It's hard to believe, but 2024 marks 40 years since the story of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles began on the page. Idw plans to celebrate the anniversary with a new line of comic books, including a relaunch of the main series from Avengers and Thor writer Jason Aaron.
In the series, the prolific comic book writer plans to take the Heroes in a Half-Shell back to their gritty roots, bringing them back in line with the original black-and-white stories from creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' first four issues will feature a revolving door of artists with Joëlle Jones (Catwoman) kicking things off in a Raphael-focused first issue. The second instalment shifts the spotlight to Michelangelo with art by Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire).
Then, in issue #3, Paper Girls co-creator Cliff Chiang will put his spin on Leonardo before Donatello takes centre stage in the Chris Burnham-illustrated (Batman Incorporated) fourth chapter.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles began their lives in comic book form 40 years ago before going on to become a media and merchandizing brand and are currently enjoying a massive revival in the sequential art format. In fact, the top selling graphic novel in North America for two years in a row has been Tmnt: The Last Ronin, the collected trade paperback of the acclaimed mini-series from the early 2020s.
Idw, the company which holds the Tmnt license, is capitalizing on the half-shell heat but launching a new ongoing series, one that will return the series to its gritty and action-packed roots seen in the original black and white indie comics from creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.

Note: This article was written by Jameel Raeburn. What’s the ideal starter anime? It’s the question for every anime enthusiast who is recommending a series, or an exploratory watcher curious to dive into the world of anime for the first time. However, there’s no clear answer. While anime is thankfully more accessible than it’s ever been, there are so many characters, plots, genres and themes that you might feel overwhelmed at first glance. You may turn to friends to hopefully nudge you in the right direction, but you can get thirty conflicting answers from thirty different people. The idea of what’s the perfect starter anime has been hotly debated online. In an interview with Michael B. Jordan , the actor revealed his five anime recommendations for those who haven’t watched it before. “ One Piece , Dragon Ball , Naruto , Bleach , and Hunter x Hunter ” were his responses.

Since their debut in the 1980s, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have grown into a permanent fixture in popular culture. From their catchy theme song to the four anthropomorphic turtle brothers, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael, the franchise has touched the hearts of fans of all ages.
And now, with the news of a reboot on the horizon, Paramount has confirmed to be developing a live-action, R-rated film based on the gripping comic book miniseries Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. So, who is in charge of guiding this vision?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin
To put it mildly, Zack Snyder seems like the perfect person to bring these Ninja heroes back to the big screen. His work on movies like 300 and Man of Steel mirrors his ability to create epic and thrilling battles, which would make him a great match for the turtles’ ninja skills and unique fighting styles.

Paramount hasn’t even started their CinemaCon session yet and news is breaking like flies on a rib roast.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin based on the fan-fave graphic novel is in the works with Tyler Burton Smith writing and Walter Hamada producing through his 18hz production company, as part of his multi-year deal with the studio. The movie will be the first R-rated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Hopefully, there won’t be any naughty scenes involving turtles ala Fritz the Cat.
Smith recently co-wrote the upcoming Roadside Attractions R-rated action movie Boy Kills World which hits theaters on April 26.
Last Ronin was published as a miniseries between 2020 and 2022 and is set in a totalitarian future New York City as the Turtles and their master Splinter are assassinated by the grandson of their prime villain Shredder and his posse. One of the Turtles survives and swears revenge.

Back in the 1990s, teenagers made up two of the biggest superhero teams on the scene. First, we had the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," and even though we never really found out how old they were, their dynamic certainly offered a playful spin on the usual superhero formula, both in the live-action film franchise and the animated series. A few years later, the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" delivered a squad of super-powered teens tasked with protecting the world from an endless array of monsters. For some reason, all those monsters started with Angel Grove, where the Power Rangers resided, which seems ill-advised, but I digress.
Today, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" are still thriving. While driven by nostalgia, each franchise has also been delivering new stories in comic book form, continuing the legacy of their '90s success. That's why the pop culture clothing experts at...

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around since the ‘80s. They’ve starred in several animated TV series, live-action movies from Jim Henson costumes to CGI turtles, and two animated films. The latest, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, reinvents the comic book heroes in several ways.
Perhaps taking a cue from the Spider-Verse movies, Mutant Mayhem uses an animation style that is not a straightforward depiction of its world. You can tell it’s New York and there are turtles and other mutants, but the animation combines styles like teenage sketchbooks to create a livelier viewing experience.
The film sticks to the turtles’ origins, mutated by green ooze along with their father figure, the rat named Splinter. The experiments by scientist Baxter Stockman (voice of Giancarlo Esposito) led to the creation of some familiar mutants like Bebop (Seth Rogen) and Rocksteady (John Cena), along with some new...

