Although reactions to the series have been mixed, Fubar has been renewed for a second season on Netflix, as the streaming service obviously sees some potential in the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led action comedy series. Now, we know that Arnie will be back for the second season, as well as many familiar faces from Season 1, but we have just received news that a Hollywood legend is joining the second season of the series as one of its female leads. The actress in question is Carrie-Anne Moss, best known for her work in The Matrix franchise, and it seems that she will be another new challenge for Arnie’s character.
The second season of Fubar is currently being worked on, but Netflix hasn’t confirmed a release date for the season. The first season of the series consists of a total of eight episodes.

As the new year dawns, a fresh cinematic universe is on the horizon for DC Comics-based projects. With James Gunn at the helm, he doesn’t shy away from dispelling rumors surrounding ‘Superman: Legacy’ and potential additions to the revamped Dcu.
Recent rumors circulating about planned and unplanned Dcu properties have centered on the speculated ‘Waller’ TV Show. Initially intended as a 13-episode series, scripts were mostly complete, and casting had commenced. Phil Abraham was set to direct the initial two episodes, with Freddie Stroma reprising his role as Vigilante and Sean Gunn taking on Maxwell Lord. Supporting roles were to be filled by John Douglas Thompson and Ivanna Sakhno. The season was slated to be split into two parts, with the first half premiering in the spring of 2025 and the second half in the fall.

With the new year comes a new cinematic universe for the projects based on DC comics, and now that Gunn is officially in charge, he really does not hold back on debunking various rumors related to ‘Superman: Legacy’ and other possible projects that might be developed as a part of newly overhauled Dcu.
Recently, some rumors resurfaced regarding planned and (unplanned)Dcu properties, mostly related to the alleged ‘Waller’ TV Show. ‘Waller’ was supposed to be a TV series consisting of 13 episodes. The majority of scripts were complete, and casting has begun. Phil Abraham was supposed to direct the first two episodes. Freddie Stroma would return as Vigilante, and Sean Gunn would portray Maxwell Lord. John Douglas Thompson and Ivanna Sakhno joining in supporting roles. The season was supposed to be divided into two parts, with the first half set to premiere in the spring of 2025, followed by the second half in the fall.

Plot: A CIA Operative on the verge of retirement discovers a family secret. Forced to go back into the field for one last job, the series tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action and humor.
Review: Over the six decades of his acting career, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been in comedies, dramas, action movies, and horror flicks, but until now, he has not starred in a television series. With streaming services now as robust as any movie studio, the biggest names in Hollywood have headlined their own small-screen shows. Schwarzenegger’s Netflix series Fubar tries to replicate the best elements of the iconic actor’s filmography by blending action and humor with some new blood in the form of Top Gun: Maverick star Monica Barbaro. Fubar aims high but feels barely more than a network television spy series that could have been so much better considering the talent involved.

For those of you who've been clamoring for "True Lies 2" (i.e. Tom Arnold), the upcoming series "Fubar" is likely the closest you're going to get. Created by television veteran Nick Santora, the show stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a CIA operative who's been lying to his daughter about his profession for years. Turns out the familial duplicity is a two-way street, as his daughter (Monica Barbaro) has been fibbing about her work as a spy, too. When the father and daughter are assigned to work together, their relationship essentially begins anew. And, yes, Tom Arnold is along for the ride.
This is Schwarzenegger's first official TV endeavor, and, if nothing else, it's got a fun supporting cast in Jay Baruchel, Aparna Brielle (so good on "AP Bio"), and Scott Thompson. Phil Abraham ("The Sopranos" and "Mad Men") directed the pilot, which is also encouraging. But, really, we're here for the...

Halcyon Studios has brought on Phil Abraham to direct and executive produce the series “Beverly Hills Noir,” Variety has learned exclusively.
Halcyon, a division of Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, is producing the show, which is based on “Gemstone” by James Ellroy. Per the official logline, the show “follows two female detectives as they are sucked into the vortex of power, greed, and cold-blooded conspiracy in one of the most aspirational cities in the world, Beverly Hills.”
Ed Decter is writing the series and will also serve as executive producer and showrunner. Along with Decter and Abraham, Ellroy, Stewart Till, and Richard Potter also executive produce. No network or streaming service is currently attached to the project.
“When it comes to the greats of crime fiction, no one tackles the corruption of the American Dream quite like James Ellroy,” said Abraham. “The jewel heist that kicks off the action...

Plot: After an accident derails their exploits in Europe, The Hunters must band back together to hunt down history’s most infamous Nazi—Adolf Hitler—who’s hiding in South America. Meanwhile, a look to the past reveals Meyer Offerman (Al Pacino) encountering a dangerous threat that could unravel his secret and expose his true identity, with explosive reverberations for our Hunters.
Review: It is rare to see a television series go out on its own terms after such a short time on the air. Despite premiering three years ago, the second season of Hunters was delayed due to Covid-19. After so many years away, the dramatic series about Nazi hunters in the 1970s returns with a vastly different sophomore season which also serves as its last. I enjoyed the first season of this pulpy exploitation thriller, but I loved the second despite it feeling like a wholly different series.

