Chloe Fineman’s IMDb page just keeps growing.
Less than a week after walking the red carpet at Cannes alongside Adam Driver, Nathalie Emmanuel, Giancarlo Esposito, and Aubrey Plaza—her co-stars in Francis Ford Coppola’s long-simmering passion project Megalopolis—the Saturday Night Live star has gotten Laid.
According to a new Deadline report, Fineman is among the impressive list of guest stars who have signed onto the upcoming Peacock project, which stars Stephanie Hsu, Zosia Mamet, and Michael Angarano.
The comedy series, which Deadline says has been “described as a f*cked-up rom-com,” is based on the Australian series of the same name. It follows the adventures of a young woman (Hsu) who is shocked to learn that her exes are dying in a series of bizarre ways, so she attempts to reconstruct her full sex timeline in order to save those who remain.

Good luck to you and all who plod along dusty roads with you if the first chapter of Kevin Costner’s “Horizon: An American Saga” compels you to seek out the forthcoming second one. This Civil War-era, Old West expansion epic is a $100 million vanity project that finds the actor/filmmaker in familiar terrain, and with the gall to cast himself as an apparently swoon-inducing cowboy in a world where all the women are either ball busters, prostitutes, or profoundly stupid, and the men hayseeds or Great American Heroes.
Told across four interwoven tales in and around the territories that became Wyoming, Montana, and Kansas, “Horizon” gets its title from a fictional pioneer settlement in the 1860s that’s stomped out an Apache tribe now battling to get back their land. But their patted-on inclusion at all feels like a committee-driven, gun-to-the-head corrective rather than an organic necessity of the story.

There are dream jobs, and then there are dream jobs. Acting seems like one of the more potentially fun dreams, especially when someone gets cast in a major franchise. Who among us hasn't imagined getting to be a part of "Star Wars," "Star Trek," the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or whatever movie or television series makes our hearts beat faster? Talk about living the dream. Heck, sometimes those dreams can even be shared, with friends or family members getting to live vicariously through the actor. In the case of actor Maya Erskine, who recently starred as one half of the spy duo "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on Prime, one particularly intense "Star Wars" fan in her family even (jokingly) threatened to disown her if she didn't take a role on the Disney+ series "Obi-Wan Kenobi."

Kevin Costner is one of the most recognizable names in the movie industry, without a doubt. He has starred in numerous movies, including The Untouchables, Jkf, The Bodyguard, and others, but it seems that was Kevin Costner really likes is the western genre. He starred in Wyatt Earp, directed and starred in Dances with Wolves, which earned him two Oscars, and starred in the western series Hatfields & McCoys and Yellowstone, and he is currently working on a four-part movie series, Horizon: An American Saga, which is going to be set in the Civil War era, and we have just received confirmation of the first film’s epic runtime. The movie is set to premiere on May 19, 2024 at the Cannes Film Festival, and ahead of the premiere, a new official trailer has been revealed!
In short, Kevin Costner is directing, starring, and co-writing the saga, with Jon Baird joining him as co-writer.

This holiday season is one where the offspring of iconic Hollywood families come together, apparently.
“Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point,” which is set to debut in the Director’s Fortnight at Cannes, stars Francesca Scorsese and Sawyer Spielberg, two film stars in their own rite who hail from respective auteurs Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.
Decade-plus indie staple Michael Cera leads the latest feature directed by Tyler Taormina; Cera also produces the ensemble family dramedy that marks Taormina’s follow-up to his 2019 coming-of-age comedy “Ham on Rye.”
Set during one Christmas Eve, a family gathers for what could be the last holiday in their ancestral home. As the night wears on and generational tensions arise, one of the teenagers sneaks out with her friends to claim the wintry suburb for her own, per the official synopsis. Cera is seen donning a cop uniform in one of the first look images,...

