- John Bryson was born on October 12, 1923 in Brownwood, Texas, USA. He was an actor, known for The Getaway (1972), Convoy (1978) and The Osterman Weekend (1983). He died on August 10, 2005 in Brookings, Oregon, USA.

- He started out as a photographer at Life magazine, and later did freelance work for Look, Holiday, and other magazines. One of his best-known photos is of artist Salvador Dali wearing a crown made of sausages. He also photographed Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Clint Eastwood, Jason Robards Jr, John F. Kennedy, and Robert Kennedy.
- At the height of the Cold War, he made Nikita Khrushchev laugh when he offered to trade his expensive Nikon camera for a Soviet missile.
