2017 films from worst to best
Everyone knows how they feel after the suffrage of 2017 with celebraties doing stupid things and directors sexual harassing females (I'm looking at you Harvey Weinstein) starts to turn into a mad house all the way through, enough of that talk now let's get ready to rumble as I talk about every film that I've seen in 2017 starting from It's worst, and that film is...

- DirectorJonathan WrightStarsShane WestLeslie BibbMatt CravenOver 40 years since the infamous Zodiac killer terrorised inhabitants of San Francisco and surrounds, three people stumble across homemade films of some of his murders. They then set out to track him down.I laughed on how I missed over 30 minutes of the frickin' beginning and didn't even care about the rest of the entire film so I laughed my head off all of the last hour and then noticed that everything in Awakening the Zodiac does not work, It's unwatchable, has terrible lighting, acting plotholes and is without further ado my least favorite film of the year.
- DirectorAlex KurtzmanStarsTom CruiseSofia BoutellaAnnabelle WallisAn ancient Egyptian princess is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.Holy Moly, I can't stand on the way they had possibly had done all this without trying, Tom Cruise has been in some good movies... I should watch "American Made" Anytime soon, Of course the Dummy is my least favorite big budget snoozefest and is a messy start for a Monster Universe... Just die Already!
- DirectorNicholas McCarthyStarsScott FoleyDave AnnableJohn DomanThis is the true story of crime author Joe McGinniss's journey to write "Fatal Vision", a best-selling book about Jeffrey MacDonald, a Green Beret doctor who's accused of slaying his pregnant wife and two daughters in the early 1970s.No, I'm not gonna call Final Vision a movie at all, It's boring... Unpredictable and feels much longer than it is.
- DirectorDavid LoweryStarsCasey AffleckRooney MaraMcColm Cephas Jr.In this singular exploration of legacy, love, loss, and the enormity of existence, a recently deceased, white-sheeted ghost returns to his suburban home to try to reconnect with his bereft wife.Spoiler Alert: you'd see a woman eating pie for at least 5,000 seconds, that's how boring A Ghost Story is... but it does improve on keeping it surreal for it to be enough to make a good A24 independent flick.
- DirectorTomas AlfredsonStarsMichael FassbenderRebecca FergusonCharlotte GainsbourgDetective Harry Hole investigates the disappearance of a woman whose scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman. As soon as I first heard the news paper report giving this film 3 and a half stars I thought it can't be that bad, Michael Fassbender did try and it had potential, unfortunately I agree with the other critics on The Snowman and calling this one a disappointing excuse of a film.
- DirectorBenny BoomStarsDemetrius Shipp Jr.Danai GuriraKat GrahamTells the true and untold story of prolific rapper, actor, poet and activist Tupac Shakur.I don't wanna be racist or anything, but it's not their fault that All Eyez on Me was a disappointment... what they did get right with the film is the beloved Tupac working from one record to another, his death and the scenery, but what they got wrong is most of the editing which felt choppy, too long of a film based off one or two rappers, they could have started somewhere else and the main problem... It's boring and not very memorable.
- DirectorD.J. CarusoStarsVin DieselDonnie YenDeepika PadukoneXander Cage is left for dead after an incident, though he secretly returns to action for a new, tough assignment with his handler Augustus Gibbons.Originally xXx: Return of Xander Cage was suppose to be rewarded 6 out of 10, however... for the green screen being terrible and the effects being worse than you can probably expect in any action film I've ducted 2 stars which means this film only got 4 out of 10, the director should be ashamed.
- DirectorZack SnyderStarsBen AffleckGal GadotJason MomoaFueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his new-found ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. It was a 7 out of 10 until I dropped down 3 grades below to make it a most suitable number for one of the biggest disappointment and flops by the DC extended Universe after watching it the 2nd time, Justice League was my most anticipated film of the year... then it had problems.
- DirectorDavid AyerStarsWill SmithJoel EdgertonNoomi RapaceA detective must work with an Orc to find a powerful wand before evil creatures do.I could not remember the last recent film I have ever seen with Will Smith, I never saw "Concussion" or "Winter's Tale", "Focus" but I have seen Netflix's Fantasy Action flick "Bright", It was mindless, fun, but it isn't a very good film so I am gonna give it 5 out of 10, seems fair.
- DirectorBill CondonStarsEmma WatsonDan StevensLuke EvansA selfish Prince is cursed to become a monster for the rest of his life, unless he learns to fall in love with a beautiful young woman he keeps prisoner. This was nominated a few awards, It's a beautiful film, but the struggle with this one is that it's a remake and Emma Watson wasn't the perfect Belle Afterall, I liked the Gaston character and the actor playing him and the beast song is probably the best one.
