Brad Silberling's 2009 comedy/adventure "Land of the Lost" was a big-budget re-imagining of Sid and Marty Krofft's low-rent 1974 TV series of the same name. In the TV show, Marshall (Spencer Milligan), Will (Wesley), and Holly (Kathy Coleman) are on a routine river-rafting expedition when they encounter the biggest earthquake ever documented. They ride a raft through an aperture in the Earth and wind up in the Land of the Lost, a subterranean world ruled by dinosaurs and populated by ape-like proto-humans known as the Pakuni. Later in the series, there are discussions about having sailed through a time doorway, although the Land of the Lost is not prehistoric Earth, but a bizarre nether-realm filled with magic crystals, ineffable high-tech obelisks, and evil lizard people called Sleestaks. "Land of the Lost" was a touchstone of Gen-x kiddie entertainment.

Bradley Cooper has done many heroics in his films. But apparently that carries over to real life as well.
Brookie Shields shared In her Glamour 2023 Women of the Year interview that Cooper came to her rescue when she experienced a grand mal seizure. The incident happened before a performance of her one-woman show, Previously Owned by Brooke Shields, at New York City’s Café Carlyle.
“I was preparing for the show, and I was drinking so much water, and I didn’t know I was low in sodium. I was waiting for an Uber. I get down to the bottom of the steps, and I start evidently looking weird, and [the people I was with] were like, ‘Are you okay?’” she said.
After leaving the venue for “no reason at all. — I’m like, ‘Why am I out here?’”– she returned inside.
“I go in, two women come up to me; I don’t know them.

Gloria Sanchez, the production partnership between Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum that ramped up after Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy ended their long partnership, today launches Theater Camp. Coming on the heels of the Apple TV+ musical Spirited, Theater Camp premieres shortly at Eccles as an acquisition title. “Pretty Baby,” a two-part documentary about the intense highs and lows of American icon Brooke Shields, brought the house down with its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday.
The doc explores the appalling sexualization of Shields beginning at age 9, the top-tier modeling and acting career that followed, and the urgent conversations she inspires around what society expects of women.
Directed by Lana Wilson (Taylor Swift’s “Miss Americana”), “Pretty Baby” confronts milestones in Shields’ life that, in a post #MeToo world, shocked the audience at Park City’s Eccles Theater. Pre-pubescent nude photoshoots, male talk show hosts asking if 12-year-old Shields enjoys being a sex symbol, the horrors of an alcoholic mom and manager and Shields’ notable public battles with the likes of Tom Cruise are all on the table.
“I’ve always made it an important part of my journey to be as honest as I could.

It’s almost impossible to imagine now, but the internet used to be a fun place where people could gather to enjoy themselves and unite over a singular piece of comedic content. That’s exactly what happened on April 12, 2007, when longtime collaborators Adam McKay and Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Step Brothers) and writer-producer Chris Henchy (Entourage, The Other Guys) uploaded a video called “The Landlord” to their experimental comedy website Funny Or Die. The 144-second clip, featuring Ferrell “arguing” with his trash-talking landlord — played famously by McKay’s 2-year-old daughter, Pearl — had 60,000 views within a few hours of posting.
“The Landlord” became a blueprint for Fod’s frills-free Mo: Upload a shortform video to the site and let viewers vote on whether to send it to the home page — thus, funny or die. (To date, “The Landlord” has amassed some 158 million views across all platforms.
It’s almost impossible to imagine now, but the internet used to be a fun place where people could gather to enjoy themselves and unite over a singular piece of comedic content. Referencing the 2014 video “Through a Pedophile’s Eyes” made with co-defendant Aries Spears, the Afterparty star took to social media early Monday morning to say that “clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all – and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it.”
In the Instagram post, Haddish also said, “unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there’s very little that I can say right now.”

Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams in their latest film play an Icelandic pop duo called Fire Saga with dreams of competing in the Eurovision song competition, and they’ll get their chance even as they stuff crotches, fall from wires and proceed to humiliate all of Iceland.
“Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga” is a parody film about the wildly popular, international singing competition that has birthed artists like Celine Dion and Abba, but Ferrell and McAdams’ Fire Saga aren’t even in the same league.
“All of Iceland thinks we are a joke. And my father is ashamed of me,” Ferrell’s long-haired Lars says to his band mate Sigrit. “He looked me in the eyes and said, ‘I am ashamed of you.”

Brooke Shields and her daughter, Rowan Francis, are channeling their inner “Dancing Queen.”
On Monday, the mother-daughter duo lip-synced to Abba’s “Angel Eyes,” featured in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again while wearing bathrobes and pink towels wrapped around their heads.
During their sing-a-long, which Shields, 54, shared to Instagram, the pair initially nailed the lines while simultaneously sipping on peach-colored drinks held in their hands.
But in one take, Rowan, 16, started giggling after messing up one of the lyrics and losing her place in the song — causing her famous mom to also break out in hysterics.

Rhea Seehorn really only came out to Hollywood so she could watch The Sopranos.
In the spring of 2003, Seehorn was nearly a decade into her acting career, largely in East Coast theater productions. The work was fulfilling, but low-paying. Disney-20th Century’s launch of the Harrison Ford movie has opened well above pre-release expectations and will wind up with a $3 million lead on “Sonic.” Stx’s supernatural horror sequel “Brahms: The Boy II” is battling “Bad Boys for Life” for fourth place with about $6 million at 2,151 venues, in line with forecasts.
Paramount’s second weekend of “Sonic” has slid 57% to about $25 million at 4,198 sites after its stellar launch over the Presidents’ Day holiday weekend. The film, a live-action and CGI hybrid about the speedy hedgehog, will finish the weekend with about $105 million in its first 10 days in North America.

It’s a tricky balance, making a movie from a TV show.
If the film is a replica, fans would feel ripped off paying for a ticket when they could have turned on the TV. However, if it’s very far afield, fans could also feel cheated. Not to worry with “Impractical Jokers: The Movie,” though: Opening Feb. 21, the film introduces a twist and flashbacks to 1994 (including a plotline with Paula Abdul), but retains the zaniness that makes the Tenderloins beloved.
“The story idea had to be good and had to work within an established dynamic,” says director Chris Henchy who co-wrote the film with the Tenderloins.
Henchy recalls the moment he became a fan. His wife, Brooke Shields, was watching “Impractical Jokers” with their daughters. He walked into the room with a cup of hot coffee, and two episodes later, having not moved, was holding a cup of cold coffee.

truTV’s Impractical Jokers head to the big screen for a feature-length film that will see the boys in comedic competition.
Impractical Jokers has been building a fanbase on truTV, TBS and TNT for nearly a decade, with the consistently high-ranked cable series – launched back in 2011 – currently thriving in its eighth season. Yet, it appears that the show’s perennially prurient pranksters are making the jump to the big screen with Impractical Jokers: The Movie, which, serving as the first-ever film from truTV, is coming to theaters soon.
Chris Henchy directed the film, which focuses on the improvisation-heavy quartet of Jokers themselves – members of comedy troupe The Tenderloins – in James “Murr” Murray, Brian “Q” Quinn, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano. Indeed, the boys are clearly upgrading their temerity-teeming tomfoolery to a grandiose scale for cinemas in early 2020.
