Josh Hopkins has joined the cast of "Lady Friends," Kari Lizer 's new NBC comedy pilot, reports TV Guide. But before you break out your Big Carl to mourn the thought of Grayson leaving Jules on "Cougar Town," just because Hopkins has joined an NBC pilot doesn't mean that he's leaving the ratings-challenged ABC comedy.
Just think of it as job security. "Cougar Town" creator Bill Lawrence tweeted the news earlier Tuesday. "Letting my cast do pilots in 2nd position," he tweeted. "Hoping they get parts, then have to be replaced (like Damon Wayans Jr. Happy Endings/New Girl)... I'm still betting we will survive, and that pilot will be screwed. But I'm an optimistic guy."
In the comedy, two female friends, Nicole (Andrea Anders), who seemingly has the perfect life, and Jen, who can't seem to get it together, can't live without each other. Hopkins will play Nicole's husband.

Cynthia McWilliams (The Chicago Code, and Prison Break) will join Damon Wayans in the upcoming new CBS comedy series pilot that’s set at a sports radio station, in which Wayans plays a smart-ass sports radio host.
The character he plays, named Nick Herd, is said to be inspired by current Espn personality Colin Cowherd.
McWilliams will play his wife, Megan, an Mba who’s given up her career to raise two children from a previous marriage, as well as Nick’s child also from his previous marriage – a set-up that’s starting to take a toll on her.
Wayans’ My Wife And Kids director, Andy Cadiff, will helm the pilot episode, and the real Colin Cowherd will serve as a producer on the project, which will also star Danny Comden (Dirt) as the manipulative producer of Wayans’ Herd’s show.
Look for it in the 2011/2012 season.

"Off the Map" may or may not be back next season. If not, two of its stars may stay on TV together anyway.
For that, you can thank NBC's drama pilot "The Crossing," which has cast "Otm" star Martin Henderson in its lead role, Deadline reports. His casting comes a day after the show, which is set in the 1860s, hired Henderson's "Off the Map" co-star Rachelle LeFevre. Bill Sage ("Precious," "Nurse Jackie") has also joined the pilot.
"The Crossing" is about a Civil War soldier (Henderson) who settles in a Missouri town as Reconstruction begins and becomes invovled with a war widow (LeFevre). NBC would have to recast both parts if the ratings-challenged "Off the Map" somehow gets a second season, but the pilot's producers must not be overly concerned about that at the moment.

Fox is opening the door to "The Intruders," a single-camera comedy project from actor-writer Danny Comden.
The project, from Warner Bros. Danny Comden is back at ABC and ABC Studios.
The actor-writer has inked a deal with ABC Studios for "Temps," a multicamera comedy set up at ABC.
Comden will write and star in the project, described as a modern-day "Taxi" set at a temp agency.
The deepening recession is making the project topical and relatable as companies that lay off employees often resort to temp agencies to fill vacant positions, Comden said.
"Temps" also explores the plight of overqualified and underemployed immigrants who held high academic or professional positions in their native countries but often work manual labor jobs in the U.S.
The show is set at the agency's office and will also follow the temps on their assignments. It centers on a 10-year veteran temp (Comden).
"He is absolutely content as a temp," Comden said. "He doesnt work overtime, and he doesn't take his job home with him.
