Martin Scorcese's powerful religious film, following the Catholic church's mission to instill Christianity in Fuedal Japan, Silence is coming out this March! Come inside to find out how you can get your hands on it early.
One of the biggest snubs of this year's Academy Awards, Silence, is making its way to digital and blu-ray, merely 3 months after being on the big screen. The Martin Scorsese religious feature, starring Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, and Liam Neeson will arrive on Blu-Ray on March 28th, but for audiences who can't wait that long the Digital HD version will be available March 14th.

We last reported on the the Elton John biopic, Rocketman, where there were a lot of rumors out there, nothing official. Now it’s confirmed Tom Hardy (Bronson, Inception, Warrior, The Dark Knight Rises) will star as the musical legend. Rocketman is scheduled to shoot in 2014 and will feature new recordings from Elton John that will accompany the story from child prodigy to superstar.
I’ve wanted to see an Elton John biopic for a long time, so consider me excited. There is so much story to tell and how they will pull it off and how Tom hardy will portray the legend is going to be interesting.
The movie was written by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot), Rocketman will be directed by Michael Gracey.

A few months ago word got out that Tom Hardy was looking at playing Elton John in a biopic called Rocketman. That casting choice has now been set in stone by an official announcement. It's still hard for me to imagine Hardy in this role. He's such a great actor, though, that I'm sure he's going to be fantastic in the movie.
The movie has been described as, "a biographical musical fantasy that will weave together John’s life and his music... it follows his life story from a child piano prodigy (who by age 11 won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music) to a young man who rebelled against his strict upbringing, wore outrageous costumes and became a global icon who teamed with songwriter Bernie Taupin to sell more records that just about any musical artist of his era."
This is going to be very different from anything we've seen Hardy do before.

Is everyone ready for another version of Sherlock Holmes? In addition to the Robert Downey Jr films we have BBC’s wonderful Sherlock series and the surprisingly not awful Elementary on CBS. What more can they do? Oh, make him an old man I guess. Alright.
Bill Condon is set to direct A Slight Trick of The Mind based on the novel by Mitch Cullin. This will be a Sherlock Holmes film which features the long retired detective in the futuristic year of 1947. The press release has this to say:
In 1947, Sherlock Holmes, long retired, lives in a sleepy Sussex village with his housekeeper and her amateur-sleuthing son. But far from living out a peaceful retirement, he is haunted by an unsolved case from fifty years ago. He remembers only fragments: a confrontation with an angry husband, a secret bond with his beautiful but unstable wife.
With his legendary mental powers on the wane,...

Sir Ian McKellen is re-teaming with his "Gods and Monsters" director Bill Condon for the retired Sherlock Holmes story "A Slight Trick of the Mind" at Al Film, See-Saw, FilmNation and BBC Films.
Set in 1947, McKellen plays a long-retired Sherlock Holmes. Holmes now lives in a sleepy Sussex village with his housekeeper and her amateur-sleuthing son.
It's not a peaceful retirement though. The famous Baker Street detective is haunted by an unsolved fifty year old case involving an angry husband and his unstable wife, a case of which he only remembers fragments.
Jeffrey Hatcher is adapting the script from the novel by Mitch Cullin. Anne Carey, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Aviv Giladi will produce. Filming begins next April in the UK.
Condon's next film is the Wikileaks drama "The Fifth Estate" which premieres tonight in Toronto ahead of a theatrical release next month.
