- DirectorBrian De PalmaStarsTom CruiseJon VoightEmmanuelle BéartAn American agent, under false suspicion of disloyalty, must discover and expose the real spy without the help of his organization.#7: Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has a new mission from his team to find a list that someone has stolen, and if the person release the list, all of the agents will be doomed. That is basically the plot. Why wasting money? This movie is about everything and nothing. Of course, about the bad sides, it was a lot. First of all, the characters in the movie did not feel important, you are like: Hey! Who are you? Then the character disappear, and later, they come back, and they are like coming and walking away, they just were not important. The story was built up bad, everything happened too fast, and the action scenes were very lame, and when I mean very, I mean very much. Except of the last one. Good sides. The last action scene was good. I want spoil, but I can say that it was a good scene. The music was fantastic and rememberable, and Tom Cruise was also nice in the role as Ethan Hunt. But nothing more! This movie does not deserve high rating. I think this movie is just a waste of money. Why did they waste so much money for such a useless movie? I do not know. But if I know one thing, is that you should not watch this movie. Watch something better instead, even if it have some good sides, it is mostly bad. Watch out for the impossible movie!
- DirectorChristopher McQuarrieStarsTom CruiseRebecca FergusonJeremy RennerEthan and his team take on their most impossible mission yet when they have to eradicate an international rogue organization as highly skilled as they are and committed to destroying the IMF.#6: Sorry, this is definitely not my Mission Impossible. The only thing I expected from this film was good action, well built-up story and epic suspense. It failed on most of the points. Tom Cruise as Agent Ethan Hunt is settling out for a new mission to stop a powerful force called The Syndicate, and he has to do some damn small missions to finally come over to the main part. It felt really like that, you know. Tom Cruise goes jumpy around the globe to do some small missions, and then the final comes randomly in. Everything laps together, but in a very rushed and cheesy way. I didn't find the story interesting, the characters in here were forgettable (I'm not mentioning the main heroes, of course) and the villains were just guys hanging around and they weren't much in the movie until the final part, where the director decided to squeeze everything into the last act, and I didn't quite like it. Before that I think they dragged the story too much, and could be definitely a half hour shorter. Ethan Hunt as a character was cool and great as always, but his new friend he is getting, Ilsa, is more of a betrayer with no course of action and I couldn't take her role seriously, really. She was ok performed, but yet, nothing special. Ok, now I talked bad about the film, so let's go over the few pros that saved it with three stars more. The action. When the big action sequences came, everything was turned on, and I got the Mission Impossible vibe right at the place. The dynamic filming angles, epic stunts, and of course the music that made the suspense even greater. The motorcycle chase scene was especially a banger, greatly made with a good pause on the story (That I didn't like anyway) and the suspense was something much better to focus on. Some fun jokes and ironic sequences to keep the humor, but it wasn't a big thing, though. Going through, Rogue Nation was bad, saved by the few great action sequences and humor, but still a very weak fifth installment. It could have been much better.
- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsTom CruiseMichelle MonaghanVing RhamesIMF agent Ethan Hunt comes into conflict with a dangerous and sadistic arms dealer who threatens his life and his fiancée in response.#5: The third part in the franchise was an action-packed movie, everything is build-up in the same "Mission Impossible" way and it isn't something I can really argue on, but, it could have been done better. Tom Cruise is back as the unstoppable, intelligent agent Ethan Matthew Hunt, and he and his Impossible-Mission Force is going to once again solve a new case, this time it is about to catch a weapon-seller, who owns a powerful weapon called The Rabbit Foot. Yeah, and that's the downside with this movie, it got some very good elements of fighting, stunts and other bombastic action sequences, something that is always fun for the franchise, but this time they didn't get the plot right. The plot was really like the previous one, a weapon, a seller, and Ethan Hunt has to stop them, I just missed originality, something new that could spice up the story and something that we never had before. Of course, very good action. The different camera-angles from the side, I especially liked a boat scene were they rushed and the camera went fast from the side, and yeah, all of that stuff was really good. Epic music included? Of course. The nostalgic, action-adventure music isn't something new, but very good, it was very similar to the music soundtrack from Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning. But then the cons come, and I really wished they could have been fixed. First of, when they got the weapon, it could have been whatever, because they never used it anyway, so why couldn't it be for example a key to a secret treasure, then I could understand it. The weapon was like a background-character, that was completely a waste for budget for this very movie. When the action came, I also feeled they kind of run from the plot, and it was easy to forget what they were actually doing. But well, that was details, but it doesn't mean that I will forget it. Small details are sometimes the most important, so what I mean was that I missed originality and incomplete elements for the plot. The characters. First of all, Tom Cruise was good as always, his epic stunts never fail, he does his stuff good. He is getting married, and the director did a good job with showing the connection between he and his wife, Julia. They looked like they could have been a couple in reality, so also a great job from the actors side. But guys, Tom Cruise or not, Luther is still carrying the movie. Luther is Ethan Hunt's friend, and he is so smart and funny, he is such a good and iconic character, and it is always that feeling when he is coming. When I was watching this with my friends, and Luther came on the scene, we were shouting: "Luther!" Because it is always that feeling when he is coming. I could say he carried the movie with 40%, if I'm going to be completely honest. The villain. Meh. The villain come from time to time, and he didn't feel so important, what is a downside, because villains are supposed to be important. Anyway, with the plot, action, and characters explained, Mission Impossible 3 was an ok movie, got some negative sides but it was very entertaining and fun. The plot could have been better, so in the next part I hope for something amazing, something that can really change the course.
- DirectorJohn WooStarsTom CruiseDougray ScottThandiwe NewtonIMF agent Ethan Hunt is sent to Sydney to find and destroy a genetically modified disease called "Chimera".#4: Mission: Impossible 2 is a very good sequel to Mission Impossible. It keeped the same structure of the Mission Impossible movies, message, the mission, the action and the finale battle. Ethan Hunt is an agent, and he has to do anything to complete the mission. This movie offered from my point of view better elements than the very first one. Tom Cruise returns as Agent Ethan Hunt and the action start right one! Now I will tell you why this movie was so great, the acting, and my overall opinion. This movie had a mission that was about the whole world, and that was very dangerous, so it was more exciting and interesting to find out more about what have been done and how the agent is going to stop it. The action was building up greatly, slow at the beginning, but that's ok, because later the excitement come and the action become so good. The action sequences was so well done, great angles, the explosions and the motorcycle chasing scenes were fantastically made, it keeped the suspense on, and I was very satisfied. The music by Hans Zimmer was ok, just very normal action movie music, and the Mission Impossible theme by Lalo Schifrin, never get it wrong, it is just so fantastic, it fits the franchise very well. Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt played very well, as well as the stunts he is doing, he is doing them all by himself, no extra stuntman, I think it is very impressing, most action movie stars need an extra stuntman, but that he is doing it himself is on a different level. The other actors were great but not stunning, just did the job in here. Concluding it all, Mission Impossible 2 was a fun, action-packed action movie, great sequel, and this movie want me to watch the rest of them! I think I might do it after all.
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsTom CruiseJeremy RennerSimon PeggThe IMF is shut down when it's implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Ethan Hunt and his new team to go rogue to clear their organization's name.#3: The fourth Mission Impossible movie is a wild action ride. The action never stops, it's holding and gripping, and made in the most amazing ways. Tom Cruise is back as the unstoppable Ethan Hunt that most once again settle out for a new adventure and a new mission to accomplish. Together with his brand new team, the story is getting even more interesting, introducing with a very great character development, and some very ok actors that did the job in their roles. I wished Luther (Ethan's Friend) could be more included and could have some more screen time, because he is a very cool and fun character. Fortunately, the amazing action lacks the negatives, and makes the movie even better. The stunts and agent tricks are always fresh and new, Tom Cruise on Burj Khalifa action sequences were made unforgettable and outstanding. Great camera filming and light set-up, the Mission Impossible theme is fitting the movie so well, as always. The agent tricks and secret devices were very original, especially the invisible wall that can almost be compared as a green screen, and how the agents used it to hide from the bad guys. Yeah, that was very cool. The filming locations as Moscow, Dubai and Bangalore were a good combination of places that Ethan had to go through. Ethan's character development isn't so expended, though, and I hope we can get more of it in the next part, Rogue Nation. Lastly, it is the opening credits. It's the last positive of Ghost Protocol. It was very great made with good editing, epic fades and great presentation of the movie title and the overall cast. From all of the openings I have watched from Mission Impossible, this one is the most original and unexpected made one so far. In the end, Ghost Protocol was an action packed entertaining movie, could have some more character development and more screen time for Luther, but in the end, I think it was ok. Recommending!