Back in the 1990s, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was all the rage. Thanks to the hit animated series and feature film franchise, the heroes in a half-shell became one of the biggest pop culture sensations of the decade, sparking various imitators like "Biker Mice from Mars" and "Street Sharks." But there was no beating Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo, especially when it came to the expansive action figure line from Playmates.
On top of the standard versions of all four turtles, as well as their adoptive father Splinter and primary villains Shredder, Krang, Rocksteady, and Bebop, Playmates released an eclectic array of villains along with a bunch of goofy variations on Leo, Donny, Raph, and Mikey. Nickelodeon’s Super Bowl booth is going to get really animated on Game Day.
The Paramount Global kids-focused outlet plans to offer a simulcast of Super Bowl Lviii aimed at children and families while corporate cousin CBS broadcasts the more traditional version of the pigskin extravaganza. And while Nickelodeon will rely on sportscasters Nate Burleson and Noah Eagle to call the game, it will also tap the expertise of SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star. Those two cartoon mainstays — voiced by Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke, respectively — will help relay the action to viewers during Nickelodeon’s Super Bowl event.
Others will also join in. Sandy Cheeks, voiced by Carolyn Lawrence, will hold forth from the sidelines, while Larry the Lobster, voiced by a different actor, Mr. Lawrence, will provide live commentary. Dora the Explorer, voiced by Diana Zermeño, and Boots, voiced by Asher Colton Spence, will explain penalty calls when they arise.

Producer and co-writer Seth Rogen is one of the many talents behind this thrilling reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Directed by Jeff Rowe (the animation genius behind The Mitchells Versus The Machines) and pulsing with energy and originality, it’s an absolute treat for newcomers and die-hard Turtle fans alike.

Singer and Lost Boys star Corey Feldman opened up about his new life as a rock star and performing for large crowds in his new uInterview.
Feldman explained to uInterview founder Erik Meers about how he is finishing up his Love ReTours tours this month, which began last year.
“It was a great successful tour, we kept adding legs because it was successful, and it kind of kept growing in its success and its numbers and whatever,” Feldman said. “We just kept kind of getting bigger and better venues and, you know, kind of building as we went.”
He recalled how he was shocked at how big of an audience had gathered for his performance at Riot Fest in Chicago recently.
“I’ve done shows bigger than that with my band Truth Movement,” he said. “We did a show on the Santa Cruz boardwalk one year where I was told they had 60,000 people.

When you think of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there are a few things that probably spring to mind immediately: the word “Cowabunga!”, pizza-slices, ‘90s bodaciousness, and martial-arts badassery. Probably less likely to appear are emotional coming-of-age classics and ruminations on the fleeting nature of youth. But for all that this summer’s animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will bring its fair share of ninja stars, hip-hop needle-drops, and – of course – those heroes in a half-shell, it’s also drawing from some seminal cinematic explorations of young life.
“We wanted it to be like Stand By Me and Lady Bird. But, you know, with Ninja Turtles,” director Jeff Rowe – tells _Empire. With a fresh young cast voicing the turtles themselves, Rowe’s ambition was to capture their energy and make “the ultimate teenage coming-of-age film”, he explains. “They’ve got a lot of that inauthentic confidence that teenagers...

/Film is still on the ground at CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas this week, where Ben Pearson is reporting back on exclusive first looks at some of the biggest and best movies on the horizon. Among them? A new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot with none other than comedy duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg behind the scenes. The "Superbad" and "This is the End" writers are on board "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" as producers, and the new film looks a lot different than its half-shelled predecessors. For one thing, it stars actual teenagers in a coming-of-age story; for another, it's set to bring a pretty unique animation style to a familiar set of characters.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" hits theaters in August, and the Paramount and Nickelodeon film is bringing in a whole new cast to play fun-loving turtle heroes Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael. Micah Abbey,...

There are more than 4,000 attendees this year at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, and everyone who entered through the Caesars Palace lobby saw the same sight: four statues accessorized with bold-colored eye masks and skateboards propped at their feet. There was no mistaking the reason as the boards boasted the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem title and release date of Aug. 4, 2023.
Consider it a clever tease from the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies’ marketing departments and a wink that the studio could possibly deliver some turtle power during its presentation on Thursday morning. That’s exactly what happened inside the Colosseum as the turtles inspired the opening of Paramount’s presentation, which kicked off shortly after 10 a.m.
A DJ, who was placed at stage left inside a booth outfitted with neon green lighting, blasted A Tribe Called Quest’s “Can I Kick It” as 16 dancers took the stage (some...

We open with April talking to the young heroes, where Mikey asks if there are more humans who will accept them. April answers honestly, “No, not at all.” They send set out to take down the crime lord Superfly who is ravaging the city. The Turtles think they have the upper hand,...
