Long-time General Hospital viewers will remember Nicolas Bechtel as a quick-witted, scene-stealing child when he played Spencer Cassadine from 2013 to 2020. But those same fans might not recognize Bechtel now! Bechtel joined the long-running soap when he was eight years old, playing the son of Nikolas Cassadine (played at the time by the late Tyler Christopher) and Courtney Matthews. He left the show in 2020, when he was 15, and was replaced by Nicholas Chavez when producers decided to age up the character. Now 19, Bechtel shared a new profile pic on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, March 11, and surprised many fans who best remembered him as a precocious little kid. “Can’t believe how grown up you are! Time freakin flies! Amazing picture! Hope you’re doing great,” wrote former General Hospital castmate Kristen Alderson. #NewProfilePic pic.twitter.com/FMcudQI6st — Nicolas J. Bechtel (@NicolasJBechtel) March 11, 2024 “Wow. Didn’t recognize you. You are going up to fast,...

General Hospital has lost its way, and adding cast members with little to no significance to the current cast has been par for the course.
The cast is so bloated, yet many longtime fan favorites have been on the back burner for so long that what was simmering is probably stuck to the pot.
Over the years, the show has morphed from the hospital drama to being more focused on the mob scene, run by none other than Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Whether viewers want to admit it or not, he has become the face of the show. He is on nearly every day and often is the center of focus for several big storylines on the daytime drama.
However, some of us remember the days of great storylines that happened at the hospital. The nursing staff has dwindled, and the doctors are few and far between these days.

This year Jacqueline MacInnes Wood earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Actress for her role as Steffy Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” It’s her fourth nomination overall but her first as a leading lady, which puts her in elite company. It makes her only the fifth woman to achieve the triple crown of nominations as a younger, supporting and lead actress. But she still hasn’t won. Is this her year?
MacInnes Wood achieved all of her nominations in the span of just seven years. She picked up a pair of Best Younger Actress bids (2012-2013), which she lost to Christel Khalil (“The Young and the Restless”) and Kristen Alderson (“General Hospital”), respectively. When she returned to the Emmy lineup in 2018 she had aged out of the younger category (the cutoff is 26), so she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, but lost to Camryn Grimes (“Y...

Morgan Fairchild has been tapped to play the vindictive Vivian King in the new serialized half hour drama, Mélange. Using NYC as its backdrop, the show will center round the fight of ownership for a historic gay bar, Mélange, after its proprietor has suddenly and mysteriously died. The series will emulate the grand storytelling flair of 80’s primetime decadent dramas that pitted good vs. evil but in a contemporary, fast-paced style; exploring modern themes of sexuality, immigration, addiction, power, and inclusion. The ensemble cast of 17, lead by Morgan Fairchild, includes a roster of talent from television, Broadway, reality, and social media. Shooting for Mélange kicked off August 4th in New York City.
Scott Evans (One Life to Live) stars as Ryann Parker, the strikingly handsome young man whose once Utopian workplace has become infested with betrayal, corruption, and revenge. He fights to keep Mélange out of...

Producers/Directors Tom and Michael D'Angora are celebrating two years of "The Marvelous Wonderettes" by welcoming Emmy Award-winning soap star Kristen Alderson to the show. Beginning April 18th, Alderson will take over the role of Cindy Lou, the prettiest girl at Springfield High who knows she will be named Prom Queen and acts out against her best friend Betty Jean when things don’t go her way. Among the toe tapping hits Kristen will sing lead on are "Leader of the Pack," "Allegheny Moon," "Son of a Preacher Man," and "Maybe."
"I am beyond excited to be joining the extremely talented cast of 'The Marvelous Wonderettes,'" says Alderson. "I've always had a huge passion for theater and I'm so grateful that I get to be on stage again!"

Only three of this year's nine Daytime Emmy pre-nominees for Best Younger Actress have been nominated before, and they all happen to be past winners. In an unusual twist, two of them could win again for playing new roles on the same shows. -Break- Kristen Alderson played Starr Manning for 15 years, starting on "One Life to Live" in 1998. But the Daytime Emmys didn't recognize her until she moved the character to "General Hospital" in 2012. She won Best Younger Actress on her first nomination in 2013 and earned another bid in 2014. But after a legal struggle between the ABC network and "Oltl's" online production company Prospect Park, Starr was written out and Alderson was reintroduced to the "Gh" cast as a new character, Kiki Jerome, whom the actress played until she left the series altogether in early 2015. The Hamptons’ second pluckiest rookie — Ben is obviously No. 1 — thought he was saving the day on Sunday’s Revenge, anonymously submitting the flash drive containing Malcolm Black’s criminal exploits to the police, but it turns out he only made things worse. Much worse.
Malcolm was released due to “lack of evidence,” which further fueled his rage — rage that he then directed towards Emily, whom he now knows to be Amanda Clarke. Two tranquilizer shots brought Em and Victoria to their knees, while a menacing Malcolm stood over them. (“Night night” has never sounded so terrifying.
