Soundgarden and the estate of the late Chris Cornell (led by his widow Vicky Cornell) have reached an “amicable out-of-court resolution,” reconciling the long-running legal disputes between the two parties.
The agreement will lead to the release of Chris Cornell’s final recordings with Soundgarden, which had been one of the points of contention, among other disagreements.
A joint statement was posted to the Soundgarden and Chris Cornell social media pages announcing the news:
“Soundgarden and Vicky Cornell, on behalf of the Estate of Chris Cornell, are happy to announce they have reached an amicable out of court resolution. The reconciliation marks a new partnership between the two parties, which will allow Soundgarden fans around the world to hear the final songs that the band and Chris were working on. Early on in the season finale of Sunday night’s (May 23) episode of “American Idol,” judge Luke Bryan informed fellow country singer Chayce Beckham he earned the ultimate prize: a chance for the two of them to go fishing.
“Win or lose, we’re going bass fishing,” Bryan said.
Those plans are now on hold, as the 24-year old Apple Valley, California resident was crowned the show’s 2021 victor.
“Your world is about to change,” judge Katy Perry told the now former forklift driver, who’ll release music via BMG and is Nashville bound.
Beckham was an early favorite in auditions after wowing the judges with a performance of ‘What Brings Life Also Kills” by Kolton Moore and the Clever Few, prompting Perry to remark he sounded like “the heart of America.”
Throughout the competition, Bryan repeatedly emphasized how “cool” Beckham was on stage, at one point going so far...

“American Idol” top four finalist Casey Bishop made a bold move Sunday night, sitting down with mentor Finneas to take on Billie Eilish’s “Wish You Were Gay.” She rocked the song’s co-writer/producer, and the judges, too — yet, despite all that love, apparently not everyone wished she would stay.
“So, you’re singing my sister’s song,” Finneas said to the 16-year-old Estero, Florida native about the track. “The greatest honor as a songwriter is hearing the song covered, and Casey has got an incredible instrument,” he continued, advising the teen to sing the song as if “these are lyrics you just thought up before you started singing.”
Dressed in white, Bishop delivered an emotional version of the song that had the judges lavishing praise on the performance.
“You just crushed every aspect of that whole thing,” Luke Bryan gushed. “In my opinion it was your best; it...

On Sunday, May 16 Spence will compete against Casey Bishop, Chayce Beckham and Grace Kinstler for a spot in the Season 19 finale.

“American Idol” is just one week away from crowning the season 19 winner. Only three of the Top 4 set to sing on May 16 will make it to the finale. That makes the song choices by Casey Bishop, Chayce Beckham, Grace Kinstler and Willie Spence even more important. We’ve done some digging and discovered the titles of the tunes that the remaining season 19 contestants will perform. Scroll down for these “American Idol” spoilers of the Top 4 songs for May 16.
The Top 4 will sing three songs apiece in the two-hour episode airing live coast-to-coast on Sunday: a song honoring their personal idol; a duet produced by guest mentor Finneas; and their winner’s single. There were to be five semi-finalists but Caleb Kennedy left the show after a video surfaced in which he was sitting next to a man in a white hood.

“American Idol” has set no fewer than a dozen music stars for the series’ grand finale May 23 — three of whom may be fairly predictable, given that Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry are the show’s judges.
Not quite as foreseeable in the final show’s performing pecking order: Sheryl Crow, Chaka Khan, Luke Combs, Mickey Guyton, Lindsey Buckingham, Fall Out Boy, Alessia Cara, Leona Lewis and Macklemore.
The show will air on ABC live across time zones May 23 at 8 p.m. Et/5 Pt.
Most of the 12 have been household names for some years, but Guyton is just becoming one, for many, after years of being a critical favorite on the country scene. She had her most high-profile TV gig recently when she co-hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards with Keith Urban. Weeks prior to that, she had a prime performance slot on the Grammys.
So ready for the @AmericanIdol finale!

Sunday’s special Mother’s Day edition of American Idol definitely lived up to its name, as two fan-favorite singers were dealt a mother of a blow. Plus, the Top 7 performed songs by Coldplay — the unofficial band of mothers everywhere!
As always, let’s begin with the results. Once America’s votes were tallied, Arthur Gunn and Hunter Metts were banished to obscurity. That leaves Casey Bishop, Chayce Beckham, Willie Spence, Caleb Kennedy and Grace Kinstler as the season’s Top 5.

“American Idol” is getting down to the final few shows of season 19. On Sunday, May 9 the T0p 7 are set to perform two apiece: one from the Coldplay back catalog and the other in tribute to Mother’s Day. This two-hour show will air live nationwide on ABC and will conclude with Ryan Seacrest revealing the Top 5.
Of the lucky seven contestants, a half dozen are drawn from the regular competition — Caleb Kennedy, Casey Bishop, Chayce Beckham Grace Kinstler, Hunter Metts and Willie Spence — while the final finalist, Arthur Gunn, was the winner of the Comeback Special, which aired on April 19. Gunn, who was the season 18 runner-up, has an early lead in our poll of viewers making their “American Idol” season 19 winner predictions.

