"Who the hell are you?" "I'm the guy you shoulda called when you went sideways." Lionsgate has dropped a trailer for yet another new Steven Seagal action movie, and it looks as terrible as his last one. The trailer is for a film called Cartels, formerly known as Killing Salazar. It's made by the same director who has made all of Seagal's recent movies, including Contract to Kill, which we featured a trailer for last year (did anyone actually watch it?). Cartels has some super cheesy, twisty plot involving a drug lord being captured, the DEA, and Seagal being Seagal. Also starring Georges St. Pierre, Martine Argent, Darren E. Scott, Massimo Dobrovic, and Luke Goss. I honestly don't even know why I bother with trailers for films like this, I'm never going to watch it, and I hope no one else will want to either. Move along, nothing to see here. Here's the newest official trailer (+ poster) for Keoni Waxman's ...

It has been a long time since I’ve reviewed a direct-to-market Steven Seagal movie, in fact its been some time since I’ve so much as watched one for my own “pleasure”. I skipped over Sniper: Special Ops, Asian Connection, Code of Honour, and the most recent Dtv release End of a Gun, maily because after buying, watching, and often reviewing, every single film starring Seagal until the aforementioned I was suffering from Seagal burnout… A condition that often comes about in an audience when they realise that the once-agile former martial arts superstar has succumbed to appearing in extended cameos in the hopes that long-suffering fans – like myself – will buy the film on his name...

Aside from the singing (obviously), one of the things we love to see most on The X Factor is a good old diva strop and Sunday night's episode definitely didn't disappoint.
In the first episode of Boot Camp, things got very unpleasant for one group and one contestant in particular was at the centre of it all.
The X Factor 2015: All the videos you need from Sunday's Boot Camp group challenge
Princess Diamond spent a lot of time moaning that she didn't know the words to Taylor Swift's hit 'Blank Space' before getting into a row about it with Monica Michael, another member of her group.
Before a truly cringe-worthy performance, Princess told the judges all about the bad blood (sorry!) in the group and pointed out Monica as the culprit.
However, Princess's lack of rehearsal didn't impress the judges and she didn't make it through to the next round.

Playing a robot on Almost Human is actually harder than you may think.
The new Fox serie, set in the not-too-distant future, features police officers who are partnered with androids. Most of the androids are part of the Mx line of robots that are driven by statistics and mathematical configuration. In other words, they have no soul, but they still look human, which creates an interesting process for the handful of actors who portray them. Among those actors is Darren E. Scott, who played John Kennex's (Karl Urban) original partner and several other iterations.

“Returned from Shanghai film directed by RZA of Wu Tang w Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, on Man With Iron Fist, To tape Oprah Winfrey Show Mad Fun!”
Those are words from a Tweet posted by Foxy Brown herself, Ms Pam Grier on Saturday afternoon. I was buried for much of the weekend, so I missed it, because I do follow Pam on Twitter (thanks to reader Roen for the heads-up).
I suppose we can glean from that single sentence that Ms Grier is in RZA’s anticipated directorial debut, The Man With The Iron Fist.
We’ve been talking about this project for awhile, so I won’t rehash; feel free to search the blog for previous posts on the film.
Other cast member’s of the film include Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Byron Mann (Streetfighter, The Corruptor), Darren Choo (Romeo Must Die), and Osric Chau (2012) and others.

Machine Gun Preacher
Opens: 2011
Cast: Gerard Butler, Michelle Monaghan, Michael Shannon, Madeline Carroll, Kathy Baker
Director: Marc Forster
Summary: After finding God, drug-dealing biker Sam Childers renounces his outlaw ways and embarks on a spiritual path, becoming a crusader for hundreds of desperate and helpless children who were being forced to become soldiers in war-torn southern Sudan.
Analysis: Despite taking the freshly rejuvenated James Bond franchise and nearly destroying it with the very disappointing "Quantum of Solace", German-Swiss filmmaker Marc Forster still has a decent amount of good will left thanks to strong earlier efforts like "Monster's Ball," "Finding Neverland," "Stranger Than Fiction" and "The Kite Runner".
Now, in his first film since that Bond outing, Forster returns to serious drama with this true story tale of a biker who became a humanitarian crusader for children in the Sudan. The story itself is fascinating, the born again Sam Childers and...

Here’s a little update from one of the more unlikely projects of recent times. One which we first reported on back in September 2010 and concerned The RZA who had been handed a whopping $20 million dollars by Universal to go off and direct/star in his dream project, the Shaw Brothers influenced kung fu film ‘The Man With The Iron Fists’.
The film would see Russell Crowe (in a non-led, supporting role) joining his American Gangster, The Next Three Days co-star/chum working on their third movie together. Iron fists, RZA, Crowe, $20 million. Interesting.
As you can see from the photo evidence above, with some hands on guidance from producer and co-writer Eli Roth, the film has commenced shooting in China. Indeed Russell Crowe has honoured his friends request and will be spending the month of February shooting in China along with Lucy Liu, Byron Mann, Cung Lee and Daniel Wu.

We’ve been talking about this project for awhile, so I won’t rehash; feel free to search the blog for previous posts on the film.
Additional casting news surfaced today. First, it was rumored that Russell Crowe had signed on to co-star, although the role he is to play was never revealed. The rumor is now a reality, as a report from FilmBizAsia.com (courtesy of Twitch) confirms Crowe’s casting.
Also, from the same article, I learned that Lucy Liu (what the heck has she been up to) is also in the cast, as are other Asian American actors, namely, Byron Mann (Streetfighter, The Corruptor), Darren Choo (Romeo Must Die), Osric Chau (2012) and others.
Corey Yuen (Transporter 1, 2, 3) is directing the action sequences.
Shooting is scheduled to be over at the end of February, so, I’d expect that we’d see some stills and footage soon enough.
