The Fast & Furious films love their over the top action. In the trailer for F9 alone we’ve got a “magnet plane” catching a car, a Jeep driving along a collapsing bridge, a car somehow catching a steel cable and using it launch itself across a gorge, and a car with a rocket engine strapped to it.
Spy Racers, the animated spin-off to Fast & Furious, is no exception to this. The show has often delved into its own over-the-top action and in the show’s third season, available now on Netflix, the show takes this action to another level. In in the fourth episode, ‘The Hunt’ the entire story is just one long action filled car chase. Not only that, it’s an action scene that’s a clear Mad Max send up.

Fast & Furious Spy Racers, like the entire Fast & Furious franchise, is all about family. Not a traditional type of family but one of different people not always connected by blood who come together for the greater good. It’s the main appeal of the Fast & Furious franchise to many of its fans and one that was slowly built over time in the films.
But with Spy Racers a whole new family had to be created from the jump and the team behind it didn’t have the luxury of several movies to slowly (and somewhat accidentally) create one. They had to come up with not only a family that could stand alongside the ones from the massively successful films but also appeal to the show’s younger demographic.

The following contains spoilers for Fast & Furious Spy Racers season 2.
Fast & Furious Spy Racers is something a throwback to the past, a kids TV tie-in to a popular adult movie franchise. While the Fast & Furious films are no Rambo (which somehow got a kids cartoon) it’s still a challenge to take a well beloved franchise of films and turn them into a TV series meant for kids. That’s just what executive producer Tim Hedrick has done, taking elements of the Fast & Furious universe but making sure the show can stand on its own for kids which includes Vin Diesel’s own family.
Hedrick takes us into the process of pitching his take on the Fast & Furious franchise, referencing the films, working with Vin Diesel, and even touches on those rumors of the franchise going to space.

Voltron: Legendary Defender’s ending was pretty conclusive, but could there be more stories to tell?
This article contains spoilers for Voltron Legendary Defender season 8.
The ending for season 8 of Voltron seemingly tied up all loose ends. The galaxy was saved and the characters are all moving on with their lives. There was no hook that any great evil was still out there, so it seems like the Voltron Legendary Defender story is at its end.
Or is it? After all, there was that line about the Holt family establishing the next generation of Legendary Defenders along with imagery tied to Vehicle Voltron. Could fans hope to see a sequel or spinoff?
In previous interviews with Den of Geek, showrunners Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery have discussed the possibility of a sequel or spinoff but nothing has ever been confirmed or given serious discussion (as far...

If you thought the Fast and Furious franchise couldn’t go anywhere else, you were wrong. With the Comcast-NBCUniversal acquisition of Dreamworks, Dreamworks Animation Television have been given the green light to adapt the franchise for an animated series for Netflix.
The story will follow Tony Toretto, Dom (Vin Diesel)’s teenage cousin, as he and his friends are recruited by the government to infiltrate an elite racing league that is a front for a criminal organisation bent on world domination.
The series is currently in development, so it won’t be hitting the streaming service for a while; certainly not before the Hobbs and Shaw spin-off starring Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson which is due for release in July 2019.

Netflix has announced that they will be producing a Fast & Furious animated series that will be developed by DreamWorks Animation Television. Out of all of the animated series that could have been announced, I wasn't expecting this!
The series will center around Tony Toretto, and he will follow "in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination."
It sounds like it could be fun. Netflix has actually put out some decent animated content, so I'll be hoping for the best. The series will be produced by Tim Hedrick, who wrote for DreamWorks’ Voltron: Legendary Defender series, and Bret Haaland, who has produced DreamWorks’ animated shows like All Hail King Julien and The Penguins of Madagascar. They will also both serve as showrunners.

“We are thrilled to take our fantastic partnership with DreamWorks Animation to the next level with new opportunities from the vast library of Universal Pictures,” said Melissa Cobb, Vice President of Kids and Family at Netflix. “The ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise is a global phenomenon beloved by audiences of all ages, and we can’t wait to get started on the new animated series that will capture the action, heart, humor and global appeal of the feature films.”

An animated Fast & Furious series is headed to Netflix. It is the first series in an expansion of an ongoing multi-year deal between Netflix and DreamWorks Animation Television for original animated kids and family programming. The expansion, following Comcast-NBCUniversal’s acquisition of the animation studio, includes a first look at DreamWorks Animation animated series based on Universal film properties. First off is Fast & Furious, based on Universal’s multi-billion dollar franchise. The series is executive produced by Vin Diesel, Neal Moritz and Chris Morgan, producers on the live-action movies. DreamWorks will also continue creating series based on original and acquired IP.
In the Fast & Furious animated series, teenager Tony Toretto follows in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination.

DreamWorks Animation has released the first trailer for Season 2 of their Netflix animated series Voltron: Legendary Defender. If you haven't watched the first season yet, you should do that because it's really good and fantastically entertaining, especially if you're a fan of the original '80s Voltron series.
It's great that the series is getting a second season and it looks like it picks up where season one left off. Each member of the Voltron team and their lion mechs are separated in different locations and they are cut off from each other. Things don't start off well for them and it looks like their journey is going to get really intense.
Five unsuspecting teenagers, transported from Earth into the middle of a sprawling intergalactic war, become pilots for five robotic lions in the battle to protect the universe from evil. Only through the true power of teamwork can they...

