The Top 5 Coolest Animated Incarnations of Mr. Freeze!by Matt MacNabb
Mr. Freeze is one of the most enigmatic and emotional villains in the Batman's rogues gallery. Orginally dubbed 'Mr. Zero' when he was first introduced to comic book fans back in 1959. His appearances on the 1966 Batman television show altered his name forever to Mr. Freeze! The real birth of this once one-dimensional character, however, came in the Batman cartoons. Legions of Gotham will now countdown the top five animated appearances of the tragic Dr. Victor Fries!
5. Young Justice
The Young Justice cartoon ended too quickly after just two seasons, but Batman fans were treated to a few appearances by the king of cold before it was done! Mr. Freeze appeared in three episodes of the popular series, voiced by Keith Szarabajka. This beefed up older version of Freeze was captured by Batman and Robin and transported back to Arkham Asylum,...

Despite frequently being listed among the great horror directors, Tobe Hooper will always have the hardest job of pleasing his fans. No matter what film he makes, it will always be compared to his 1974 classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. To this day it remains one of the greatest and most chilling horror films of all time and a true work of genius.
The same can‘t really be said of Crocodile or the overly goofy and unpleasant Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Yet people seem to forget Hooper is capable of making films as good as Poltergeist or Salem’s Lot. Sitting somewhere in the middle is 1981’s The Funhouse, now re-released on a deluxe Blu-ray from Arrow Video from yesterday.
Released at the peak of the early 80’s slasher film craze, The Funhouse was Hooper’s first big budget feature. Despite working with a larger budget and studio pressure, the film...

MUNICH -- European Film Promotion, the EU cinema marketing agency, has revamped its signature Shooting Stars program for the upcoming Berlin International Film Festival. The festival is set for Feb. 7-17.
For the first time since EFP was founded in 1997, a jury has selected the top new European actors from among nominees by member organizations. Until now, each country represented in the EFP got to chose its own Shooting Star -- and Germany and France, because of the size of their markets, got two picks each. This led to a veritable meteor shower of hopeful young actors at the annual press conference, casting agent breakfast and awards ceremony during the Berlinale.
The jury for the 2008 Shooting Stars is made up of Italian casting director Beatrice Kruger, U.S. personal manager Derek Power, Danish producer Vibeke Windelov, German cinematographer Michael Ballhaus and the U.K.'s Shooting Star from 2002, Lucy Russell. In another innovation, the jury will mentor the actors selected for this year's program in order to nurture their international careers.

Greta Scacchi has booked back-to-back roles in two Warner Bros. Pictures films opposite two of Hollywood's established leading men. Scacchi, best known for her roles in The Player and Presumed Innocent, will first appear in the untitled Ted Griffin project starring Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Costner and Shirley MacLaine. Scacchi plays Costner's exuberant ex-wife. The movie is shooting in Pasadena. Scacchi then segues to Syriana for writer-director Stephen Gaghan. In the George Clooney-Matt Damon Middle Eastern political drama, which is based on the memoirs of CIA operative Robert Baer, Scacchi will portray Clooney's embittered wife. Both films are being produced by Warners-based Section 8. The Griffin project is produced by Steven Soderbergh, Paula Weinstein and Clooney, while Syriana is being produced by Soderbergh, Michael Nozik and Clooney. Scacchi, who won an Emmy for supporting actress in a miniseries or special for HBO's Rasputin, next appears in Kevin Spacey's Bobby Darin biopic Beyond the Sea. She is represented by Innovative Artists and manager Derek Power.
