The sci-fi action TV series The Six Million Dollar Man was so incredibly popular when it was running on ABC back in the 1970s, it’s shocking that the franchise hasn’t received a revival outside of a few TV movies that aired in the ’80s and ’90s. It’s not for a lack of trying – in fact, an update called The Six Billion Dollar Man has been making its way through development hell for almost thirty years at this point. Mark Wahlberg has been attached to star in the project since 2014… and during a recent interview with Collider, Wahlberg expressed hope that The Six Billion Dollar Man will finally be going into production soon.
Inspired by Martin Caidin’s 1972 novel Cyborg (which received three sequels), The Six Million Dollar Man had the following synopsis: After a severely injured test pilot is rebuilt with nuclear-powered bionic limbs and implants, he serves as an intelligence agent.

Fitness personality and television icon Jack Lalanne is getting the biopic treatment, both in nonfiction and narrative forms.
Mark Wahlberg and his Unrealistic Ideas banner will partner with Wonderfilm Media and Lalanne’s widow, Elaine, and the Lalanne family on a documentary feature and a narrative film about the fitness pioneer.
Before wellness was christened an industry and fitness deemed a lifestyle, Lalanne was an exercise and nutrition guru. After opening a gym in Oakland in the 1930s (often credited as the nation’s first fitness club), he began to evangelize the benefits of personal health, later hosting the fitness TV show The Jack Lalanne Show from 1951 to 1985. A longtime bodybuilder, Lalanne also became synonymous with his feats of strength, including, at 60 years old, swimming to Alcatraz while handcuffed.
“It doesn’t matter where you go, there is a health club and it all started with Jack Lalanne,” said bodybuilder...

Will Ferrell was, at one point, about as big of a star as one can hope to find in the world of comedy. Following his legendary stint on "Saturday Night Live," the actor had great success in movies such as "Anchorman" and "Step Brothers" in the first decade of the 2000s. But in 2008, Ferrell led an all-star cast that also included the likes of Woody Harrelson, Andre 3000, Will Arnett, and many other famous comedy faces that audiences know and love in a basketball comedy called "Semi-Pro." It was a movie with all the talent in the world which, unfortunately, didn't quite live up to expectations at the time of its release.
While the film topped the box office on its opening weekend back in March of 2008, it topped out at $44 million worldwide against a reported budget of $55 million. Critics also were not terribly kind to the sports comedy at the time.

There are few tasks in Hollywood harder than making a sequel which improves on the original. Writing a follow-up to a bonafide modern Christmas classic, however, might be one of them!
When Elf first arrived in theaters back in November 2003, few could have predicted it would go on to become one of the most beloved Christmas movies of the 21st century. Yet Elf was that rare example of cinematic lighting in a bottle; the coming together of actors and filmmakers destined for big things.
Will Ferrell was a fast-rising comedic star fresh from Saturday Night Live and having only recently stolen the show in Todd Phillips’ frat house comedy Old School. Zooey Deschanel had a string of credits to her name, but it was Elf that helped establish the “manic pixie dream girl” persona that would bring her repeated success in the decade that followed. Even director Jon Favreau was...

Ice Cube has confirmed that he exited Oh Hell No, a Sony comedy in which he would have starred opposite Jack Black, after refusing to comply with a requirement that he be vaccinated against Covid-19.
“I turned down a movie because I didn’t want to get the motherf-cking jab. I turned down 9 million because I didn’t want to get the jab,” he said during an episode of the podcast Million Dollaz Worth of Game published on Monday. “F-ck that jab, and f-ck y’all for trying to make me get it. So, I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now.”
Ice Cube then went on to clarify that he didn’t actually “turn down” the acting job and the paycheck accompanying it, instead being forced out of the project when he declined to get vaccinated. “Those motherf-ckers didn’t give it to me because I wouldn’t get the shot.

