Perhaps it's no surprise that this should be the dumbest comedy to come out of Hollywood in years. That's the point, you might say. But there's dumb, and then there is depressingly dumb. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were loveable idiots when they first played Lloyd and Harry in 1994, but now they're older, none the wiser and needlessly abrasive, which takes the fun out of their stupid antics.
It's as if the Farrelly brothers are overcompensating; sharpening the daggers just a tad too vigorously to reclaim their place on the cutting edge of comedy, and yet this still feels dated two decades after the first Dumb and Dumber had audiences doubled over - not sure whether to...

It only took 20 years for the Farrelly Brothers to come up with a true sequel to their 1994 hit, Dumb And Dumber, but as I say in my video review above, maybe they could have waited a while longer.
The film stars Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey as the dopey duo, this time trying to track down the long-lost daughter of one of them for a kidney transplant. From there, as they say, high-larity ensues.
Other notable cast members include Rob Riggle and Kathleen Turner, working from a script whose many credits include the Farrellys, Sean Anders, Mike Cerrone, John Morris and Bennett Yellin. The film is produced by the Farrellys, Riza Aziz, Joey McFarland, Charles B. Wessler and Bradley Thomas. Universal Pictures is distributing. The film hits U.S. theaters today.
Watch my review. Are you planning on seeing the movie? Tell us what you think of it.

The comedy sequel Dumb & Dumber To doesn't arrive until this fall, but with the teaser posters and a first look photo already out there, we're hoping for some sort of teaser trailer to arrive sometime soon. Since it's a Universal film, it would be smart to throw a teaser trailer in front of their summer comedy Neighbors when it hits theaters on May 9th. Until then, another photo from the film has arrived featuring Lloyd (Jim Carrey) and Harry (Jeff Daniels) taking some time to get cleaned up, presumable while on their journey to find the latter's illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant. Their facial expressions are perfect. Look! Here's the new photo from Peter & Bobby Farrelly's Dumb & Dumber To (via ComingSoon): Dumb & Dumber To is directed by Peter & Bobby Farrelly (Dumb & Dumber, There's Something About Mary) and written by Sean Anders & John Morris (Sex Drive, She's Out of My League...

"Walking Dead" star Laurie Holden is being reanimated for a role in "Dumb and Dumber To." Holden has been cast opposite Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in the long-delayed sequel as a mean housewife names Adele Pichlow, who is trying to murder her wealthy doctor husband (Funny or Die’s "Steve Tom") and her step-daughter ("Days of Our Lives" star Rachel Melvin). Adele's plan involves using the hapless Harry and Lloyd as patsies, according to Deadline. "Dumb" reunites the leading men with Peter and Bobby Farrelly, who wrote and directed the 1995 original hit film. The Farrellys wrote the new film along with Bennett Yellin and Mike Cerrone. ...

No doubt responding to massive fan outcry on the internet that two recognizable - yet unsuspected - thespians playing nuns in the upcoming Three Stooges movie was too few, the Farrelly brothers have added another sister to the production: Jennifer Hudson. Oh! We meant sister because she'll be playing a nun, not because she's black. Seriously, who are you, Al Sharpton? Lay off us already.
The Weight Watchers spokeswoman will join Jane Lynch and Larry David in their roles as nuns who work at the orphanage where the Stooges live. Hudson, of course, is married to WWE wrestler (and former I Love New York contestant) David Otunga, so maybe he can give her some tips on how to sell a pulled punch.
And maybe Otunga could give us some tips on how to pull off those studded jeans taking up space in our closet.

Earlier this month Jim Carrey confirmed he was out of the Farrelly's long-gestating "Three Stooges" project and thought it was essentially dead due to MGM's financial woes. Well this is Hollywood where nothing ever truly dies, especially films that have been languishing in development for a decade.
Risky Biz Blog reports that 20th Century Fox is taking over the project and is in the final stages of deals to take control of the property. Bobby and Peter Farrelly are still attached to direct a script they wrote with Mike Cerrone that is said to be "ready to go".
The stars involved however aren't making the transition, namely Carrey and Sean Penn are out. Whether Benicio del Toro will still play Moe though is unsure but it's likely the casting slate will be wiped clean and start afresh. One addition though is Richard Jenkins who'll play a nun.

After many thought the upcoming Three Stooges film was a dead project, 20th Century Fox has stepped in to save the movie and are aiming at a production start date of March 14, 2011. The Farrelly brothers (There's Something About Mary), who were tapped to direct the film in the first place, are returning to that role from a script they co-wrote with Mike Cerrone. Although the movie is without a cast at this time, the original rumored Stooges were to be played by Jim Carrey, Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro. Carrey and Penn left the project a while back so they may not return but Del Toro is still tentatively attached to the role of Moe. "The script is ready to go, and we are opening up these roles to the world right now. We'll make it with the best possible people. Our feeling is that no...

Every once in a while we learn about a new project only after it's already started filming, and that's the case with Verdi Corrente Productions' Inkubus, which is currently shooting in Rhode Island.
