The big news from Donald Trump’s Manhattan criminal hush money trial Monday was Judge Juan Merchan clearing the courtroom so he could reprimand the Trump legal team’s combative witness, Robert Costello — who had spent the last several days publicly attacking the judge and the proceedings.
Costello, a lawyer, previously advised Michael Cohen, the longtime Trump fixer who is now prosecutors’ key witness in their case against the former president. During his testimony, Merchan admonished Costello for audibly and visibly reacting — including apparently rolling his eyes — in response to...

Disdain for Larry David Geraldo Rivera made headlines following his candid post on X, formerly Twitter, expressing his dissatisfaction with Larry David and his portrayal in ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’. Rivera stated, I’m not a fan, because Larry truly is the self-righteous, snobby, self-loathing, narcissistic ass he portrays. This comment has sparked conversations about the interplay between an actor’s real persona and their on-screen character. The Petty Feud Over Politics It appears politics play a central role in this distaste. Rivera’s disdain for David became apparent during an outdoor gathering at Alan Dershowitz’s birthday in Martha’s Vineyard where Larry David conspicuously

Fred Goldman, the father of Ron Goldman issued a statement following the passing of O.J. Simpson at 76.
Simpson’s trial and the subsequent controversial acquittal for the murders of his former wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman, in 1994, garnered significant attention.
In a separate civil trial, a jury found him liable in 1997 for the deaths and ordered him to pay $33.5 million to the family members of Brown and Goldman.
Fred Goldman has remained vocal over the years, asserting Simpson’s responsibility for his son’s murder on June 12, 1994, just a month shy of Ron’s 26th birthday.
On June 12, 1994, Ron Goldman was returning sunglasses that had been left at a restaurant where he worked by the mother of Nicole Brown Simpson.
Tragically, both Goldman and Brown Simpson were stabbed and slashed dozens of times, their bodies were discovered the following day.

Lee Bailey, Alan Dershowitz, Robert Kardashian, Shawn Holley, Carl E. Douglas, and Gerald Uelmen. Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld were two additional attorneys who specialized in DNA evidence.

Some of Donald Trump’s personal lawyers have been urging him to show a dose of restraint in the courtroom when his hush-money trial finally begins in New York City. But ahead of the historic criminal trial, scheduled to start in two weeks, the former president has relentlessly attacked the judge and his daughter.
Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing Trump’s criminal trial, last week imposed a gag order barring Trump from making any public comments about the court’s staff and their family members. Trump quickly tested out...

Several lawyers and political advisers for Donald Trump tell Rolling Stone that they want him to keep his mouth shut during his upcoming criminal trial in Manhattan, and say they’ve made gentle internal pushes to try to persuade him to heed their pleas. It remains an open question, of course, whether the presumptive 2024 GOP presidential nominee will listen and suppress his impulse to turn his remarkably high-stakes hush-money trial into a self-destructive, Trumpian media carnival.

While it may have followed Seinfeld as Larry David's second major TV series, Curb Your Enthusiasm has the most unique voice of any TV series of the modern era.
While set almost entirely in Los Angeles, Curb has a very New York-centric and Jewish sensibility. And at the center of it all is Larry David, playing a probably-not-that-exaggerated version of himself.
The show started in October of 1999 as a one-off HBO special, meant to depict the return to stand-up comedy of Larry David, best known at that point as the co-creator of Seinfeld.
He was playing a version of Larry, who is independently wealthy yet seemingly never far from a confrontation about something small.
It soon became a surprisingly long-running comedy series, as its final season launched in February of 2024, nearly 25 years after that special.