- DirectorJon WattsStarsTom HollandMichael KeatonRobert Downey Jr.Peter Parker balances his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens with his superhero alter-ego Spider-Man, and finds himself on the trail of a new menace prowling the skies of New York City. Can't ignore the Sony Marvel deal for a good flick like this but Spider-Man: Homecoming did have a couple issues and didn't find it as funny like Toby Mcguire's "Spiderman" films but it did improve over "The Amazing Spiderman 2"... A lot.
- DirectorChristopher LandonStarsJessica RotheIsrael BroussardRuby ModineA college student must relive the day of her murder over and over again, in a loop that will end only when she discovers her killer's identity. It's a birthday one, but a satisfying one... It isn't the best horror Blumhouse film that Jason Blum had produced, but what I'm not happy about is that Happy Death Day had made a sequel.
- DirectorNikolaj ArcelStarsIdris ElbaMatthew McConaugheyTom TaylorA boy haunted by visions of a dark tower from a parallel reality teams up with the tower's disillusioned guardian to stop an evil warlock known as the Man in Black who plans to use the boy to destroy the tower and open the gates of Hell. This Steven King Adaptation was somehow better than I expected, and no I did not miss the beginning, I looked on you tube to find the opening scene and It was good... but The Dark Tower overall was mediocre, It had action, little diversity, but that's all.
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsMichael FassbenderKatherine WaterstonBilly CrudupThe crew of a colony ship, bound for a remote planet, discover an uncharted paradise with a threat beyond their imagination, and must attempt a harrowing escape. Not their best "Alien" film but at the same time not a bad one either, I find the death scenes unnecessary but I would rather watch Alien: Covenant the 2nd time than Prometheus which that one was a mess.
- DirectorToa FraserStarsJamie BellMark StrongAbbie CornishBased on the Iranian Embassy siege of 1980, this action-thriller dramatizes a six-day standoff between armed Iranian Arabs and SAS soldiers ready for a counterattack.Pretty good I guess, 6 Days is decent and Mark Strong has an interesting character in him that really got me for not saying no.
- DirectorDarren AronofskyStarsJennifer LawrenceJavier BardemEd HarrisA couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. It god mixed opinions, but Mother! was disturbing in multiple levels, I felt a heartbeat through most of their intensity and do not get me wrong if i say that I liked this more than other horror films.
- DirectorJamie M. DaggStarsJon BernthalChristopher AbbottImogen PootsA former rodeo champ befriends a young man with a propensity for violence. It's a dark film, Sweet Virginia is a good film... but not a great film with guns as their prop holds.
- DirectorRob ReinerStarsWoody HarrelsonJames MarsdenRob ReinerA group of journalists of the Knight-Ridder news service covering President George W. Bush's planned invasion of Iraq in 2003 are skeptical of the President's claim that Saddam Hussein has "weapons of mass destruction."Not Spotlight good, Shock and Awe has actors I enjoy performing and it had the decently to try to last more on their liabilities, personally I think It's alright!
- DirectorPeter LandesmanStarsLiam NeesonDiane LaneMarton CsokasThe story of Mark Felt, who under the name "Deep Throat" helped journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein uncover the Watergate scandal in 1972.First time I've seen Liam Neeson play a politician, Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House was confusing but I liked some of it.
- DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsTaron EgertonColin FirthMark StrongAfter the Kingsman's headquarters is destroyed and the world is held hostage, an allied spy organization in the United States is discovered. These two elite secret agencies must band together to defeat a common enemy.Alright, now we have moved one with a sequel of Kingsman which isn't as good but still find funny to this very day, however... I will never hate on great actors like Colin firth or Mark Strong, oh!
and Elton John was Hilarious. - DirectorDavid LeitchStarsCharlize TheronJames McAvoyJohn GoodmanAn undercover MI6 agent is sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent and recover a missing list of double agents.Well, that's all of the mediocre okay bad rated films I had done so now onto the good ones, I say... Atomic Blonde really amused me, I liked the ending scene and I should have gave this 7 instead of 6... never mind!
- DirectorJake KasdanStarsDwayne JohnsonKaren GillanKevin HartFour teenagers are sucked into a magical video game, and the only way they can escape is to work together to finish the game.I liked the film, of course It can't beat the classic Robin Williams "Jumanji" back in 1995, but it had funny comedians like Kevin Hart which I think this is the only good one he has made.
- DirectorBrian GoodmanStarsAntonio BanderasJonathan Rhys MeyersPiper PeraboA reclusive screenwriter takes in a mysterious drifter who is determined to repay his kindness by helping him finish his latest story.I'm surprised when I saw Antonio Banderas's name on the credits, I say that is really him,
what I enjoyed most about Black Butterfly is that it doesn't set on many locations at all. - DirectorDan GilroyStarsDenzel WashingtonColin FarrellCarmen EjogoRoman J. Israel, Esq., a driven, idealistic defense attorney, finds himself in a tumultuous series of events that lead to a crisis and the necessity for extreme action.People would call this a masterpiece, I saw this on the channel where they play all the really great films, and Roman J. Israel, Esq. is a natural film with a ton of research and typewriters we all can remember the thought and fame of.
- DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsKenneth BranaghPenélope CruzWillem DafoeWhen a murder occurs on the train on which he's travelling, celebrated detective Hercule Poirot is recruited to solve the case.I have heard this was based on a book or some kind, It's not an original film more like an Adaptation as I seen Murder on the Orient Express with a friend and we both found it to be very interesting with a plot twist that really surprised us.
- DirectorMichael CuestaStarsDylan O'BrienMichael KeatonSanaa LathanAfter the death of his girlfriend at the hands of terrorists, Mitch Rapp is drawn into the world of counterterrorism, mentored by tough-as-nails former U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. Stan Hurley.I have this film at home, cuz American Assassin is so good I would love to see this more than once and is now apart of my mindless film collection, It also has a suitable cast like Dylan O' Brian, Michael Keaton, and Taylor Kitsch.
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsFionn WhiteheadBarry KeoghanMark RylanceAllied soldiers from Belgium, the British Commonwealth and Empire, and France are surrounded by the German Army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II.From what I've seen, I saw 4 best picture films of the year and this didn't win... I don't think it should but Dunkirk is a fascinating film which got me thinking about a lot for what it's based on parts of the british empire we all should see.
- DirectorMartin CampbellStarsKatie LeungJackie ChanRufus JonesA humble businessman with a buried past seeks justice when his daughter is killed in an act of terrorism. A cat-and-mouse conflict ensues with a government official, whose past may hold clues to the killers' identities.Jackie Chan has always been a good actor ever since he has started, I now know that the Irish are racist when I saw The Foreigner had me a very entertaining feeling inside, and It's been a while Peirce Bronson come back since their James Bond Instalments... I say this is one of STX's great films.
- DirectorDee ReesStarsJason MitchellCarey MulliganJason ClarkeTwo men return home from World War II to work on a farm in rural Mississippi, where they struggle to deal with racism and adjusting to life after war.I find Mudbound to be very underrated cuz it only shows on Netflix, yes... It's a Netflix film and is one of the best ones they got, It had a good story, nice writing and performances so good they make me cry.
- DirectorJames GunnStarsChris PrattZoe SaldanaDave BautistaThe Guardians struggle to keep together as a team while dealing with their personal family issues, notably Star-Lord's encounter with his father, the ambitious celestial being Ego.A hilarious Marvel film and is a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy which I still think is better even though It had a Raccoon that can talk and he was the best part of that film, as for this you can enjoy it as long if you don't watch the same crap for 24 hours.
- DirectorMichael GraceyStarsHugh JackmanMichelle WilliamsZac EfronCelebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.A wonderful, colourful way to enjoy The Greatest Showman is with some musical magical and fantastic actors like Hugh Jackman, tho I'm not a huge Zac Efron fan but his character was very interesting, I should watch it again... this time with silence.
- DirectorDenis VilleneuveStarsHarrison FordRyan GoslingAna de ArmasYoung Blade Runner K's discovery of a long-buried secret leads him to track down former Blade Runner Rick Deckard, who's been missing for thirty years. The sequel that takes place into the year of 2049 and in occasion feels a little slow in the beginning did take a while for the "Blade Runner" Story but I really loved their visuals, I say they are one of the best ones on a Big Budget sequel ever made, you'll also see Ryan Gosling in it as well.
- DirectorRian JohnsonStarsDaisy RidleyJohn BoyegaMark HamillRey develops her abilities with the help of Luke Skywalker, as the Resistance prepares for battle against the First Order. You got me thinking... Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi tells exactly the same story as the "Empire Strikes Back" their best "Star Wars" film, other than that their fight scenes are incredible, always liked Rey and Finn as characters and shows that exotic moment of fighting for mercy.
- DirectorF. Gary GrayStarsVin DieselJason StathamDwayne JohnsonWhen a mysterious woman seduces Dominic Toretto into the world of terrorism and a betrayal of those closest to him, the crew face trials that will test them as never before. We got someone who is as good just like Paul Walker does, I think it might be his brother but who would know for sure... The Fate of the Furious still has plenty of damage cars and cool action that doesn't rely too much on CG at all and that's what makes this latest instalment really good.
- DirectorTaika WaititiStarsChris HemsworthTom HiddlestonCate BlanchettImprisoned on the planet Sakaar, Thor must race against time to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarök, the destruction of his world, at the hands of the powerful and ruthless villain Hela.Is Thor: Ragnarok better than "Thor: The Dark World", everybody says... Yes! It most defenetly is, you would see the Hulk, has far better sense of direction, amazing humour and this is far better than you think only if you wanna switch your brain off.
