James Van Der Beek and Kerr Smith are looking back at filming Dawson’s Creek and recalled some death-defying experiences they had on jet skis at the time.
This week, the two actors told People magazine at 90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut, that things would sometimes get a bit wild behind the scenes of the hit teen drama when they were filming in Wilmington, North Carolina.
“A couple of the guys on the crew had boats and you know we had the guest stars come in and the writers come in every episode and we would take them out on the water on the weekends,” Smith, who played Jack McPhee, recalled. “We’d stop and eat crab in the morning yet. And we’d fill up the boats with whatever we needed. We would barbecue out on the island. We all had jet skis.”

Netflix's intense teen series 13 Reasons Why is set to return for season two soon, and believe it or not, the show is adding more characters to its already sprawling cast. One newcomer fans can expect to see this season is Alex's mom, Carolyn, and she's played by an actor who knows a thing or two about teen dramas. Dawson's Creek alum Meredith Monroe is set to star as Carolyn, whom Deadline describes as a hardworking nurse and devoted mother. Given the fact that season one ended with Alex attempting suicide, Carolyn could be in for an emotional year, but Monroe's résumé has prepared her to handle heavy storylines.
Way back in 1998, Monroe joined the cast of Dawson's Creek as Andie McPhee, Jack's overachieving sister. She quickly starts a romance with Pacey, who sands by her side as she goes through a breakdown. Later,...

“Dawson’s Creek” creator Kevin Williamson is all for a reboot — as long as he isn’t involved.
Williamson told Entertainment Weekly he didn’t feel he could provide the show with any new emotional material while commenting on a discussion during a cast reunion, in which the actors pondered the possibility of a return. EW hosted the reunion, which included original cast members Katie Holmes, James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, Mary Beth Peil, and Busy Philipps.
“If someone else out there could … I would love to see someone else’s take on it, but I don’t think it’s gonna be me,” Williamson said.
When posed with the reboot question, Williams exclaimed, “I’m dead!” referring to the exit of her character Jen Lindley.

It’s almost impossible to believe that it’s been two decades since we first met Dawson, Joey, Pacey and Jen in the fictional, sleepy-yet-tumultuous town of Capeside, Massachusetts. But alas, it was Jan. 20, 1998, that Dawson’s Creek splashed onto screens in its debut on The WB (which was eventually replaced by The CW).
From the first time Katie Holmes‘ Joey Potter scaled a ladder that led to the Steven Spielberg-adorned bedroom of the titular character, played by James Van Der Beek, tweens and teens within five miles of a television were instantly hooked. Next-door-neighbors-turned-BFFs forced to grapple with...

Joshua Jackson has broken our teen hearts all over again by saying he doesn't think there will ever be a Dawson's Creek reunion series.
He told The Wrap it would be too difficult to do because one of the main characters - Michelle Williams's Jen Lindley - was killed off at the end.
Dawson's Creek: James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams - Where are they now?
Jackson said: "Well, they killed off one of the main characters - you can't do a revival series, one of us is dead! She's a ghost? She comes back as a ghost?
"I think at this point, so much time has passed, I think it's probably time to let that go for the next generation."
However, it seems former cast mate Katie Holmes thinks something could be arranged.
"There's been a lot of talk about it," she said earlier this year.

It’s an episode fans have probably been curious about since creator Josh Berman first teased it: Grayson (Jackson Hurst) is asked to represent a young man who was kicked off an airplane after he refused to open his window because, he claims, he’s a vampire and the sunlight will burn his skin.
“We wanted to find a Diva way in to a bullying story that would not seem like your typical bullying story,” Berman told EW before the season began.

Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer can sum up Season 9 in one word: backstories.
"That's our focus this year," she tells TVGuide.com. "We're telling backstories and origin stories. We want to give everybody some insight into our heroes because we give insight to the unsubs every week. We're going to hit 200 [episodes] and it feels like, 'Let's tell the audience things they never knew before.'"
That involves an old beau for Garcia (Kristen Vangsness), The Reaper (C. Thomas Howell) and Haley (Meredith Monroe) returning (but not from the dead), and filling in the blanks of Jj's (A.J. Cook) year in the State Department during Season 6 — with some help from new Bau section chief Matt Cruz (Esai Morales), with whom she worked there. What's the deal with those two? How does Garcia's ex come back into the picture? Get the scoop on the season below:

Family is a key aspect on Criminal Minds; whether it is the work family such as the Bau team, the actual families of this team or the many families they come into contact with through the crimes that are committed. Tonight we will see both the good and bad of what a family will do for each other and we will get to see Hotch (Thomas Gibson) getting the support of his colleagues, his new love interest Beth (Bellamy Young), and his son as he takes part in the FBI triathlon.
The case has the team investigating the deaths of women in Atlanta and it becomes apparent that they are looking for more than one unsub. As you can see from the promo below, it is a family that is behind these murders though it isn't really clear why they are doing so.