Exclusive: National Geographic is wading into one of psychology’s most debated studies from the past 50 years. The network has given a green light to The Stanford Prison Experiment: Unlocking The Truth (wt), a three-part docuseries from Juliette Eisner, Alex Braverman and Muck Media, the producers behind Nat Geo’s Emmy-nominated Trafficked: Underworlds with Mariana van Zeller.
Led by Stanford psychology professor Dr. Phillip Zimbardo, the six-day Stanford Prison Experiment was Zimbardo’s attempt to understand the power of situation over human behavior. In 1971, Zimbardo paid two dozen college-aged participants to live in a mock prison, observing how randomly assigned “prisoner” and “guard” roles influenced behavior. What started out as a self-contained university experiment turned into a media spectacle that captured the imagination and attention of the world, defining our understanding of human nature and forever changing the course of psychology.

Considering the Walt Disney Company owns, well, everything these days, calling one of their films "underrated" seems a little silly. And yet, if you ask me, "Sky High" is undoubtedly the leader of the underrated live-action Disney roster. Just before Disney became the parent company of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studio put out a family-friendly coming-of-age superhero comedy that, as /Film's Rafael Motamayor once described, "poked fun at expanded universes, superhero legacies, and every trope in the book." The story centered on teenager Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano), the son of famed superheroes Steve Stronghold/The Commander (Kurt Russell) and Josie DeMarco-Stronghold/Jetstream (Kelly Preston). He's poised to be the next great hero after he starts training at Sky High — a super-secret floating school for superheroes and sidekicks — but Will doesn't have any powers.

Selena Gomez has seen her “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars and guest stars get nominated for and win Emmys the past two years while she sat on the sidelines. Will the third time finally be the charm? She’s currently in fifth place in the Best Comedy Actress odds. Given her previous snubs, you’d be justified to doubt her chances, but we’ve been through this before with a twice snubbed actress-singer who pulled through on her third try under very similar circumstances: Mandy Moore.
“This Is Us” was a breakout hit when it premiered in 2016 on NBC. In 2017, it earned 10 Emmy nominations for its freshman installment, including Best Drama Series and seven acting bids — but not for Moore in Best Drama Actress. It won two awards: Best Drama Actor for Sterling K. Brown, who prevailed over his TV dad Milo Ventimiglia, a surprise nominee, and Best Drama Guest Actor for Gerald McRaney,...

Robert Oppenheimer and Robert Downey Jr.’s supporting turn as a vengeful bureaucrat.

Disney is a huge conglomerate with stakes in every genre of films and shows. The House of Mouse has established itself in genres such as sci-fi with Star Wars, animation with Pixar and Disney Animation, and the superhero genre with Marvel. The company also acquired Fox Studios, thus owning the Avatar franchise as well.
While Disney has been the parent company of these studios, they largely operate on their own. Hence, when Kung Fu Panda 4 director Mike Mitchell was asked if his Kurt Russell starring superhero film Sky High would get a sequel, he mentioned that it would make more sense for Marvel to take over and develop the film as Disney wanted Marvel to be in charge of superheroes.

Filmmaker Kevin Smith is best known for his work in the comedy genre. His movies often center on comic book and Star Wars-loving guys, and tend to be packed with stoner humor and vulgar but amusing conversations about sex. But once he was more than a decade and several movies into his movie career, he decided to switch things up, making a horror film that was inspired by disturbing headlines and is packed with death, damnation – and some damn fine acting. Released in 2011, Kevin Smith’s first horror movie was called Red State (watch it Here), and if you haven’t seen it, it’s the best horror movie you never saw.

At the Cannes Film Festival in 2018, Kristen Stewart announced that her feature directorial debut would be an adaptation of “The Chronology of Water,” the 2011 memoir by author Lidia Yuknavitch. Since then, Stewart has been pounding the pavement to drum up financing for the project. But despite her track record of headlining some of the most well regarded independent films of the last 10 years — from “Clouds of Sils Maria” to “Spencer” — and despite the fact that Imogen Poots is attached to star as Yuknavitch, and that Ridley Scott is producing through his production company Scott Free, Stewart has been unable to secure the backing she needs to move forward.
This frustrating experience has pushed Stewart to make a surprising announcement about “The Chronology of Water” during her interview for Variety’s Jan. 11 cover story.
“I’m going to make this movie before I ever work for someone else,” she says, before breaking into nervous laughter.

