Coming Soon (...or maybe not) to a Theater Near You
List containing interesting films which have been either announced, are in pre-production, filming has begun, or are in post-production. Some titles are clearly in "Development Hell", judging how long their status has been "Announced" or "Pre-production". Without a doubt some titles marked "Announced" are just lacking funding or suffering scheduling conflicts. Some titles' status on IMDb has not changed for years - and this can create a little bit of comedic effect. For example, "Becker's Farm" has been "Delayed" for well over 5 years. It's also likely that many of the titles on this list will never get any kind of status change. I wish that someone related to the production would bother to update their entries with "Cancelled" or "Abandoned", if this is the case.
However, it's good to keep in mind that there are quite a few examples of successful films having been "in the making" for more than a decade or even longer, then finally released and breaking box office records.
But then again, there are also quite a few films which have been announced as "completed", post-production finished - and then for a myriad of reasons have never been seen or heard since. Some of these titles have actually become "Lost". For example Marx Brothers' first ever film's rough cut was completed, screened one time only, and afterwards the only known negative burnt by the brothers themselves. Witnesses for the incident have described this as "correct decision". Film historians naturally do not agree.