- DirectorChristopher McQuarrieStarsTom CruiseHenry CavillVing RhamesEthan Hunt and his IMF team, along with some familiar allies, race against time after a mission gone wrong.#2: Mission Impossible: Fallout is an absolutely amazing continuation to Rogue Nation (That was one of the weakest parts of the franchise) and this was just a great comeback, put things on a different level, Christopher McQuarrie finally understood his mistake with the previous part and decided to do something about it, and what he did was beyond the average action film. Fallout felt very connected to the previous parts (Especially Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation), bringing the same characters back and continuing the same storyline, something the Mission movies doesn't usually do. They usually start a new chapter (In the same world of course) and working on a new mission, while here, we have a new mission, but it's linked a lot to the previous, what I think is very cool. The story had much to offer here. The new characters were developed much more, I really liked the greater connection between Ethan Hunt and his ex-wife, that was more important than ever. She wasn't mentioned too much in the films, and it was great that she returned for a moment. Still, the action-suspense is the overall best part. I really liked the chase scenes (Especially the helicopter chase in the last act) with the great, intense camera filming with good, fast transitions. It had many martial arts fights here, something that's rare for the franchise. I especially appreciated the bathroom fight (If you watch it you will know what I mean) and I think it was very original and fresh for the genre. Many stunts here, that I think was absolutely stunning, Tom Cruise can do his job right. Some of them were so crazy that looks almost impossible for an average person, but of course, Tom Cruise isn't an average person you know. The humor and funny dialogues they put here made the action better, and the characters were more likable. I liked that Luther and Benji (Ethan's friends) were much more included here, because the friendship comes brighter in, and they are a fun trio to watch. The runtime was just fine, I didn't get bored, the first act had much info that needed to be puzzled right, but they connected all the details right afterwards. The story goes through multiple plot twists, that surprised me a lot. To summarize, Fallout was one of my favorite parts (Number one is Dead Reckoning) and I recommend it for every fan of epic action and entertainment. Watch the previous ones too, they are worth it.
- DirectorChristopher McQuarrieStarsTom CruiseHayley AtwellVing RhamesEthan Hunt and his IMF team must track down a dangerous weapon before it falls into the wrong hands.#1: Do you want to see an awesome action movie from 2023 except Indiana Jones five? Then you should watch the newest Mission Impossible movie, that I have to admit, was way better than the original first movie. The action scenes, the story and all of the rest was better constructed and directed, by Christopher McQuarrie. Even the music sounds better in the new movie, but that is probably because we got better technology now then for 27 years ago. Ethan Hunt has a new mission to complete. A powerful rogue AI also called "The Entity" has the access to every electronical device, included the military database, and that is why everyone is after a key that can control The Entity and get all of the power in the world, and to be able to control it. Ethan Hunt, of course, is trying to stop the big mess. This movie was just a perfect action movie. So dynamic, suspenseful and fascinating. The stunts with Tom Cruise was so cool and amazing, I am impressed that he is doing all of the stunts alone, with no extra stunt actor. Tom Cruise played the role with great sense of humor, and he just knew what to do. I liked the new introduced characters, that just made the story more interesting. Music, visuals, stunts and acting was just at the good place. Nothing in this movie feelt wrong or uncomplete. I had a lot of fun at the theatre! The cliffhanger at the end was amazing. I could watch part two right after this movie, but I guess I have to wait to 2024, unless a new Covid will come. That cliffhanger was fantastic. I had a feeling in the first Mission Impossible that was like: I wont see the second part, but with Dead Reckoning, I got a feeling that I just have to see part two. The director made that cliffhanger feeling just like a cilffhanger should be. This was a really, really good movie. If you want to watch it with your family or friends, just buy the tickets and do not think twice! This is a movie worth watching. You are going to come out of the theatre with big impression!
