John Hipwell is a highly experienced and skilled Feature Film Producer with twenty-one feature film credits. His most recent feature film is the soon to be released South Korean blockbuster ROAD TO BOSTON (2020). John is the sole Australian Producer for the scenes lensed in Regional Victoria's Bendigo, Ballarat and Geelong.
Trained at the VCA (Swinburne Campus), John is credited on early iconic feature films, including ALVIN PURPLE (1973), ONE MORE MINUTE (SNAP SHOT) (1979), and MAD MAX (1979).
John has accrued numerous Producer credits on broadcast documentaries, TV and cinema commercials, corporate communications, video artworks, and countless short films, leading to international co-productions on feature films, documentaries and business communication productions.
Over numerous successful years and the countless film productions he has worked on, many have been invited, nominated, and won artistic and technical merit awards. For example, LADY STAY DEAD won the Fanatafestival for Best Thriller (1982). IS THIS THE REAL WORLD received three Honourable mentions and won the Gold Award for best film at the Indonesian International Film Awards (2015). The short films FATAL FLAME (2017), Directed by Janet Dimelow, won four film festivals and ROAD.DOGS with South Sudanese director Ez Eldin Deng was invited to fourteen film festivals winning at the Barcelona Planet Film Festival (2020) and the Tagore Int Film Festival (2020), along with three finalist nominations.