For those still wondering 15 years later what happened in the aftermath of “The Sopranos” finale, the 2022 Super Bowl just gave us a clue.
“Sopranos” stars Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler, who respectively played Meadow and A.J. in the series, reprised their roles in a Chevrolet Silverado Ev advertisement directed by series creator David Chase. The Sopranos lives! Or, at least, Meadow and Aj Soprano still do, in a Super Bowl commercial helmed by none other than Sopranos creator David Chase, in which Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler reprise their roles as Tony Soprano’s children, Meadow and Aj.
The involvement of Chase (and, for that matter, original Sopranos director of photography Phil Abraham) may not exactly place the Chevy Silverado commercial into official Sopranos canon, but it’s as close to a sequel to the iconic HBO gangster drama as we may ever get.

“Most Dangerous Game” is the only nominee this year for Best Short Form Comedy or Drama Series that is not an extension of an existing series. The 15-episode action thriller contends at the 2020 Emmys against three companion pieces to full-length series and “Reno 911!,” which has been revived in short form after a past life at full length.
Online tie-ins to “Better Call Saul” and “The Late Late Show” respectively won in 2017 and 2018. The former was on track last year to win again for its non-narrative “Employee Training” instructional advertisements, only to be disqualified for being too short — even for Short Form — and replaced by “State of the Union.” That original 10-episode miniseries, which had aired on SundanceTV, went on to sweep the field. It won Best Short Form Actor for Chris O’Dowd, Best Short Form Actress for Rosamund Pike and Best Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for director Stephen Frears,...

Exclusive: Most Dangerous Game, the action thriller starring Liam Hemsworth and Christoph Waltz, has been renewed for a second season at Quibi and is also set to be packaged into a standalone feature film.
The series, one of the short-form service’s most-high profile titles, follows Dodge Tynes (Hemsworth), who is desperate to take care of his pregnant wife before a terminal illness can take his life and accepts an offer to participate in a deadly game where he’s the prey. Waltz plays Miles Seller.
Nick Santora, who also created CBS’ Scorpion and wrote on The Sopranos, told Deadline that he has already written season two. He said that Waltz will return and the second season will feature a new “runner”.
“We’re prepping it now with the hopes of being able to film it when there’s a handle on filming safely in the time of Covid,” he said.

"The sport in its purest form - a hunt to kill." Quibi has revealed a full-length official trailer for a new film called Most Dangerous Game, another one of their launch offerings included as a "Movies in Chapters" selection (along with #FreeRayshawn). Even though we already have a "Most Dangerous Game"-esque film this year – The Hunt – here's yet another. Liam Hemsworth plays Dodge, who accepts the offer of a hunt to get out of debt. But turns out, he's not the hunter. He's the prey. "This action-thriller explores the limits of how far someone would go to fight for their life and their family. Let the games begin." This also stars Christoph Waltz, Sarah Gadon, Zach Cherry, Aaron Poole, Christopher Webster, Billy Burke, & Natasha Bordizzo. It actually looks solid, thanks to Waltz dropping another subtly creepy performance. Here's the full official trailer for Phil Abraham's Most Dangerous Game,...

“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” is changing showrunners again.
“Prison Break” creator Paul Scheuring, who was tapped to replace Carlton Cuse and run season 3 of the Amazon show less than three months ago, has stepped away from the role, Variety has confirmed.
Vaun Wilmott, who previously worked with Scheuring on “Prison Break” and recently served as a producer on “Star Trek: Discovery,” will be taking over showrunning duties for the forthcoming season.
Cuse left the series in March 2019, and “All The Money in the World” writer David Scarpa was originally in position to showrun season 3, according to sources, but reportedly exited the production soon after coming on board.
“Jack Ryan” stars John Krasinski as the titular CIA agent who, in the second season, ventures into a Venezuelan jungle to investigate an illegal arms deal. Cuse originally partnered with fellow “Lost” writer Roland to bring the Tom Clancy adaptation to the small screen.

“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” has found its new showrunner.
“Prison Break” creator Paul Scheuring has been tapped to run season 3 of the Amazon show, after Carlton Cuse, who co-created and co-showran the series with Graham Roland, stepped away from the role in March.
“All The Money in the World” writer David Scarpa was originally in position to showrun season 3, according to sources, but reportedly exited the production soon after coming on board. The news comes less than two weeks out from the show’s season 2 premiere on Nov. 1.

Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring has joined Amazon’s thriller drama series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan as executive producer and new showrunner for Season 3. He started work this week on the globe-trotting show, which has not started production on the new season yet. Season 2 premieres on Amazon on Nov. 1.
For the first two seasons, the John Krasinski starrer was run by Carlton Cuse, who had been the main creative force behind reviving Paramount’s Jack Ryan franchise as a TV series. He stepped back from day-to-day showrunner duties in March. Cuse was succeeded by David Scarpa who did a brief stint as showrunner before recently departing. Scheuring eventually took the reins of the series, starring and executive produced by Krasinski who has a lot of say in decision-making on the show.