Sony revealed a number of release-date moves tonight, including taking the Jack Black comedy Oh Hell No off the schedule, dating the Sandra Oh horror pic Umma for next month and confirming the Tom Hanks-led remake A Man Called Otto for Christmas Day, as Deadline reported last week.
The studio also said tonight that the Whitney Houston biopic I Wanna Dance with Somebody starring Naomi Ackie will open two days earlier than planned, now on Wednesday, December 21, and it moved Sam Raimi’s Adam Driver-led sci-fi thriller 65 back nearly a year to April 14, 2023. It had been set for this April 29.
Stage 6’s Umma — Korean for “mother” — has been set for March 18, just a month from now. The pic from writer-director Iris K. Shim follows Amanda (Oh) and her daughter (Fivel Stewart) living a quiet life on an American farm. But when the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea,...

Exclusive: Imagine Entertainment has tapped Netflix executive Kristen Zolner as Head of Imagine Television. This marks the first major executive hire since Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns, co-founders of Imagine-owned Jax Media, were named Presidents of Imagine Entertainment this month, overseeing film and television for Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s indie company, which has been the center of acquisition speculation.
Zolner, who will oversee all scripted television development and production, succeeds Samie Kim Falvey, who left in September to join Picturestart.
“We have worked with Kristen across many shows for years and have always been wildly impressed by her taste and creative instincts. We are confident in her ability to push boundaries and deliver ground-breaking television,” Hernandez and Burns said in a joint statement.

Tonight on SNL, Weekend Update‘s anchors welcomed Ice Cube (Kenan Thompson) to the desk to discuss reports that he’d exited Sony comedy Oh Hell No after declining to get the Covid-19 vaccine.
Cube sported a full beard, noting that he’s going through “a gangster lumberjack phase,” only to have his feet held to the fire by Michael Che.
Why won’t he take the vaccine, the anchor wondered?
“Hey look, man. I’d just rather be myself than take that vaccine, like you other three billion bozos,” said the rapper and actor.
“Yeah, but that’s why you lost this movie,” Che observed.
“Not my loss, your loss. Oh Hell No was going to feature the greatest comedy duo of all time: Ice Cube, Jack Black,” Ice Cube retorted. “The comedy chemistry, man. You know what I’m saying? Try to guess my catchphrase though.”

Sony Pictures has scheduled two major tentpole films for 2022: David Leitch’s “Bullet Train” will debut on April 8, and Kitao Sakurai’s comedy “Oh Hell No” will release on July 1.
Based on the book “Maria Beetle” by Kotaro Isaka, “Bullet Train” follows five assassins who find themselves on a bullet train in Japan and realize that their assignments are related. The film’s ensemble cast will Brad Pitt, Joey King, Andrew Koji, Brian Tyree Henry, Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Benito A Martínez Ocasio and Sandra Bullock.
Leitch, who directed “John Wick” and “Atomic Blonde,” will helm the film from a screenplay by Zak Olkewicz. Kelly McCormick, Leitch and Antoine Fuqua serve as producers on the project. Ryosuke Saegusa, Yuma Terada, Brent O’Connor and Kat Samick are executive producers. It was reported by Variety back in December that the set was shut down due to a Covid scare.

Flock Of Dudes is a star-studded bromance dissection about becoming one with maturity, yet Bob Castrone’s film lacks the same motivations that its characters lazily ignore. A who’s who of almost A-list comedians float through a vague, generic period of rediscovery without ever making good on their thematic promises. Comedics flounder, drama dissipates and relationships aimlessly shamble on for far too long, until Castrone’s reformed herd of drunken steers shuffles towards an expected finality. Scot Armstrong’s Search Party went the bromigo route earlier this year, and while Castrone’s film is admittedly more stable, at lest Armstrong swung for the fences. Only Eric André delivers as expected here, while a host of other extremely funny comedians play drab, unfunny versions of themselves – because this is a serious movie, dammit!

Ahead of its November 2nd premiere on Wgn America, Salem Season 3 is teased in new character portraits featuring faces both familiar and new.
Press Release: Los Angeles, August 25, 2016 – In anticipation of the season three premiere of Wgn America’s hit supernatural thriller “Salem,” the network has released character portraits featuring the twisted and sexy cast, including the first-look at Samuel Roukin who portrays The Sentinel, a fallen angel and protector of the Devil boy (Oliver Bell). The third season of “Salem” dawns with the triumph of the witches’ plan to remake the New World by bringing the devil to earth and making Salem his capital. Scot Armstrong’s Search Party, which is packed to the gils with comedic talent — most of whom, thankfully, have found work that’s more tailored to their abilities — is mostly just a terrible movie. But while it’s a deeply unpleasant experience, dragging down even the most potentially funny scenes by ramming in tone-deaf jokes or indifferent rhythms, it’s also instructive in demonstrating how not to make incredibly funny people humiliate themselves for 90 minutes.
The plot of Search Party has been repeated ad nauseam so many times in the years since Todd Phillips’ irritatingly influential fratty touchstone The Hangover that not even the movie feels particularly invested in mapping out the geography or progression of its narrative. Search Party is set in motion within the opening minutes as as Nardo (Thomas Middlemitch) passes around a joint in a hotboxed van with his two life-long friends, Evan (Adam Pally) and...

