Christina was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, USA. She holds a B.A. in Film Directing from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and an M.F.A. in Screenwriting, also from UCLA, where she won the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship in Screenwriting and the top screenwriting prize at UCLA's year-end emerging talent showcase.
Christina studied piano, guitar, dance, and acting from preschool (age 2.5) through university, completing a year at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and an A.A. in Theater Arts, before transferring to UCLA. She has also studied extensively at Playhouse West in Los Angeles, HB Studios in New York City, and the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in Sydney, Australia.