This Wednesday on Criminal Minds (CBS, 9/8c), a ray of light will slip into Hotch’s regularly dark world when he and Beth, the museum curator (played by Dirty Sexy Money‘s Bellamy Young) whom he first met in a mid-December episode, kiss for the first time — and TVLine has an exclusive first look at the moment right before their sweet clinch.

While we’re usually the first to gripe about yet another classic How I Met Your Mother misdirection, or bemoan the convoluted way in which the show’s writers continue to torture us loyal viewers by diabolically failing to deliver an answer to even the simplest of questions, we find ourselves in an uncharacteristically charitable mood after watching and re-watching last night’s controversial episode. Why? Because the simple fact of the matter is that following six plus seasons of — as fellow TV Addict @gmmrtv so eloquently tweeted “waiting for the other shoe to drop” — we had absolutely zero expectation that Robin was actually pregnant. And while we sure as heck didn’t see her inability to have kids coming (not to mention the unexpected guest appearance by Newsradio alum Vicki Lewis as her doctor!), we honestly feel that the beautiful way in which the episode ended — with Ted making...

Criminal Minds fans: Do you remember when showrunner Erica Messer teased that one of the agents would be getting a new love interest this season? Well, the speculation can now cease. Former Dirty Sexy Money star Bellamy Young will play Beth, a museum curator who will run into Hotch (Thomas Gibson) while he is training for a triathlon.
Earlier this year, Messer spoke about wanting the widower to get a fresh start after the death of his ex-wife and first love Haley (Meredith Monroe), back in season 5. Messer also said that Hotch has been 'going through the motions' for a while now and she would like to see him smile once again. Will Young's Beth be the one to bring a little light back into this single father's life or will their relationship merely be a stepping stone to a happier Agent Hotchner?...

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the show I have been missing since the premiere. This is Hawaii Five-0 (TV), back together, working as a team with carguments and big guns and Steve with his control issues. This episode was chocked full of character development, moments of extremely well-done emotion and a case that didn't overshadow those points. Three words: thank you, Show. I needed this. The University of Hawaii girl's volleyball team is tearing up the court. Their coach, Brian Scartelli (Joe Toro) gets his congratulatory Gatorade bath in the locker room, and then gets the not-so-congratulatory knife to the throat. Apparently university volleyball coaches are not supposed to have washboard abs and killer pecs and live. Kamekona (Taylor Wily) is busy with his shrimp truck, and also making hilarious *eyebrows* at Malia (Reiko Aylesworth), you know, Chin's (Daniel Dae Kim) ex-fiancé? It seems the two of them have been seeing each other again.

Meredith Monroe is on her way to Bluebell.
The former Dawson's Creek star, who has since appeared on episodes of Psych, NCIS and The Closer, will appear on at least one episode of Hart of Dixie later this year.
In what capacity? That must remain a secret for now, but TV Line teases the character as a "very important former Bluebell resident" with ties to already-established individuals in town. Our educated guess, based on our recent interview with Wilson Bethel?
Monroe will portray Wade's ex-wife.
Megan Stevenson has also been cast on Hart of Dixie. She'll come on board as Zoe's Bff from NYC.

Meredith Monroe will soon be whistling Hart of Dixie.
TVLine has learned exclusively that the Dawson’s Creek alumna will appear this fall on at least one episode of the CW charmer (Mondays, 9/8c) as a very important former Bluebell resident who has ties to a few of the characters we already know and love.
Jaime King Attempts to Untangle Hart of Dixie’s Sweetly-Twisted Love Triangle
We wish we could fill you in on when you can expect to see her and how she pops back up in the tiny town, but it’s too good to spoil just yet.

The Asylum is ready to spread more of their mental illness with their film Born Bad. This latest horror flick is from director Jared Cohn (Revenants) and stars Meredith Monroe, Bonnie Dennison, Michael Welch, Gerald Webb and Bill Oberst Jr. In the film, much like 1996's Fear, an innocent girl brings home a seemingly charming boyfriend. However, this new beau is more serial killer than companion. Strangely, both Fear and Born Bad share similar plot points and The Asylum is known for knocking off big blockbusters. This reviewer has not seen the film, so horror fans will have to make the final call when Born Bad releases on DVD November 8th. Enjoy or throw stones at the film's trailer below.
As an aside, The Asylum was sued in late 2009 by Winchester Mystery House, LLC (PRWeb). The litigants and owners of Winchester House hold property in California in the form of a "State Historical Landmark.

