The superpowered Hargreeves siblings (aka The Umbrella Academy) have saved the world three times now and can't seem to stop winding up in an altered timeline, but will they be able to do it again in their last hurrah? The original Netflix series exists in a world where one day in 1989, 43 infants were born at random to mothers who showed no signs of being pregnant that day before. Eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) managed to adopt seven of them and train them to be a part of a superhero faction called The Umbrella Academy. The siblings each have various powers and personalities, but this dysfunctional family finds a way to work together no matter what. After all, the universe depends on them.

[This story includes major spoilers for the third season of The Umbrella Academy.]
The third season of The Umbrella Academy picks up right where it left off with the Umbrellas now back in their original timeline. But nothing is how they left it at the end of season one.
There’s a new group of superhumans living in their home — and the Umbrella Academy doesn’t exist. After meeting six of his kids in 1963 during season two, Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) decides to adopt a different batch of seven kids, who are known as “the Sparrow Academy” and are fiercer than the Umbrellas ever were.
Over the course of the new season, which was released on Netflix Wednesday, the Sparrows and the Umbrellas dance around each other (literally and figuratively), looking for ways to either defeat the other group of superhumans or convince them they’re trustworthy, only to betray them in one way or another.

The Equalizer‘s Robyn McCall has taken on a lot of tough cases. It wasn’t until this Sunday’s installment on CBS, however, that she had to contend with a client who wanted her help based on his dreams and visions.

Like many other book-to-tv adaptations, Netflix's The Umbrella Academy strays away from its original source material - and that may actually be a good thing. The first season of The Umbrella Academy takes inspiration from volume one of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá's comic book series called The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite, while season two takes its inspiration from volume two of the comic book series called The Umbrella Academy: Dallas. Notice how I said it takes "inspiration from" versus being "based upon"? Well, that's because minus the characters and a storyline or two . . . there isn't really much similarity between the iterations.
In the first season of The Umbrella Academy, the Hargreeves siblings join together when their long lost brother, Number Five (Aidan Gallagher), returns to present day and tells them the world is ending in eight days. Over the course of the first season,...

You only get to end the world so many times. As much as the apocalypse has reared its ugly head across TV series in the past six months — not to mention the preceding years — there are ways to spin the dread of an imploding planet into a compelling story. There just have to be things worth saving.
In its first season, the Netflix series “The Umbrella Academy” (based on the comics series from Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá) followed its source material predecessor and zeroed in on a handful of adopted family members with incredible abilities. Faced with certainty that a cataclysm of explosions and fallout would come to pass if this ragtag group didn’t act as one, wouldn’t you know it, their actions caused the dang thing.

When “The Umbrella Academy” reveals its second season on Netflix on July 31, it will find the Hargreeves thrown back six decades, separated and fending for their lives.
A three-minute preview of the upcoming season opens after Five (Aidan Gallagher) throws the siblings back in time to escape the apocalypse that Vanya (Ellen Page) precipitated in 2019. But Five’s attempt to save his family has its shortcomings, dropping them in Dallas over a three-year period from 1960 to 1963 and causing another doomsday involving the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
Landing in a 1963 warzone, Five picks up a newspaper with the headline “Soviets Attack U.S.: JFK Declares War on Reds.”
“No, this can’t be right,” says Five in the opening scene of the new season, which you can watch above. “What the hell did we do now?”

Any successful sophomore season has to build on the strengths of its predecessor, particularly in the areas of world building and characterization, and create a compelling new conflict to grab the audience’s attention, and The Umbrella Academy season 2 does just that. One would think that presenting another impending apocalypse for which our heroes are once again responsible would be repetitive, but if anything, this end-of-the-world scenario is even more thrilling because it places everything and everyone in the context of 1960s Dallas just before the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, a quintessential time travel setup second only to going back and killing Hitler.

This time, the Hargreeves family finds themselves in 1960s Dallas, where they must face yet another apocalypse. But somehow, the apocalypse they were looking to avoid is still going to happen, so they must reunite and figure out how their new realities are all connected to save the world.

The Umbrella Academy Season 2 will hit the air Friday, July 31st.
Netflix has now dropped the official trailer that teases a whole lot of information.
Five warned his family that using his powers to escape from Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse was risky. Well, he was right - the time jump scatters the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas.
Over a three year period. Starting in 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they’re the only ones who survived.
Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which - spoiler alert! - turns out is a result of the group’s disruption of the timeline.
Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse.