Minx didn’t have much luck. After being canceled by HBO Max after one season, the erotic comedy was saved by Starz, but Minx has been canceled yet again following its second season.
The news isn’t all that surprising, but still a blow for fans of the series. Set in 1970s Los Angeles, Minx stars Ophelia Lovibond as Joyce, an “earnest young feminist who joins forces with low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women.” In addition to Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson, Minx also stars Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, Michael Angarano, and Oscar Montoya. The first season stands at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, although its audience score is much lower.

Starz will not be proceeding with a third season of 1970s-set series Minx.
The news is not surprising. Minx star Jake Johnson told Deadline last month that he did not expect a Season 3 renewal for the period erotic comedy, whose Season 2 finale aired Sept. 8.
Starz last January stepped in to rescue Minx, starring Ophelia Lovibond and Johnson, following the series’ cancellation by Max (then HBO Max) as part of cost-cutting tax write-offs while production was wrapping on Season 2. The premium network, which is in the process of cutting ties with owner Lionsgate, picked up both Season 1 and the unaired Season 2 of Minx, which is produced by Lionsgate Television. Both seasons will remain on the Starz app and all major platforms.

Bottom Dollar is closing shop.
Starz has opted to cancel Minx, the comedy about the first porn magazine for women, after a two-season run. The news comes after the series from creator Ellen Rapoport was originally developed for Warner Bros. Discovery streamer Max, which aired the first season and paid for a second before ultimately scrapping the show as a tax write-off with mere days remaining before production on the sophomore run was completed.
Minx was shopped by producers Lionsgate Television with the studio ultimately setting up the comedy starring Jake Johnson and Ophelia Lovibond at Starz, which is currently controlled by its parent company, Lionsgate. Max effectively paid to produce season two, with Lionsgate footing the bill to complete production and market season two. The second season premiered in July, in the thick of the writers and performers’ strikes making it challenging for cast members and producers to promote the show’s return.

“Minx” has been canceled at Starz, Variety has learned.
This now marks the second time the series has been canceled. The first season of the comedy originally aired on Max, where it was renewed for a second season before it was canceled in a cost-cutting move.
Starz then announced that they had acquired the second season of the show and would air it along with the first. Season 2 debuted on Starz on July 21. Both seasons remain available to stream on the Starz app and platforms.
The show received positive reviews from critics, holding an average critical approval rating of 93% over both seasons on Rotten Tomatoes. It failed to find a large audience, however, with the linear airings on Starz of Season 2 averaging less than 100,000 viewers per episode. There is no streaming viewership data publicly available for the series.

Avenues (2017) filmmaker Michael Angarano is obviously best known for an actor career that has spanned two-plus decades (and most recently seen in Oppenheimer) but his sophomore feature checks off some boxes for the type of hapless comedy that could fit into Park City. Christopher Nolan took a playful swipe at streaming while introducing a Los Angeles screening of “Oppenheimer” that was devoted to spotlighting the film’s craft. Crew members reunited for the event Monday evening, billed as “The Story of Our Time: The Making of ‘Oppenheimer.'” The director said a lot of time and energy has gone into assembling the “Oppenheimer” Blu-ray so that it preserves the film’s soundscape, which is one reason moviegoers should buy a physical copy as opposed to waiting for the movie to stream.
“Obviously ‘Oppenheimer’ has been quite a ride for us and now it is time for me to release a home version of the film. I’ve been working very hard on it for months,” Nolan said. “I’m known for my love of theatrical and put my whole life into that, but, the truth is, the way the film goes out at home is equally important.

When Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” crossed the $910 million mark at the worldwide box office, it surpassed “Bohemian Rhapsody” to become the highest-grossing biopic in history (unadjusted for inflation). To date, the “Oppenheimer” box office tally stands at $942 million. But for Nolan, his biographical drama about theoretical physicist and father of the atomic bomb J. Robert Oppenheimer was never designed as a “biopic.” That’s not a genre Nolan’s brain operates in.
Nolan recently joined his producer and wife Emma Thomas and author Kai Bird, whose book “American Prometheus” served as the basis for “Oppenheimer,” for a City University of New York event in which he rejected the concept of the “biopic.” Bird asked Nolan why “Oppenheimer” doesn’t dabble in its title character’s childhood.
“There is a tendency in biography post-Freud to attribute characteristics of the person you’re dealing with to their genetics from their parents.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was released in various film formats, the rarest being the IMAX 70mm print. There are reportedly only 30 screens worldwide showing the IMAX 70mm version of Oppenheimer, which has led fans to take lengthy road trips to be able to see it.
With televisions getting bigger and better, and some even opting for projectors, many folks can replicate a theatrical experience in the comfort of their own homes. Still, premium large formats like IMAX 70mm are something else entirely. Despite the small number of theaters screening Oppenheimer in IMAX 70mm, a report from Variety states that those screenings account for $17 million of the movie’s box office take. One fan even made a 14-hour round-trip journey to catch a 2 pm screening in Providence, R.I. “It was definitely worth it,” he said.

If there's one thing that you can say about Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer," it's that the three-hour historical epic about the father of the atomic bomb boasts an incredibly deep bench. Nolan packs the film with well-known and well-liked actors, with many big names seemingly happy to sign on for little more than a cameo if it let them be part of "Oppenheimer." But aside from the Matt Damons and Kenneth Branaghs, there's also a surprising number of cast members who began their careers as child stars.
Some came up during the mid-2000s golden age of the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, while others date back decades earlier. Also, several have since gone on to lead well-developed and respected careers, while others are still in the process of proving themselves as adult actors in their own right. Whether they're child stars who audiences are surprised to see in grown-up roles,...

At 180 minutes, it’s not improbable to think there are no deleted scenes for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Sometimes, fans look forward to home release materials getting packed with extras, but Cillian Murphy is here to burst the bubble, saying what you see is what you get when it comes to Nolan’s latest opus.
Speaking with Collider, Murphy said there’s a meticulous method to Nolan’s madness, leaving no opportunity for scenes to fall onto the cutting room floor. “There’s no deleted scenes in Chris Nolan movies,” Murphy commented. “That’s why there are no DVD extras on his movies because the script is the movie. He knows exactly what’s going to end up – he’s not fiddling around with it trying to change the story. That is the movie.”
Murphy’s well-versed in Nolan’s ways after teaming up with the acclaimed director on multiple feature-length projects.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is the director’s first R-rated film in twenty years, but the film’s nudity hasn’t been accepted everywhere in the world. It’s been reported that Oppenheimer has been censored in several countries outside of the U.S.
The censored scene involves Florence Pugh’s Jean Tatlock as she speaks with Cillian Murphy’s J. Robert Oppenheimer. In the original version of the scene, Pugh is naked, but she’s been given a CG black dress to cover her body.

The altered Oppenheimer scene can be found playing in Indian and Middle Eastern theaters, which typically don’t allow movies that feature sex or nudity. Variety notes that Oppenheimer was passed with a U/A certificate in India.

“Now I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds” is the famous quote from the Bhagavad Gita that physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer spoke upon witnessing the first denotation of a nuclear device, as the world entered the new era of nuclear weapons. Oppenheimer is Christopher Nolan’s epic drama about Oppenheimer, his work on the Manhattan Project, and his treatment after the war. The biographical drama starts like a historical thriller and ends like a profound warning to the world, all set against the sweep of history that changed the world.
Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning biography “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer” by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, Nolan’s epic film in fact opens with a reminder of that myth of the man who stole...