A second former resident of the "Lost" island is headed to "Hawaii Five-0" this season.
Tania Raymonde, known to Dharma-philes as Alex Rousseau, will guest-star in an episode later this fall, EW reports. She'll be playing a married pro volleyball athlete who's having an affair with her coach.
Raymonde's guest turn will be in the same episode as that of "Dawson's Creek" alum Meredith Monroe, who's playing a teammate caught up in a kidnapping plot.
While Raymonde is on set she'll get to former "Lost" regular Daniel Dae Kim, who stars on "Five-0," and possibly Terry O'Quinn has a significant recurring arc this season, beginning with Monday's (Sept. 19) premiere.
Raymonde has lately been starring in MTV's comedy "Death Valley." Her credits also include "Malcolm in the Middle" and "Cold Case."...

Add two more names to the already extensive list of guest stars on "Hawaii Five-0" in the coming season.
Greg Grunberg will join his former "Heroes" co-star Masi Oka (who's now a regular) in an episode, and separately, Meredith Monroe ("Dawson's Creek") will play a perp/victim in another episode.
Grunberg and Monroe join a roster of guest stars/recurring actors that also includes Terry O'Quinn, Tom Sizemore, Autumn Reeser and "NCIS: Los Angeles" star Daniela Ruah, who's doing a crossover episode.
Grunberg will play an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent who works with Five-0 when a fellow agent is killed, TVLine reports. Executive producer Peter Lenkov tells the site that Grunberg will have a scene with Oka's quirky coroner, Max, to close the "Heroes" circle.

Hawaii Five-0 is bringing in a former Dawson’s Creek cast member, Meredith Monroe, to guest star in an episode of the show’s second season. Monroe played fan favorite Andie McPhee for two seasons on Dawson’s, and now she’s playing an unhappy wife. Her Five-0 character is leaving her rich husband, but she’s taking some of his wealth with her. She enlists the help of a volleyball coach (possible affair?) to help her, only to discover the money she takes actually belongs to a dangerous criminal, who then kidnaps her.

While The Asylum's priorites in recent years have focused on mockbusters and outlandish "mega" movies, raunchy sex comedies, and even some Christian baiting flicks to boot, one should not forget that in the beginning they actually churned out original horror. Could Born Bad be a return to their early days?
The Asylum has just announced the thriller Born Bad starring Meredith Monroe (pictured; "Dawson's Creek", "Criminal Minds"), Bonnie Dennison (Stake Land, "Guiding Light"), Michael Welch (The Twilight Saga, "Joan of Arcadia"), and David Chokachi ("Baywatch", "Witchblade").
"When a rebellious girl from a good family falls for the town drifter, she unwittingly brings a psychopath into her loving home."
That's all we know at this time about the thriller from actor turned writer-director Jared Cohn, who years ago had small roles in such Asylum originals as Way of the Vampire and Legion of the Dead. Given the vagueness of that premise,...

The Behavioral Analysis Unit on Criminal Minds (TV) has always prided itself on being a family, but on Wednesday, the family will lose one member: agent Jennifer "Jj" Jareau (A.J. Cook). Cook's contract was not renewed by CBS in June, and the actress — who, with the exception of the pilot, has been a regular since the first season — will bid adieu to her Bau crew in Wednesday's episode, appropriately titled "Jj." In honor of her imminent departure, we're looking back at the top moments featuring our favorite pistol-whippin', dart-throwing communications liaison from the past six seasons. 8. Mother Knows Best Sure, this was just from last week's Season 6 premiere, "The Longest Night," but Jj's four-minute speech to unsub Billy Flynn (Tim Curry) — who was holding a young girl hostage — gave Cook a showcase moment in her penultimate episode. Untrained in hostage-negotiation tactics, Jj gets through to Flynn when she works the personal angle,...

The Deep End, the new midseason show from ABC, premieres on January 21st. Normally, I might say something along the lines "oh, no…..not another law show". But I've fallen in love with The Good Wife, so I'm not as skeptical lately.
Plus, I just took a look at the promo photos for the pilot episode and realized that this show stars Billy Zane. Billy Zane! Dude is badass. I don't know why, I just love him. And you know that if a walk-off breaks out in the show, Billy Zane will be around to call it. So things are already looking up.
Oh, and for all you Twilight fans, that chick who got fired from the third movie is making a guest appearance in the pilot episode on January 21st. Check out the photos below. I'm hoping to get some video previews for you all soon.

The big news tonight on The Mentalist episode "Red Bulls" is that Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Agent Sam Bosco (Terry Kinney) work together on a case. The episode begins with a tense scene involving Bosco's team, busting into an abandoned house they believe houses a kidnap victim and her captors. Guns drawn, they rush into a crowded room–populated by Agent Teresa Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) Cbi team, including Jane. After a tense moment of adrenaline and demanding to know what the other is doing there, Jane finally gets them all to lower their guns.
Turns out Lisbon and her team were asked to investigate a report of a dead body in the abandoned house. The body turns out to be a young man who had been kidnapped years earlier. Cbi boss Minelli (Gregory Itzin) agrees with Jane that the coincidences are too great between the two kidnap cases, and...
