Fox is prepping an investigative crime special about the still-unsolved murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls.
“Who Shot Biggie & Tupac?” will be led by Ice-T and Soledad O’Brien and airs on Sept. 24. The special comes 20 years after the murders rocked the hip-hop world.
Shakur was killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in September 1996. Smalls, born Christopher George Latore Wallace, was fatally shot by an unknown attacker in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in March 1997.

What is it? Two old college friends cross paths as adults and beat the ever-loving crap out of each other.
Why see it? Onur Tukel’s latest is also his best thanks in part to the lead performances by Sandra Oh and Anne Heche. They do a good job of manipulating our sympathies and concerns ensuring that our loyalties shift from act to act. Themes of female friendships, class distinctions, and redemption run through alongside a satirical look at modern life, and there’s a terrifically wicked streak throughout. Funny, smart, and brutal are all apt descriptors for this cynical look at our violent selves.

A Florida woman has been charged with first-degree murder and child neglect after allegedly strangling her 1-year-old daughter to death with a string of Halloween lights.

The end of “Undercover Boss” is usually the uplifting moment when the executive of a company reveals him or herself to the employees, then offers them gifts and praise for the hard work they’ve been doing. But when Texas chain Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill CEO Doug Guller offered a 23-year-old waitress a breast augmentation, the online reaction was swift and very negative.
The employee, named Grace, had earlier in the episode suggested that she would like to have breast augmentation surgery. Along with the breast augmentation, Grace was also gifted with a key role in the company’s marketing efforts.

According to the 23-page autopsy report obtained by TheWrap, the rapper -- born Christopher George Latore Wallace in Brooklyn -- was hit by four bullets, all of which passed through the door of a Chevy Suburban before striking the 24-year-old rapper, though only one gunshot wound was deemed fatal by the coroner. The Notorious B.I.G. might have died 15 years ago, but his legacy has not been forgotten. The rapper was murdered in Los Angeles in 1997, and his recently released autopsy report reveals exactly how he died.
TMZ obtained the never-before-seen report that details the four gunshot wounds that Biggie Smalls -- real name Christopher George Latore Wallace -- received during his murder. One struck him in the wrist, another in his back, a third on his outer left thigh and the final fatal gunshot wound entered his body through his right hip and tore several of his vital organs.
There is a drawn image included in the report that shows the path the four bullets traveled through the then-24-year-old's body, but that might be too graphic for some. According to the autopsy, the final bullet went through B.I.G.'s colon, liver, heart and the upper left lobe of his lung.

Creative cinematographer and a key member of the Powell-Pressburger movie production team
Although the cinematographer Christopher Challis, who has died aged 93, was an essential member of the Archers production company of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, he joined them as director of photography at the time of their decline. However, he worked on more of the great British writing-directing team's films than any other cinematographer. These eccentric, extravagant, intelligent and witty fantasies went against the British realist tradition, allowing more scope for a creative cinematographer such as Challis. The sensuous use of Technicolor and flamboyant sets and designs made them closer to the MGM world of Vincente Minnelli and of Stanley Donen, who used Challis on six of his films.
Perhaps Challis's finest achievement was on Powell and Pressburger's The Tales of Hoffmann (1951) which, as he explained, had "no optical effects or tricks. It was all edited in...

Gary Oldman as Jackie Flannery in State Of Grace (Phil Joanou, 1990, USA):
Long considered one of the most talented actors in cinema, it’s very strange that his outstanding acting as the younger brother of Ed Harris’ local crime boss in this underrated film doesn’t get talked about nearly enough when discussing Oldman’s body of work. This is a must-see performance for all Oldman fans. For the record, State Of Grace is a far better Irish mob film than The Departed (Martin Scorsese, 2006, USA), primarily because it contains much better acting across the board. Oldman was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (Tomas Alfredson, 2011, UK/France).
Other notable Gary Oldman performances: Prick Up Your Ears (Stephen Frears, 1987, USA), Dracula (Francis Ford Coppola, 1992, USA), True Romance (Tony Scott, 1993, USA), Leon: The Professional (Luc Besson, 1994, France), Air Force One (Wolfgang Petersen, 1997, USA), The Contender (Rod Lurie,...

Michael Ovitz is developing Tom Clancy’s Homeland Security with TNT. THR reports that the project, "a procedural revolving around a team of domestic intelligence operatives who battle enemies at home and abroad." The project is being written by Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Clancy and Chris George.
Ovitz will executive produce, which will be the former Walt Disney Co. topper and CAA co-founder’s first television on-screen credit. Grillo-Marxuach (Lost), George and Clancy will also serve as exec producers. Homeland Security marks a rare TV endeavor for Clancy.
I ama fan off the Jack Ryan films and am interested to see this procedural drama on the small screen. TNT is one of my personal favorite networks aside from AMC and HBO for shows. What are your thoughts on this news?...

Former Veefer Claire Howorth stands in against her old teammates. Photograph by Chris George. Just because you have a collegial relationship with someone, that doesn’t mean you have to go easy on them—Christian Bale and Naomi Campbell taught us that. So it was last night on the softball field, when Vanity Fair showed no mercy to a Daily Beast team that included some of the magazine’s recent collaborators, crushing them by a score of 15-1. The ties between the two teams ran deep. The Daily Beast’s coach, Randall Lane, had his new book, The Zeroes, excerpted in Vanity Fair’s July issue; their catcher, Claire Howorth, spent several years with the Veefers before departing for the Beast last month; and their editor, Tina Brown, led V.F. for nearly a decade. But any feelings of amity evaporated swiftly in the 100-degree heat in Central Park.

Chicago – The great cult movie studio Blue Underground continues their pattern of excellent Blu-ray releases for unheralded horror gems with the recent releases of the Lucio Fulci zombie film “City of the Living Dead” and one of the most underrated westerns ever made in “Django”. While they don’t have much in common outside of studio and cult status, both are worth a look.

By Marci Brennan and Chris George. It was a crisp, clear autumn day as we left London for our first trip to Germany, a two-day jaunt to West Berlin. We’d been staying with family in England and had decided on a whim to visit Henny and Luisa, German friends we’d met that summer in Boston, where we lived at the time. We were in our mid-20s; Henny and Luisa were younger and still lived with their families in Frohnau-Reinickendorf, on the outskirts of West Berlin. We flew Dan-Air, a now defunct British airline, out of Gatwick. It was a short and unremarkable flight, except for the businessman in front of us who was intently reading a newspaper. The headline was visible over the top of the seat—the East German government had resigned. Near dusk, our plane landed at Tegel International Airport. It was Wednesday, November 8, 1989. Henny...

The YouTube Symphony Orchestra, led by Michael Tilson Thomas, performs Mason Bates’s “Warehouse Medicine from B-Sides” at Carnegie Hall. iPhonetography by Chris George. Is this the beginning of classical music’s overdue D.I.Y. revolution? Because supremely gifted superstars are all well and good, but a genre needs a healthy underground to stay vital. The whole thing started at one of those meetings you can only imagine happening in the “don’t be evil” world of Google: two young YouTube employees had 90 seconds to pitch an idea, and they made the most of it. What if we asked musicians around the world to audition via YouTube for spots in a symphony orchestra, they asked, and then invited the winners to play at Carnegie Hall? The idea was a hit, and it came to fruition last night, with San Francisco’s Michael Tilson Thomas conducting the very first performance...

I'm not sure how many hip-hop fans read the site, specifically the work of rotund rapper Notorious B.I.G. The new biopic NOTORIOUS comes from director George Tillman Jr. (MEN OF HONOR) and the new teaser clip has arrived, and unsurprisingly looks like a music video.