- DirectorDaniel EspinosaStarsJake GyllenhaalRebecca FergusonRyan ReynoldsA team of scientists aboard the International Space Station discover a rapidly evolving life form that caused extinction on Mars and now threatens all life on Earth. The best about Life is, there's an Alien Killer on the loose in the ship, which likes to kill people... but that's what makes it terrifying as heck handling a nice script, great characters actors chemistry or all 3, a surprising ending easy to explain without giving anything away, and feels most like a prequel to "Cloverfield".
- DirectorPatty JenkinsStarsGal GadotChris PineRobin WrightWhen a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, Diana, an Amazonian warrior in training, leaves home to fight a war, discovering her full powers and true destiny.Best DC film we got since "The Dark Knight Rises", the sequel to Summit's "Red" was Awful, "Bvs" sucked, "Suicide Squad" was lacking and mediocre at best maybe, but Wonder Woman was badass... and I loved it!
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsMichelle WilliamsChristopher PlummerMark WahlbergThe story of the kidnapping of 16-year-old John Paul Getty III and the desperate attempt by his devoted mother to convince his billionaire grandfather Jean Paul Getty to pay the ransom.I'm delighted to say that All the Money in the World did give me plenty of hints for what the film is all about, It's giving money, filling the load from the rich to poor... or the other way round, and does have one scene brutal and disgusting they had a reason to do it.
- DirectorEdgar WrightStarsAnsel ElgortJon BernthalJon HammAfter being coerced into working for a crime boss, a young getaway driver finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail.I wanted to see it in theatres, missed out... and when I rented the DVD of Baby Driver, I saw it and was a good experience to have.
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsMeryl StreepTom HanksSarah PaulsonA cover-up spanning four U.S. Presidents pushes the country's first female newspaper publisher and her editor to join an unprecedented battle between press and government. All about the Newspaper Times in New York City as going by The Post had hired Steven Spielberg as director to play most on his part onto why this film is so good, you can already tell.
- DirectorChad StahelskiStarsKeanu ReevesRiccardo ScamarcioIan McShaneAfter returning to the criminal underworld to repay a debt, John Wick discovers that a large bounty has been put on his life.Keanu Reeves has been in Action films for years now and here we go again with John Wick: Chapter 2, It's just as amazing like the first film of "John Wick"... but the Wick character moves on with his life to kick more ass.
- DirectorMatt ReevesStarsAndy SerkisWoody HarrelsonSteve ZahnAfter the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. For sure the most Mature, Serious, More Grimm attempt of a sequel and best one we got in the history of the "Planet of the Apes" ever, War for the Planet of the Apes changed everything and it had a really sad ending, but you know... a lot of remarkable films attend to do that often.
- DirectorJoe WrightStarsGary OldmanLily JamesKristin Scott ThomasIn May 1940, the fate of World War II hangs on Winston Churchill, who must decide whether to negotiate with Adolf Hitler, or fight on knowing that it could mean the end of the British Empire.Back in the 1940's Winston Churchill really wanted a war with Hitler, not to get too puzzled with the film this is when he negotiated with a Dictator and even the worst person in history, overall I say Gary Oldman was by far the best at playing Winston and I would love to see this one again, in fact... I might buy the DVD in the future.
- DirectorGuillermo del ToroStarsSally HawkinsOctavia SpencerMichael ShannonAt a top secret research facility in the 1960s, a lonely janitor forms a unique relationship with an amphibious creature that is being held in captivity.Guillermo del Toro's Monsters are the best, and I am absolutely right this time... I absolutely adore The Shape of Water which is all about a lady who is speechless but knows how to communicate with the fish monster who I think looked exactly like another version of the "Hellboy" fish.
- DirectorMartin McDonaghStarsFrances McDormandWoody HarrelsonSam RockwellA mother personally challenges the local authorities to solve her daughter's murder when they fail to catch the culprit.I think Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri should have been best picture at the oscars and not "The Shape of Water", It had the right story that fits in, perfect cinematography and the cast did an amazing job.
- DirectorJames MangoldStarsHugh JackmanPatrick StewartDafne KeenIn a future where mutants are nearly extinct, an elderly and weary Logan leads a quiet life. But when Laura, a mutant child pursued by scientists, comes to him for help, he must get her to safety.Out of all the Marvel films I've seen this year Logan is by far the best I saw, not only that... It's also my favorite film of 2017, just because I'd did this for the Logan character who is my No. 1 favorite in the "X-Men franchise" and it's effectively really sad what happened to him...
Rest in Piece Wolverine, Gone but not Forgotten.