It's almost time to return to the wonderful and super world of The Umbrella Academy.
Netflix has announced a premiere date for the second season of the hit drama series.
July 31 is the lucky date, and unlike many other shows that have been affected due to the Covid-19 outbreak, The Umbrella Academy Season 2 completed principal photography ahead of the shut down.
Thankfully, post-production was able to continue while the stay at home orders continued, allowing fans to get their fill of one of Netflix's finest series this summer.
On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before.
Seven are adopted by a billionaire who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his "children" to save the world.
Now, the six surviving members reunite upon the news of their father's passing and must work together to solve a mystery surrounding his death.

All hail the Necromancer!
Legacies Season 2 Episode 9 finally lifted the lid on what the hilarious villain had been up to since he peaced out of the Salvatore School holding cells on Legacies Season 1, and it was a satisfying way to set up the second half of Legacies Season 2.
It was perfect that The Necromancer got spat out of Malivore in Texas with no powers, sporting a human face, and forced to work in an ice cream store because it gave viewers all of the witty one-liners you would expect.
Chad was an idiot for following him from the get-go, but charismatic serial killers always seem to get followers, so we can't fault Legacies for that one.
The most surprising aspect of The Necromancer's return is that, in his own way, maybe Malivore was giving him some semblance of peace. Living as a human is not for everyone, but it certainly...

Netflix is well-known for its expansive slate of original series, but its roster of true-crime series are starting to emerge as the highest quality series on the streamer.
The latest effort is Unbelievable, an eight-part limited series that follows a young girl named Marie (Booksmart's Kaitlyn Dever) who is charged with lying about being raped, and the plight of two female detectives tasked with finding out the truth.
From the get-go, it's apparent that the series wants to shine a light on sexual assault, and it does so in an explicit way that will probably make it difficult for some viewers to get through.
That opening installment is not for the faint of heart.

Can we fling that angry, horny man Pearson calls a mayor in the sun? Can he take Angela with him?
Interestingly enough, Pearson Season 1 Episode 9 set Bobby and Angela against one another. It was an inevitability.
What's funny is that both of them make it difficult to determine whose side you're on. It's a wonder Jessica hasn't lost her marbles dealing with both of them as they share a quality of behaving like petulant toddlers.
It seems the only person who isn't gunning for Jessica's throat at every turn is Yoli. God bless Yoli and the badass, titleless business cards she gifted Jessica as thanks for helping with her mother.
Everyone else demands that Jessica fix things, but they either refuse her solutions or withheld information that makes it hard for her to find one.

The critically acclaimed actor and playwright will lead the cast of BBC America's The Watch, a brand new series co-produced by Narrativia and BBC Studios.

We are less than two weeks away from the premiere of The Good Doctor Season 3 and ABC has dropped the first official trailer.
It looks set to pick up in the immediate aftermath of The Good Doctor Season 2 Episode 18 which found Shaun asking Carly to go on a date with him.
But that doesn't mean it's all going to be plain sailing. Carly wants her and Shaun to be the ones at the wheel of their relationship.
In one scene, she tells Claire to butt out and to stop interfering. It makes sense that Carly would want people to stay out, but Shaun prefers to turn to those he trusts for assistance.
That probably explains why he's asking for some help from Glassman.

Former Training Day star Justin Cornwell has been cast as a lead in NBC’s new midseason character-driven procedural drama series The InBetween. He replaces Yusuf Gatewood.
At the time of the pilot’s pickup to series in May, it was unveiled that the project would be reconceiving and recasting one of the two male leads opposite star Harriet Dyer, which was played in the pilot by Gatewood. The character, originally named Damien Parrish, is now called Damien Asante.
Written by Moira Kirland, The InBetween centers on Cassie Bishop (Dyer) who was born with a gift, though she may call it a curse. She can see and communicate with the dead, helping them with their unresolved problems … whether she likes it or not. When her longtime friend Det. Tom Hackett (Paul Blackthorne) and his new partner, former FBI Agent Damien Asante (Cornwell), need help solving a darkly puzzling murder, Cassie agrees to use her abilities.
