- Born and raised in New York City, Alberto Colombo served as a cellist with the Manhattan Opera House Orchestra, and later became the manager. He toured with Paul Whiteman, as an arranger, before joining RKO as a music director in 1934.

Wolfe Gilbert Music Publishing Compoany, giving them all rights to his compositions, both for pictures and publication. Colombo is currently musical director at Republic Pictures.