Netflix has settled a defamation lawsuit brought by the head of a Cuban exile organization, who accused the streamer of falsely portraying him as a terrorist and drug trafficker in Olivier Assayas’ political spy thriller Wasp Network.
Lawyers for Brothers to the Rescue leader Jose Basulto and Netflix notified the court of a deal to resolve the suit, according to a notice of settlement filed on Wednesday. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. A jury trial was set to start next month.
Wasp Network, released in 2019 with a representation that it’s “based on a true story,” is adapted from the book The Last Soldiers of the Cold War by Fernando Morais. Infamous sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s younger brother, Mark Epstein, speculated that former Attorney General Bill Barr may have been “protecting” high-profile individuals associated with his brother’s jail cell suicide.
Epstein, who faced federal charges of sex trafficking underage girls from Florida to New York, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center on August 10, 2019. Mark challenged the initial determination by then-ag Barr that his brother died by suicide due to “screw-ups” in the jail.
“Yes, there were screw-ups, but that doesn’t mean my brother committed suicide because of screw-ups,” Mark told the New York Post.
It should be noted that in this current day and age the term “committed suicide” has been replaced with “died by suicide,” as the act is not a crime but a tragedy.

In what is expected to be a series of releases over the next several weeks, the names of a couple of former presidents and dozens more were revealed Wednesday as associates of sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Among the more than 180 individuals named in 943 pages of unsealed court documents, which saw the federal court website crash for a while as the names become public, were Donald Trump and Bill Clinton. The numerous references to the men, as well as Britain’s Prince Andrew, were unsurprising. To varying degrees, Trump and Clinton had long been publicly known to be associated with Epstein over the past decades.

The conservative news streaming service is off to the races, showing off an impressive subscriber total for its first 30 days.
It’s hard to underestimate the importance of live news, even as cord-cutting continues to impact the TV-watching audience. One survey from September found that all age groups used their broadcast TV channels to watch news more than any other type of programming.

The hard-right news channel now has its own subscription streaming platform, with prices starting at $4.99 per month.
The removal of Newsmax from Directv earlier this year drew sharp protests from ultra-conservative viewers of the channel, who were quick to cry censorship at its withdrawal. Directv insisted there was no political motivation behind the removal, and eventually a new carriage deal brought the channel back to airwaves for Directv customers.
Carriage disputes are only becoming more common as cable and satellite lose customers, however. Larry David did not curb his dislike of Elon Musk while at a wedding.

Donald Trump could be days away from another indictment, but as a third set of criminal charges looms, he’s struggling to recruit lawyers to defend him, three sources familiar with the situation tell Rolling Stone.
In recent weeks, the Trump team has tried, with mixed results, to bring aboard new lawyers to defend against an expected indictment over Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election and the Jan. 6 Capitol attack — even as Special Counsel Jack Smith has signaled his office is ready to bring charges.
The recruiting effort has been fraught for several reasons.

Just a few short days ago we wrote with delight that Kim Cattrall would make a surprise, short appearance in the second season of Max’s “Sex and the City” sequel, “And Just Like That.” Few could have predicted this, as she and the series star Sarah Jessica Parker have been pretty open about their fractured relationship, and that Cattrall’s character was effectively written out in the first season.
Someone else who learned about Cattrall’s involvement from a story just like ours (maybe even ours!) was “Sex and the City” and “And Just Like That” star Evan Handler, who plays Kristen Davis’s husband Harry. “I learned it the same day you did,” he said in an interview with “People.”
He confirmed that Cattrall’s short performance—a phone call—was produced like a surgical strike. “Apparently, [her cameo] was shot in the garage somewhere with no contact with anybody,...

Jeffrey Epstein’s calendar is revealing secrets years after the billionaire’s death in a New York prison. The now head of the Central Intelligence Agency, a college president, a former Obama White House counsel, and scholar Noam Chomsky are all listed in the financier’s private date book, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal.

Donald Trump’s political allies are preparing an all-out blitz against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, judge Juan Merchan, and anyone else in the American judicial system who dares cross him. But as his political operation gears up, the former president’s own lawyers are pleading with him to show a modicum of restraint.
Trump’s defenders and several trusted associates are working up game plans to “fight dirty” against Bragg and the judge, a person close to Trump says. In practice, that means treating Bragg like a partisan rival during campaign season,...

Donald Trump wants everyone to know that he was not at all saddened about getting arrested and having to plead not guilty to 34 felony charges stemming from an alleged sexual encounter with a porn star. “I can say that at least for this moment right now, I am in great spirits,” Trump wrote in an email blasted out to supporters after his historic arraignment in Manhattan on Tuesday. But behind the scenes of that crafted public image, cracks have begun to show in the former president’s famous self-confidence, according...

