Michael Dudikoff leads a military-themed double feature in “Platoon Leader” and “Soldier Boyz,” released on Blu-ray by Kino Lorber. The first is a standard “Rio Bravo” knock off taking place during the Vietnam War. A recent West Point graduate arrives in Vietnam and is assigned to command and defend a jungle outpost. “Soldier Boyz” is the story of a former Marine working with inner city youths who are serving time and are recruited to join him on a mission to free an aid worker held hostage by a Vietnamese warlord. “Platoon Leader” is a standard military action drama, while “Soldier Boyz” is a rescue tale which takes place several decades after the end of the Vietnam War. While both movies are set primarily in Vietnam and they both feature Dudikoff, that’s about as far as the similarities go.

At the start of the year, Peacock closed a mega deal for the majority of Dick Wolf’s library including the Law & Order and Chicago franchises.
A month later, the uber producer signed a huge nine-figure deal spanning broadcast and streaming that will keep him at sibling Universal Television for at least five years.
So, it’s no surprise that NBCU’s streamer is looking to do originals with the New York-born creator.
Bill McGoldrick, President of Original Content at NBCU Entertainment Networks and Direct-to-Consumer, told Deadline that it is currently in conversations with Wolf about his first project for the streaming service, which launches nationwide on July 15.
“We definitely want to do something with Dick Wolf but we haven’t landed on a specific show yet,” he said.

ABC has given a formal pilot order to New York Undercover, a contemporary reboot of Dick Wolf’s 1990s series, from Wolf and Hand of God creator Ben Watkins. Anthony Hemingway has come on board to direct the pilot, produced by Wolf Films, Universal TV where the company is based, and ABC Studios.
New York Undercover, which had a pilot production commitment, joins another ABC pilot that reboots a 1990s New York cop drama in present day, NYPD Blue. Also like NYPD Blue, which is bringing back original cast members Kim Delaney and Bill Brochtrup, the new New York Undercover too is expected to feature cast members from the original series reprising their roles.
Written by Watkins based on a story by Wolf and him, New York Undercover picks up 20 years after the end of the original series that changed the face of TV cop dramas.

I had never heard of this comedy-thriller, and the good news is that it’s a pleasant surprise, thoroughly enjoyable. The toughest kind of filmmaking must be making comedy seem effortless, and that’s what Eric Blakeney does in this quirky, near-screwball take on the done-to-death drug deal undercover thriller. Liam Neeson is sensational, and producer Sandra Bullock is at her most charming. Even the flatulence jokes are funny.

Anchor Bay Entertainment sent along the link to a new trailer to herald the theatrical release of its supernaturally tinged thriller Not Forgotten, starring Land Of The Dead and The Mentalist’s Simon Baker. You can check out the preview below.
Directed by feature first-timer Dror Soref from a script he wrote with Tomás Romero, Not Forgotten stars Baker as a man whose search for his abducted daughter (The Eye’s Chloe Moretz) takes him through the darkest corners of Mexico, where he encounters much worse things than swine flu—including a death cult called Santa Muerte.
