is shoddy and some of the actors just can't act. A better script, a better director and better actors could do wonders for this.
- DirectorKevin ReynoldsStarsJim CaviezelGuy PearceChristopher AdamsonA young man, falsely imprisoned by his jealous "friend", escapes and uses a hidden treasure to exact his revenge.Unfortunately the writer of this movie veered away and changed Dumas' original ending, thereby robbing the true message of what the whole book was about. Not to mention that the book also omits the Count's elaborate schemes of revenge and instead portrays him as just another killer out for vengeance.
Needs to be redone.
