Jimmy Kimmel is ripping the Barbie parody band-aid a full month before the Oscars.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host dropped a five-minute short on Monday night, directed by Jkl‘s Will Burke, hyping his March 10 gig emceeing the Academy Awards — re-creating many Barbie sets and reuniting four of its castmembers in a spoof that finds a hapless Kimmel trying to make his way to the Dolby Theatre. “Since the dawn of time, men have been getting lost,” says a voice-of-God Helen Mirren, spoofing her own narration of the Margot Robbie feature. “This is the story of one such dum-dum.”
With the help of “Weird Barbie” Kate McKinnon, who gives a stellar delivery of the famous Carnegie Hall joke, Kimmel speedily re-creates much of the film’s road trip sequence — swapping in the cartoonish Barbie settings for vistas from best picture nominees — before landing in Hollywood where McKinnon’s “Weird Wagon...

As soon as we thought we could predict the outcome of the Oscars, here comes another surprise! This one's brought to you by the Writers Guild of America. Picked for Best Original Screenplay was Christopher Nolan's "Inception." The director, famously dissed for not getting a Best Director Oscar nomination, may just win the Best Original Screenplay come Oscar night. Oscar front-runner, "The King's Speech" was not nominated because it didn't quality under union rules which prompted Nolan to say during his WGA acceptance award that he looked forward to a time when he could accept the award "without qualification."
That could be the beginning of a great script Mr. Nolan, go write it :happy
For adapted screenplay, I'm happy to report that Aaron Sorkin's fantastic script won! Based on "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, "The Social Network" was the only film last year that I predicted to win this very category.

First Matt Damon, then Ben Affleck, and now Wayne McClammy is gunning for ... Kip?
McClammy has signed on to direct the revenge comedy "Beat Kip" for Paramount Vantage. A spokesperson for Paramount could not confirm.
"Kip" tells the story of three buddies who travel across the country to confront an Ivy League nemesis who stole one of the guys' girlfriends. Comedy Central is producing.
Vantage, which recently merged into Paramount proper with attendant staff downsizing, optioned Todd Waldman and Rob Kerkovich's original screenplay in March. Waldman and Kerkovich are USC graduates who created the Summer of Tears comedy troupe, which has toured the country since 2004 behind its online shorts.
McClammy is the segment producer on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" who this year directed and co-wrote the popular short video spoofs "I'm Fucking Matt Damon" and "I'm Fucking Ben Affleck." They logged tens of millions of hits and prompted a career surge for McClammy, who also directs episodes of "The Sarah Silverman Program."
McClammy, repped by Paradigm and Rain Management Group, has the comedy spec "Le Car" set up at MGM with co-writer Will Burke. The writer-director also is attached to helm "Cool School," a Fox comedy written by Derek Guiley, David Schneiderman and Mark Perez.
Jay A. Fernandez reported from Los Angeles; Gregg Goldstein reported from New York.

Who knew that shtupping Matt Damon and Ben Affleck could be such a career booster?
Jimmy Kimmel Live! segment director Wayne McClammy, who helmed and co-wrote the popular short video spoofs "I'm Fucking Matt Damon" and "I'm Fucking Ben Affleck", has sold a spec titled Le Car to MGM that he co-wrote with Kimmel colleague Will Burke.
McClammy also is attached to direct the comedy, which Temple Hill Entertainment partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are attached to produce.
Le Car is designed to unspool as a "found film" made in the 1980s about a group of CIA agents who try to foil a plot by an evil car aiming to detonate an H-bomb at the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, N.Y.
This is the fourth comedy spec that MGM has picked up since April; Bobism, The Zookeeper and Executive VP David M. Murch's Adventures in the Land of Zametherea also are in the studio's development stable.
Executives Cale Boyter and Becky Sloviter will oversee Le Car for MGM.
McClammy's Kimmel shorts generated tens of millions of views online and rocketed him into the Web comedy pantheon.