Bravo’s new iteration of Summer House has all the reality TV ingredients of a wild party, but the newest destination of Martha’s Vineyard has an important history behind it. The Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard features a Black cast of attractive millennials who embrace the work hard/party hard mantra Summer House is known to embody.
But by peeling back the layers of this small Massachusetts island, there’s more to the destination than just tequila sodas and endless hookups. The island is comprised of several small towns, and specifically, Oak Bluffs has deep meaning and appreciation to the Black community.
Also known as “The Inkwell,” Oak Bluffs and Martha’s Vineyard is a favorite vacation destination for decades. The island also attracts hugely famous and powerful people, including President Barack Obama, director Spike Lee, Oprah Winfrey, and many others.

Well, would you looky here: Newsmax TV is back on DirecTV after all. Turns out all that mudslinging was mere posturing and negotiating, just like we said. How silly.
Newsmax TV will return to DirecTV, DirecTV Stream, and U-verse on Thursday on its prior home, Channel 349. Financial terms of the carriage agreement were not disclosed, but DirecTV said its customers will not incur additional costs. DirecTV booted NewsMax January 25 when they could not agree on an extension to their carriage deal. That led to an epic battle, one that included Newsmax accusing DirecTV of antisemitism.
The business spat devolved into a back-and-forth between leaders in the Jewish community, including Alan Dershowitz and Sen. Joseph Lieberman. First, Bryan Leib (self-described “Newsmax insider”) assembled a team of “two dozen prominent Jews” to sign a letter to DirecTV expressing “serious concerns” about the removal of Newsmax.

DirecTV and Newsmax went their separate ways last month, and the parting has been much more sorrow than sweet.
A quick recap: DirecTV, majority-owned by AT&T, said Newsmax was seeking “rate increases” that “would have led to significantly higher costs” for the customer. Newsmax TV says that’s nonsense, and it was already heavily discounted compared to lower-rated channels. This time, the shots fired were not just a negotiating tactic, and DirecTV wasted no time replacing the right-wing Newsmax TV with fellow conservative platform The First.
Well, Newsmax TV and DirecTV are not staying friends post-breakup. Since Day 1, Newsmax called DirecTV passing on a new carriage deal “censorship” and “de-platforming.” DirecTV maintains the decision was purely a business play.
In the weeks that have followed, Newsmax has seemingly spent as much time reporting how un-American DirecTV is as it has reporting the actual news.

Virginia Giuffre, who has spent more than a decade pursuing legal action against the late Jeffrey Epstein and his associates for sexually trafficking her as a minor, today, Nov. 8, settled a federal defamation suit against the lawyer Alan Dershowitz. In a joint statement, the two announced that they have “dismissed with prejudice all pending litigation,” with no payment on either side. A court filing obtained by Rolling Stone confirmed that all parties also waived the right to appeal.

The first time comic Elon Gold met Larry David was at a 2017 panel discussion between Alan Dershowitz — famed civil liberties attorney-cum-Trump-era Martha’s Vineyard social pariah — and conservative talk-show host Dennis Prager. Following the event, Gold approached the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator and star, who attended at the behest of then-friend Dershowitz (with whom David has since had a widely publicized falling out).
“I said, ‘What’d you think of the debate?’” Gold recalls. “And Larry said, ‘I was annoyed the whole time. I was bothered the whole time.’ And I’m like, ‘What happened?’ And he goes, ‘I saw someone that I knew, and I tapped the person in front of me to tap the person in front of him, and he refused.’”
Gold responded, “He didn’t forward the tap.”

Alan Dershowitz, former lawyer to Donald Trump, Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein, went on the record about a confrontation with Larry David that ended with the latter calling the former “disgusting.”
Dershowitz said he longer watches “Curb Your Enthusiasm” due to the fallout. “Because I know that the Larry David that’s in ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ is not a fictional character,” Dershowitz explained. “That’s the real Larry David.”
In an interview with the New Yorker published Tuesday, the Harvard law professor discussed the incident with his former friend and pro bono client.
Last summer, Page Six reported that David “screamed” at Dershowitz in a Martha’s Vineyard convenience store over his ties to the Trump administration.

