- Kathryn Howell is an American actress known for a wide variety of character roles in film and television. She has played grieving Moms (Criminal Minds (2005), The Zodiac (2005), Cry in the Wild: The Taking of Peggy Ann (1991)), was terrified by a giant flying peach (James and the Giant Peach (1996)), and snatched at gunpoint by Sean Penn (The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004). She has been a drug addict, a homeless woman, and John Heard's alcoholic ex-wife (Blown Away (1988)). On the lighter side Kathryn has had the privilege of portraying a backwoods psychic (Ray McKinnon's Chrystal (2004)), a conjoined twin in a 1930's freak show (Tales from the Crypt (1989)), and a sassy diner waitress opposite Vincent D'Onofrio and Gregory Hines (Good Luck (1996)).
A life long actor, Kathryn has worked extensively on stage, holds a BFA in Theatre from UNC-Chapel Hill, and received a full scholarship for advanced study at American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. - Lost her twin sister, Margaret Howell, on July 26, 2000 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She died of ovarian cancer. They both worked together in Scarecrow in a Garden of Cucumbers (1972) and in one episode of Tales from the Crypt (TV Series).
