Scott Ewers
- Cinematographer
- Director
- Camera and Electrical Department
Scott has over 26 years experience in the advertising/ commercial/ film
production and streaming media business. The first 10 years were spent
on the advertising agency side as a Writer/Producer with such companies
as Foote, Cone & Belding - San Francisco and Needham, Harper & Steers -
Chicago working on accounts that include: McDonalds, Levi Strauss, The
Clorox Company, S.C. Johnson, Epson Computers, C&H Sugar, Colony Wines
and many more. For the last 13 years Scott has been a
multi-award-winning Writer/Director/Cameraman in San Francisco. His
list of clients includes: Adobe Systems, Advanced Micro Devices, Apple
Computers, Barnes-Hind, Charles Schwab & Co., The Clorox Company,
General Electric, General Mills, Hasbro Toys, Intel, Kraft Inc., Lanier
Products, Levi Strauss, McDonalds, Microsoft Corp., Silicon Graphics,
Sun Microsystems, Syntex Corp. and many more. He has also directed and
photographed two CD-ROM games: "The Daedaleus Encounter" for Mechadeus,
a pioneering effort at an "Interactive Movie" and "Star Wars - Jedi
Knight" for LucasArts. He is still the only outside Director to ever
helm a project for LucasArts. Scott's background in film and theater
allows him to handle both sides of the Director/Cameraman
responsibility with equal aplomb. He is excellent with actors, both
professional and non-professional. He believes firmly in the
collaborative nature of the film business and his shoots are
notoriously pleasant and stimulating for that very reason. He gets the
most out of his cast, crew and clients because he wants everyone to
make their contributions to the final product. We believe it shows on
his reel. Also, because most of the audience for Scott's films are the
men and women of Silicon Valley, the dreamers and builders of the new
age, he brings a sense of responsibility to his work. Many of his films
are clarion calls to these people to understand the enormity of their
impact on the world and to "do the right thing." In 1998, Scott took
his knowledge and expertise into the realm of streaming media where he
helped found the Internet start-up, ON24 as the Vice President of
Production. On24 is one of the original handful of companies that
pioneered streaming media and new forms of multimedia communication on
the web. With the help of many creative people the department grew from
2 to over 35 people by the end of his tenure. ON24 was recently named
one of the "Top 100 Private Companies in America" by Upside Magazine.
In 1999, Scott was honored with his selection as one of the Cameramen
for an extraordinary documentary about the Synthesis Dialogues
Conference in Dharmasala, India. In September of that year, His
Holiness, the Dalai Lama convened a conference of 41 high-level Western
minds at his residence to discuss the synthesis of Eastern and Western
thought. Scott served as Cameraman, Steadi-Cam Operator and Lighting
Director for the project. His list of awards include: a Clio, a
Monitor, a Gold and 2 Silver International Film & TV Festival of New
York awards, 4 Cindys, 5 Joeys, countless Addys, an Andy, a Telly and
several others.