Grace Kinstler enjoyed an early lead in our “American Idol” winner predictions for season 19. Before the Top 10 sang on May 2, she had successfully fought off a challenge from another fan favorite, Willie Spence. He’d be only the second Black man to win this talent competition (Ruben Studdard took the season 2 title over Clay Aiken way back in 2003).
But Grace and Willie now face a strong new challenger for the season 19 championship: Arthur Gunn. The season 18 runner-up was thrown a lifeline by producers who invited him to compete for a spot in the Top 10 on the Comeback Special on April 19. He joined nine other also-rans from season 18 who sang for America’s votes. He won this coveted slot with his cover of “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls.

If Gold Derby’s predictions for “American Idol” Season 19 come true, Willie Spence is about to make history as the first Black male winner since Ruben Studdard. The “velvet teddy bear” won Season 2 of the reality TV singing sensation in 2003 over Clay Aiken and is still considered one of the best champions even two decades later. However, a Black man has never made it to the finale ever since, either as the winner or the runner-up. Can Willie break that curse?

The Top 12 contestants for Season 19 of “American Idol” were revealed on Monday’s episode, following America’s vote and two saves from judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. They will perform again on Sunday, April 18 before three more are eliminated heading into the Top 10. That final slot will be filled by a comeback artist from Season 18, hoping to earn a second shot at the title after Covid-19 upended their chances to perform on the main stage of the ABC reality TV show last year.

Just last week, “American Idol” viewers declared that Grace Kinstler was the contestant most likely to win Season 19. Well, things have changed. American Idol's return to the studio with a live audience comes with a major caveat.
Luke Bryan has been forced to pull out of the season's first live show after contracting Covid-19.
“I’m sad to say I won’t be a part of tonight’s first live @americanidol show,” Bryan shared on social media Monday morning.
“I tested positive for Covid but I’m doing well and look forward to being back at it soon.”
The news means that producers have brought in a replacement for tonight's two-hour episode, which features the first episode with a studio audience since Covid-19 shut the show down for the first time last season.
But ABC has a treat for fans in Bryan's absence.
Paula Abdul, an original judge when the series debuted on Fox, will fill the vacant seat temporarily.
Abdul joins Katy Perry and Lionel Richie on the new episode of the series.

Luke Bryan‘s early morning tweet has sent shockwaves through the “American Idol” universe. “I’m sad to say I won’t be a part of tonight’s first live show,” he writes on social media. “I tested positive for Covid but I’m doing well and look forward to being back at it soon.” With Bryan out of commission for the time being, ABC has hired a reality TV alum who’s no stranger to finding talent: Paula Abdul.
Abdul was one of the three original “American Idol” judges, sitting between Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson for eight seasons back when it aired on Fox. She will now reunite with longtime “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest, and she’ll sit alongside regular judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Abdul was most recently seen as a panelist on Fox’s “The Masked Dancer,” where she came into contact with former “Idol” winner Jordin Sparks.

Gold Derby’s “American Idol” predictions center has been open for less than a week, but we already have ourselves a front-runner to win Season 19: Grace Kinstler. This 20-year-old college student from Lakewood, Il went viral with her original audition of “Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin, earning more YouTube views than anyone not named Claudia Conway.
Grace easily scored a Golden Ticket to Hollywood, where she’s been a fan-fave ever since. According to our odds, Willie Spence is currently in second place to win, while Chayce Beckham comes in third. Do you agree with your fellow “Idol” fans that Grace is the one to beat? Despite delivering Showstopper performances on Sunday night’s episode of “American Idol,” some contestants suffered the toughest cut yet and were sent packing by judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Only 10 contestants moved one step closer to their dream. On March 29, more show-stopping performances took place at the Dolby Theatre before the judges delivered their toughest decisions of season 19.
After the two nights of Showstoppers, only two dozen artists will make the cut. This top tier of performers will then fight it out for the chance to be on the live shows, which begin in early April. At that point, you will be able to predict the outcome of each episode in our predictions center.

And then there were 24. American Idol on Monday officially narrowed down its pool of talent, bringing viewers one step closer to actually having a say in who gets to move forward — which is good, because the judges made some truly questionable calls throughout this process.
Picking up where Sunday’s episode left off, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie delivered the news to Alanis Sophia and Casey Bishop that they’re both going through to the Top 24, which came as a shock to absolutely zero people watching from home.

So let’s break down which singers are still in the game, and which have reached the end of their Idol journeys. (Spoiler alert: We did not agree with all of the judges’ decisions this week.)
