- Often has David Jason voicing the main character of his projects.
- Frequently casts Brian Trueman.
- Close friends with David Jason, Jason said he was deeply dedicated to his craft.
- Of all the shows David Jason did with Cosgrove Hall, he considered The Wind in the Willows (1984) classic, successful and the most exciting. He loved the cast Brian Cosgrove had managed to assemble, and believed Michael Hordern one of his heroes. He claimed he could never have stood on stage with him and done Shakespeare and been competitive.
- Before Cosgrove Hall settled on Dangermouse, the character was almost called Supermouse.
- David Jason named his daughter Sophie Mae after the girl from The BFG (1989) for Cosgrove Hall. He said the name had extra resonance for him, and the two sounded nice when put together.
- For The Wind in the Willows (1984), Cosgrove Hall wanted David Jason to play Ratty but he preferred Mr Toad. Everyone who had voiced Toad had made him unpleasant, but Jason made him a lovable showoff. After Jason recorded an audition, he got the part.
- [on working with David Jason] When I first met David, I voice tested him for Danger Mouse. There was another actor with him. Actors come in different - personalities, really. This one was really quite loud and brash, and filling the room. David wasn't like that, he was concentrating on the character that was on the page, and he was working hard to get inside the skin of that character, almost from the first time he read the script. I was impressed with that, and I could see that that was what he was doing. The other guy was just being himself. That's what he did on Danger Mouse. It may be at the beginning some people said, 'that's David Jason', but as time went on, in my view, he became the character, and all you remember is Danger Mouse. You don't think, 'oh that's David Jason's voice.
