- Born August 18, 1934, he is one year younger, to the day, than Roman Polanski (August 18, 1933), the husband of Sharon Tate, who was murdered by Charles Manson's gang. Bugliosi prosecuted the Manson Clan; he co-authored the screenplay for Helter Skelter (1976), based on his best selling book about the case.
- Passed away from cancer at age 80, at a Los Angeles hospital on June 6, 2015. Following his death, he was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
