- Thomas M. Dykers was born on December 3, 1905 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. He was a producer and writer, known for The Silent Service (1957), Captain Fathom (1955) and Torpedo Alley (1952). He died on June 13, 1975.
- A retired US Navy Rear Admiral, during World War II he was the skipper of the USS Jack (SS-259) submarine, which fought against the Japanese in the Pacific. The TV series The Silent Service (1957) was based on the exploits of his and other submarines during World War II and the Korean War; he was also the producer, narrator and sometimes writer of the series.
