The 76th Locarno Film Festival is hosting one of the largest international retrospectives of Mexican popular cinema in decades, encompassing 36 titles of varying genres, from dramas to film noir as well as comedies, musicals, horror and sports.
Putting together “Daily Spectacle – The Different Seasons of Mexican Popular Cinema” took at least two years, according to writer and programmer Olaf Möller, who curated the selection alongside critic Roberto Turigliatto and in close collaboration with Filmoteca Unam director Hugo Villa and other key experts.
The unprecedented showcase of Mexican films ranging from the 1940s to the 1960s spans some 30 years of extraordinary creativity, which inspired subsequent generations of Mexican filmmakers.
Locarno first hosted a retrospective of Mexican cinema in 1957 but this new showcase goes beyond the Golden Age to more popular titles, with the oldest being “En Tiempos de Don Porfirio” (1940) and the youngest among them “Olimpiada en México”(1969), “two films that...

The star-studded ensemble cast of “Shotgun Wedding” pulled the trigger on some R&r with their own movies.
Turns out, the best way to bond as a cast in a picturesque tropical setting is to experience a private theater together, complete with wine, popcorn, Q&As, and even some (implied) doobie. What, like you’re not going to smoke up with Cheech Marin?!
“Shotgun Wedding” stars Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel as a married couple-to-be whose wedding party is suddenly taken hostage by Balinese pirates. Marin and Sônia Braga play Lopez’s divorced parents; D’Arcy Carden is Marin’s girlfriend, while Jennifer Coolidge and Steve Coulter are Duhamel’s parents and Lopez’s in-laws. Lenny Kravitz is Lopez’s ex, with Selena Tan, Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, and Alberto Isaac rounding out the ensemble cast.

Prime Video’s romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding features two actors very familiar with the genre, although this rom-com appears to be much more action-oriented than lovey-dovey. Do people still say lovey-dovey? Anyhow, the latest trailer shows the chaos that erupts after Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel’s wedding is interrupted by armed intruders.
The cast also includes Jennifer Coolidge (who just won a Golden Globe for her performance in The White Lotus), Sonia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan, and D’Arcy Carden. Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, Steve Coulter, Alberto Isaac, and Lenny Kravitz also join Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel for some rom-com action-thriller fun.
Jason Moore directed from a screenplay by Mark Hammer. Lopez, Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman, Alexander Young, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina produced.
Shotgun Wedding will premiere on Prime Video on January 27, 2023.

Prime Video released the second trailer for the film on Jan. 11, and it shines a spotlight on the movie's supporting cast, especially Jennifer Coolidge as Duhamel's character's hilarious mom.
The film, written by Mark Hammer, will hit Prime Video on Jan. 27 and follows Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Duhamel), whose families are taken hostage at their destination wedding. According to a description from Prime Video, the R-rated comedy is a "hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones - if they don't kill each other first."

Jennifer Lopez has had a recent run of weddings lately. She starred in the rom-com with Owen Wilson titled, Marry Me. She had just gotten married to on-again, off-again boyfriend Ben Affleck. And now, Amazon Prime Video releases the new trailer for her new action comedy with Josh Duhamel called Shotgun Wedding.
The official Amazon synopsis reads,
In Shotgun Wedding, Darcy (Jennifer Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel) gather their lovable-but-very-opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding, just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage. “’Til Death Do Us Part” takes on a whole new meaning in this hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones—if they don’t kill each other first.

Most wedding registries look like they’re copied straight out of a Macy’s catalog, stocked with essentials to help newlywed couples start this new chapter of their lives on the right foot. But in the trailer for Shotgun Wedding, Darcy (Jennifer Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel), are in need of much heavier artillery than a set of Mr. and Mrs. coffee mugs.

Today Prime Video has released a new trailer for the upcoming Jennifer Lopez film "Shotgun Wedding." Yes, JLo is in a wedding dress yet again, as she was in the recent movie "Marry Me," as well as her real-life wedding to Ben Affleck. Lopez plays a woman named Darcy engaged to Josh Duhamel's Tom, dealing with his mother, played by Jennifer Coolidge. You can practically hear the jokes in your head, can't you? A woman dealing with a nosy and bossy future mother-in-law, having wedding jitters, and from the title, maybe pregnant? It all sounds like the usual fare for a film about impending nuptials, right?
It is not, as you may have guessed from the title of this article. I don't want to spoil anything for you, but this trailer takes an unexpected turn a little under a minute in. Things are not as they seem. You think...

Jennifer Lopez has been on a huge marriage kick lately. This past year saw the release of Marry Me, a romantic comedy where she plays a pop star who marries a regular joe, played by Owen Wilson. Her real life this year also saw her marry her longtime on-again, off-again boyfriend, Ben Affleck. And now, Amazon Prime Video reveals the new trailer for Lopez’s next film, the action-romantic-comedy Shotgun Wedding. The film also stars Josh Duhamel, Jennifer Coolidge, Sônia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan, D’Arcy Carden, Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, Steve Coulter, Alberto Isaac, and Lenny Kravitz.

Nothing can go wrong on Jennifer Lopez’s big day… right?
Wrong. The “Marry Me” actress and international pop star leads Prime Video’s upcoming romantic comedy, “Shotgun Wedding,” about a bride (Lopez) and groom (Josh Duhamel) whose nuptials lead to a horrific hostage situation, and not just because of the bad buffet. The action rom-com also stars Jennifer Coolidge as Lopez’s monster-in-law who wields a massive gun and yells “nobody fucks with my family” in the trailer.
The ever-smooth Lenny Kravitz is Lopez’s onscreen ex, but it’s the international pirates who really throw a wrench into the ceremony. D’Arcy Carden, Sônia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan, Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, Steve Coulter, and Alberto Isaac round out the ensemble cast.

Jennifer Lopez straddles the action and romantic comedy genres in her next film “Shotgun Wedding,” and the first trailer promises a laugh-filled, high-octane affair. Kind of like “Die Hard” at a wedding.
Lopez and Josh Duhamel star as a couple who gather their family and friends for the ultimate destination wedding, but just as the two start to get cold feet, the wedding is crashed by Lopez’s ex (played by Lenny Kravitz) and the entire wedding party is taken hostage.
If you’ve ever wanted to see Jennifer Coolidge use a machine gun or a wedding dress get turned into a hand-to-hand combat outfit, this is the movie for you.
Armie Hammer was originally set to star before production began, but Duhamel took over the role when troubling Hammer accusations surfaced.

Fox’s The Cleaning Lady season two episode one tied up one loose end – and said goodbye to a recurring guest star – while taking away one of the thorns in Thony’s side. Up next, episode two, “Lolo and Lola,” airing on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 9pm Et/Pt. Episode two introduces Naveen Andrews as new series regular Robert Kamdar.
Fox’s official description of Kamdar says he’s “Nadia’s gregarious and charming ex-lover, who is intent on driving a wedge between Arman and Nadia. Élodie Yung returns to lead the cast as Thony. Oliver Hudson stars as FBI Agent Garrett Miller, Adan Canto is Arman Morales, and Martha Millan is Fiona. Sean Lew plays Chris, Eva De Dominici is Nadia, Faith Bryant is Jaz,...
