You’re watching your favorite show, and one of the main characters is in a jam.
He’s held captive by mercenaries and, for the past two episodes, has struggled to escape a labyrinthine prison. It’s unclear whether our hero will live or die, but the next episode opens with a warning: “The following contains a depiction of suicide. Viewer discretion is advised.” Welp, you think, I know how this story ends.
So what happens when trigger warnings need spoiler warnings? As content disclaimers trend in television, some viewers are taking issue when they give away crucial plot details or ruin surprises.
Take Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer,” which dulled a shocking assault scene with a preemptive warning reading, “The following episode contains depictions of sexual violence which some viewers may find troubling.” Or Apple TV+’s “Severance,” which tipped viewers off to an episode cliffhanger by revealing, “The following contains a depiction of self-harm.

A documentary about a giant King Kong statue? A horror film about a shower curtain? It can only be Crowdfunding Friday...
On the 3rd March, Kickstarter passed a significant milestone in its five years of existence. Across a variety of projects, around 5.7 million people made pledges amounting to $1bn - a phenomenal sum, particularly when you consider that half of that cash was put forward within the past year. It's a sign, perhaps, of how established crowdfunding has become, and how quickly it's growing - particularly when we consider that Kickstarter is by no means the only platform of its type on the web.
You can find more statistics about Kickstarter's last five years here, as well as a few handy facts. We now know, for example, that $1bn will buy you 44,555 RoboCop statues, or alternatively, one Roman Colosseum. Meanwhile, here's this week's selection of crowdfunding projects.

Concept Art by Dawn Brown The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone. Opens on November 22, 2013.

Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late.