Life imitated “Curb Your Enthusiasm” last summer in Martha’s Vineyard when Page Six reported that Larry David and celebrity attorney Alan Dershowitz got into a public tussle over politics at a Martha’s Vineyard grocery store.
In a new interview with The New Yorker, Dershowitz, who has repped the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, and Donald Trump, offered new details about the August 2021 altercation.
When asked if it was true that Larry David “chewed him out,” Dershowitz said, “He did, yeah. What happened is — it’s interesting because I was having lunch with a very radical lawyer who loves me. I mean, he disagrees with me. We argue all the time, but he is not part of the Chilmark crowd. So I was having lunch with him and then a number of other people were there. Suddenly, Larry David walks in to buy some groceries. I say, ‘Hey.

One of last summer’s surprise news stories was an alleged confrontation that took place between Larry David and lawyer Alan Dershowitz. A source told Page Six that the two men fought at a convenience store on Martha’s Vineyard. David allegedly called Dershowtiz “disgusting” to his face. New York attorney Arthur Aidala, who has represented Rudolph Giuliani, Harvey Weinstein, Roger Ailes and Alan Dershowitz, apparently has a new high-profile client: Lauren Pazienza, the Long Island woman charged with manslaughter in the shoving death of Broadway vocal coach Barbara Maier Gustern.
Aidala, a former Fox News legal analyst who currently hosts the New York-based radio show The Arthur Aidala Power Hour, was reported by Fox News today to be the attorney who arranged for Pazienza to turn herself in to the NYPD.

A New York judge has rejected Prince Andrew’s attempt to dismiss the civil claim of his accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre and the Duke of York will now face civil trial in the U.S.
A decision outlined by judge Lewis A Kaplan was made in the past half hour, which rejected the Prince’s lawyers’ motion to dismiss the lawsuit.
Giuffre, who has also accused Jeffrey Epstein and lawyer Alan Dershowitz, is suing Prince Andrew over claims that he abused her when she was 17, which Andrew has denied.
His lawyers said the case should be thrown out and cited a 2009 deal she signed with now-deceased convicted sex offender Epstein. Giuffre has said she is the victim of sex trafficking and abuse by Epstein.
Rather than being able to put the situation behind him, the highly-anticipated motion means the case will now rumble on and Prince Andrew will face a civil trial in the U.

BBC Director General Tim Davie has blamed personal error rather than swingeing cuts to its news team for last month’s heavily-criticized Alan Dershowitz interview, which came immediately after the guilty Ghislaine Maxwell verdict.
Questioned by a UK House of Lords Committee on what was to blame, Davie put the mistake down to a lack of due diligence carried out by the show’s planner and poor research, after the BBC failed to mention that Dershowitz has been accused of historic sexual abuse by Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre. Giuffre has previously sued Dershowitz for defamation, which he subsequently counter-sued.
Dershowitz, who has also represented Harvey Weinstein and Donald Trump, used the interview to congratulate the prosecution in the Maxwell case for not calling Giuffre as a witness and, following a major backlash, the BBC had said it was looking into “how [the mistake] had happened” within hours.

The BBC has apologized for broadcasting an interview with Jeffrey Epstein’s former lawyer Alan Dershowitz without disclosing that Dershowitz has also been accused of sexual abuse by one of Epstein’s victims.
Dershowitz appeared on BBC News live from New York on Wednesday evening, shortly after a jury handed down the guilty verdict in Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial. The former British socialite, who was on trial for sex trafficking, was convicted on federal charges of luring underage girls to engage in sex acts with Epstein.
Speaking from what appeared to be his home office, Dershowitz was introduced to viewers by a BBC News presenter as a “constitutional lawyer,” before being asked to comment on the jury’s verdict.
Virginia Roberts Giuffre, an Epstein survivor, is embroiled in litigation with Dershowitz and the U.K.’s Prince Andrew after accusing both men of sexual abuse. Dershowitz and Prince Andrew deny the allegations.
