Top 10 UK Releases of 2015
It should be noted, as avid a film fan as I am, it is impossible to see everything that is released within the year. Therefore, this list is subject to later additions, but I can only go by what I have seen. If you think I'm missing something, do let me know!

- DirectorDamien ChazelleStarsMiles TellerJ.K. SimmonsMelissa BenoistA promising young drummer enrolls at a cut-throat music conservatory where his dreams of greatness are mentored by an instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student's potential.A passionate, adrenaline-fueled look at what it takes to be "one of the greats", and whether it is worth it. Exciting cinema, cut, at times, at a breakneck pace. Whilst, in certain areas, it lacks a little in meat, which I think would have been welcome, and it arguably becomes a little pedestrian in the second act, it nevertheless features one of the most explosive, cathartic final scenes of recent years, and that Oscar-winning performance from J K Simmons. It is also a film which is more ambiguous about its character motivations than you might expect; this is more than a hero/villain piece, more philosophical; it leaves you food for thought.