Search Party is one of those shelved Black List productions you so desperately want to succeed, if only for its cast of on-the-bubble, breakout-seeking lead actors. T.J. Miller, Thomas Middleditch and Adam Pally are all star-worthy comedians (Silicone Valley/The Final Girls/Night Owls/Happy Endings), but Scot Armstrong’s directorial debut struggles to muster its own frat-comedy voice (Armstrong wrote a majority of Todd Phillips’ films). There are funny moments, and enjoyably deranged comedic beats, but they’re sandwiched between characters who only find humor in offensive insults and an obsession with Middleditch’s dangling member. It’s no direct-to-dvd Road Trip sequel, but stoner comedy of the highest order this is not – pun intended.
Armstrong’s wild ride begins when Jason (T.J. Miller) and Evan (Adam Pally) ruin their best friend’s wedding, sending the depressed groom, Nardo (Thomas Middleditch), into an emotional draught. With his heart still broken,...

Long before T.J. Miller was effortlessly riffing off Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool, the actor-cum-comedian headlined Scot Armstrong’s R-rated comedy Search Party, and now that the feature is finally on the verge of a theatrical release here in the States, We Got This Covered has an exclusive batch of images to share with our readers.

Long before T.J. It takes approximately two minutes of speaking to Andrew Dice Clay before he starts a routine. "I was just in New York," he says in the same stentorian, street-tough voice that narrated his filthiest nursery rhymes at a sold-out Madison Square Garden in 1990. "It was so cold. I hate fuckin' bundling up, like. You know how you got to do it – the fuckin' scarf with the hat and the bullshit. But, you know, I love New York. I'm a Brooklyn boy."

Back in the 1980s and 1990s, it seemed like every comedy series on television was centered on a stand-up comic whose act served as the primary inspiration for the stories being told each week. Seinfeld, Roseanne, Everybody Loves Raymond and many more followed this model, and yet, despite the prevalence of comedians-turned-tv-stars, Andrew Dice Clay — one of the most popular comedians of the late 1980s — never was able to find that starring vehicle that would make him a staple of network television.
Over the years, Clay tried multiple times to headline his own show, but short-lived attempts like Bless This House and Hitz not only failed to gain any traction, they were roundly derided as some of the worst shows of their respective years. However, television is in a very different place nowadays. In a world where a revamped Full House exists, it...

More than 25 years after he was a big enough name to sell out Madison Square Garden on consecutive nights, much-maligned comic icon Andrew Dice Clay has been laying an honorable foundation for a comeback. A strong turn in Woody Allen's Oscar-winning Blue Jasmine and a spectacularly high-intensity guest role in this winter's Vinyl pilot proved that Clay is a performer worthy of some serious consideration. By that standard, or based on those expectations, Showtime's Dice, created by Scot Armstrong, is a bit of a disappointment. Rather than continuing Clay's progress at actually proving himself more than

Originally scheduled for a 2014 release, Search Party will finally arrive in theaters on May 13, 2016. The movie seems very much like a blatant attempt to cash in on the success of The Hangover franchise, but it does have a super appealing cast: Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Adam Pally, Alison Brie, Jason Mantzoukas, Krysten Ritter, and more all pop up here. This movie probably would have played a lot differently in 2014 since its cast members were all very visible at that time: Silicon Valley was first getting started, Community was in its Dan Harmon-led fifth season, and Happy Endings had just wrapped up a short-lived but comedically spectacular run on ABC. In any case, I hope this will be a case in which the movie was worth the wait, but when your first red-band trailer involves a donkey vomiting as a reaction shot in the first ten seconds, that might not be a great sign.