At Comic-Con, DreamWorks Animation announced that they will be renewing their Voltron: Legendary Defender Netflix series for a second season! This is awesome news, and I was hoping we would get a second season!
Executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos and co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery did an incredible job rebooting the classic '80s cartoon series. The will both be back to lead the charge on season two with writer Tim Hedrick.
The best part is we don't have to wait very long! The second season will premiere later this year! According to the press release the second season will follow Team Voltron "in the wake of Haggar's disruption of their wormhole as they are scattered across the universe."
If you haven't watched it yet, you really need to check it out because it's a freakin' blast! I loved it, my kids loved it, and it seems like many of the...

Friday, March 25, 2016 – Live from the packed WonderCon 2016 Voltron panel, executive Producer Joaquim Dos Santos (The Legend of Korra, Avatar: The Last Airbender), Co-Executive Producer Lauren Montgomery (The Legend of Korra), and writer Tim Hedrick (The Legend of Korra, Avatar: The Last Airbender) sat alongside newly unveiled cast members to showcase never-before-seen artwork and footage of DreamWorks Animation’s all-new Netflix Original Series Voltron: Legendary Defender, debuting June 10, 2016.
Dos Santos shared “As children of the 80’s who grew up with Voltron what was there not to love? You had 5 awesome lions, piloted by 5 awesome heroes who combined to form a giant, sword wielding Titan! It unapologetically married Sci-fi and Fantasy in one incredibly over the top, bombastic package. Fans of the new series [Voltron: Legendary defender] can look for us to keep all those elements but also expect a much more fleshed out universe with a rich backstory and characters who will evolve over the course of the series.

Earlier this year we learned that Netflix was developing a new Voltron animated series called Voltron: Legendary Defender. We got a teaser poster for the series last month, and it seemed to spark some excitement among fans of the franchise. The series has taken a positive step forward that might get you a little bit more excited.
According to Nerdist, the streaming service has hired The Legend of Korra associate producer Lauren Montgomery and Legend of Korra director Joaquim Dos Santos to be the showrunners on the series. That was one of the most well-made and popular animated series in recent memory, so it’s great that they brought in this kind of talent. They also both worked on Avatar: The Last Airbender and various DC animated projects.
There are still no other details regarding what we can expect from the series, but I’m expecting greatness. Fans would not accept anything less.

In news I definitely wasn’t expecting to hear today, Platinum Games, the developer behind titles such as Bayonetta and Vanquish, is working on a game based around the hit Nickelodeon TV Show, The Legend of Korra. The title will be published by Activision and is currently slated for a digital release on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC later this year.
Taking place during the shows second and third seasons, The Legend of Korra will feature a story written by series scribe Tim Hedrick. Fans of the show can look forward into stepping into the titular Avatar’s shoes, as she uses her various elemental based attacks in order to fight off familiar foes, as well as battle other Benders in a 3-on-3 Pro-Bending arena.
A separate version of The Legend Of Korra will also hit the Nintendo 3Ds this year. Developed by Webfoot Technologies, perhaps...

A wise man (Ok, Max Bialystock from The Producers) once said “When you've got it, flaunt it!” This is wisdom Legend of Korra knows well; with the show's original animation team, the meticulous artisans of Studio Mir, back in tow, and an episode set in a surreal universe where anything goes, “it” was flaunted and then some. Last week, Korra and her surrogate sister Jinora fell down a dragonfly bunny hole to the spirit world. In “A New Spiritual Age,” connections to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland grew beyond resemblance to full-blown allusion as the duo took their first steps into the parallel universe. Korra arrives with a Queen of Hearts in her crosshairs, the religious zealot Unalaq who is bent on spreading darkness across the land. But in Carrollian tradition, she first had to run into the inhabitants of Wonderland.Writer Tim Hedrick truncates Carroll's story in faithful fashion.

Avatar: The Last Airbender spin-off The Legend of Korra will launch its second 'book' (read: season) on Nickelodeon on September 13th. To prepare viewers for the fantasy series' return, its creators have launched a web companion to add extra flavor to their world. The three-part Republic City Hustle provides a back story for two main characters and features a unique, blocky animation style. Republic City Hustle follows brothers Mako and Bolin, each of whom possess the ability to "bend" elements (the central plot device of both Avatar and Korra). Before the brothers befriended Korra, they lived together as orphans on the streets of the show's capital, Republic City, where they did whatever they could to scrape by. In the first episode, Mako and Bolin team up to con a little old lady, with a short bending battle thrown in for good measure. "This short was written by Korra writer Tim Hedrick...

Former Carsey-Werner executive David Tochterman has revved up development at his Tochterman Prods., setting up three projects at HBO, FX and TNT. Additionally, he has added a management division to the company. Set up at HBO through HBO Independent Prods., Operation Desert Sands is a single-camera comedy written by Dave Thomas and Tim Hedrick. In the vein of M*A*S*H* and Catch 22, the show is set at a military base in Iraq. Thomas and Tochterman are exec producing. Sands reunites Tochterman and Thomas, who worked together on the ABC/Carsey-Werner sitcom Grace Under Fire when Tochterman was an executive at the indie company and served as an exec producer on the series.