Shot almost three years ago, "The Hangover Part II" co-writer Scot Armstrong's directorial debut effort "Search Party" looks to be finally getting a release this Summer. Ahead of that, a new red-band trailer is out today.
T.J. Miller and Adam Pally play Jason and Evan, friends of groom-to-be Nardo (Thomas Middleditch). Convinced Nardo is making a huge mistake, Jason bursts into the wedding and ruins it.
Devastated, Nardo heads to Mexico to win back his bride, only to wind up naked and stranded with no one to call for help but Jason and Evan. The R-rated comedy hits cinemas an on demand from May 13th.

Read More: Andrew Dice Clay Reinvents Himself as Himself in 'Dice' Poster If you were club-jumping in the '80s, then there's no need to explain who Andrew Dice Clay is, was or who he's become today. But for the younger generation of TV fans, the first comic to sell out Madison Square Garden is more than just that funny guy from "Blue Jasmine." He's a controversial entertainment figure to the nth degree, and he's about to get back in action via everyone's favorite resurfacing platform: television. The upcoming Showtime comedy "Dice" tracks the Brooklyn comic as he tries to make a comeback in Las Vegas. Described as a "semi-autobiographical" story, the six-episode series was created by Scot Armstrong ("Old School") and aims to shine a light on a version of "The Diceman" we've never seen before. Watch the trailer below and check out "Dice" when it premieres Sunday,...

Hickory dickory dock: Showtime’s Andrew Dice Clay comeback series dropped its first trailer on Thursday, along with an April 10 release date. The upcoming show sees Clay playing an exaggerated (we hope) version of himself, relocated to Las Vegas, where he is desperate to make a stand-up comedy comeback. For those who don’t remember, in the late 1980s Dice soared to the absolute heights of stand-up comedy, selling out arenas armed essentially with just a gimmick. Without any real jokes or material, however, he had a fall that was just as swift and severe. Created by Scot Armstrong, “Dice” sees the once-massive entertainer.

Brody will guest star in one episode playing himself, while Bracco will appear in two episodes as Toni, a Vegas overlord who owns Clay’s gambling debts. In a series regular role, Kevin Corrigan will star as Milkshake, Dice’s best friend and right-hand man. Created by Scot Armstrong, “Dice” chronicles the semi-true stories of Clay, whose brand of humor often gets him in trouble. Once on top, the comedian now must work to resurrect his career,...

Divisive comic Andrew Dice Clay is determined to revive his career, and he may have finally secured a path to glory. The Las Vegas stand-up is set to star in a six-episode, half-hour series for Showtime that Variety claims will use Clay’s “rags-to-riches-to-rags trajectory” as “fodder” for the show.
A semi-autobiographical scripted series – there’s an oxymoron – Clay will shoot this summer in Vegas and follow the once-famous superstar as he tries to maintain a family life whilst rebuilding his failing career.
The show was created by writer Scot Armstrong (The Hangover Part II) and Fox 21 TV Studios, with Fox execs apparently funding a presentation for Showtime out of their own pockets. Both Clay and Armstrong will executive produce the series along with Daybreakers‘ duo Sean and Bryan Furst, Richard Shepard and Bruce Rubenstein.

It looks like the classic film Problem Child is heading for production. NBC is cherry picking their upcoming pilots and one of those was this cult classic. So far all we know is that it is written by Scot Armstrong. No word on their casting choices yet.

What happens when the key leads of HBO's "Silicon Valley" (Tj Miller and Thomas Middleditch) along with Adam Pally, Alison Brie, Krysten Ritter, Shannon Woodward, Aziz Ansari, Jason Mantzoukas, and Delroy Lindo make a movie that no one seems to be aware of? Well, you get "Search Party," and coming from the guy who wrote "Road Trip," "Old School," and "The Hangover Part II," that alone should give you a good idea of what this is all about. Scot Armstrong moves from the writing desk to the director's chair for his first outing, which tells the story of a guy whose wedding gets ruined, who then winds up naked in the middle of Mexico, gets mixed up with drug dealers and has to get his friends to come and save him. Frankly, it sounds like all of Armstrong's previous movies squashed together and rolled into one, and perhaps there's a...
