New Delhi, Aug 18 (Ians) Cyber-security researchers said on Thursday that more than 1.3 million users were affected by threats hiding in browser extensions in the first half of 2022.
The figure is over 70 per cent of the number of users affected by the same threat throughout 2021.
Kaspersky researchers analysed what risks innocent-looking browser extensions pose to users and the activities of cybercriminals hiding threats under add-ons.
Mimicking popular apps such as Google Translator or extensions with useful functionality like Pdf Converter or Video Downloader, threats in browser extensions can insert advertisements, collect data about users’ browsing histories and even search for login credentials.
“Even browser extensions that do not carry a malicious payload can be dangerous. For example, when the developers of these add-ons sell gathered user data to other companies, potentially exposing their data to someone who was not supposed to see it,” said Anton Ivanov, senior security researcher.

It appears that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was planting much more than a fun Easter egg in Season 4, when it put Anton Ivanov’s severed head inside a jar.
Based on new intel from one of the ABC series’ executive producers, it sounds like the groundwork was indeed being laid, in late Season 4, for the introduction of the highly unusual-looking Marvel villain known as M.O.D.O.K. Fans at the time speculated as much, seeing as Watchdogs leader Ivanov (played by Zach McGowan) had told Aida his Lmd body was “only designed for killing” — and M.O.D.O.K. stands...

This week on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Ruby’s dream to face off against the infamous Quake came true, Mack played doctor and FitzSimmons got thrown for a(nother) time loop.
Picking up right where we left off, Coulson and Talbot started scrambling through the snowy forest, and Ruby was not far behind, having found and used the same alien communication device and then suited up for a fight. Ruby had just closed in on the gents and hurled her first Chakram when Daisy arrived on the scene to give the lass a whooping.

General Hale is not doing the United States Air Force’s bidding, Phil Coulson gleans in this exclusive sneak peek from Friday’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC, 9/8c).
After Hale and her crew — including “Absorbing Man” Carl Creel as well as Anton Ivanov — craftily infiltrated the Zephyr, Coulson turned himself over to the team’s tightly wound adversary. In the clip above, Coulson arrives at his new digs inside Hale’s compound, where he proceeds to survey his host’s modus operandi, leading to an almost unspeakable conclusion. At which point Hale jumps in to fill in the nefarious blanks.

This week on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as Fitz & Co. labored to seal up the rift that had let leak bogeymen from a “Fear Dimension,” assistance came from a most unlikely source. Meanwhile, one “trap” gave birth to another, as General Hale’s alliance was revealed.
After spending much of the season playing with time, S.H.I.E.L.D. this week played with our minds — or more to the point, Fitz’s, and in turn surely duped many of us with a masterful misdirect. Now in possession of a glob of gravitonium yet unable to “fit it...

Judging by this pricy-looking penultimate episode, Marvel is planning to end this season of Shield with a bang...
This review contains spoilers.
See related Looking back at Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
4.21 The Return
And things seemed so hopeful.
Now that Shield has escaped the Framework (all but poor Mack), you’d think there would be a second to breathe. Oh hell no, things are more intense than ever..
Let’s start with the best big bad in the series’ four year history. Aida/Madame Hydra is absolutely terrifying and if the series does end after next week’s finale (please no), our team is going out on a bad guy high note. This week, Aida fully realises her humanity as she experiences heroism, love, and pain for the first time, proving herself to be the greatest and most complex threat Shield has ever faced. After...

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this week revealed details about Dr. Fitz’s ominous Project Looking Glass, which ultimately — and perhaps imminently — will serve Aida’s plan to fashion herself a skin-and-blood vessel with which to live on, in our world.
But couldn’t the same technology — whether or not Aida herself ever gets to make use of it — also afford the Framework’s kinder, gentler Grant Ward passage to the “other” side, to stay with Skye aka Daisy?

That might be something Grant, and even Daisy herself, is interested in,...

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. powered down its seven-episode Lmd “pod” on Tuesday night with a white-knuckle hour that was equal parts zombie movie, paranoia thriller, action-drama and just plain ol’ bananas, written and directed by co-showrunner Jed Whedon.
RelatedQuotes of the Week From Shield, Scandal and More
For starters, as some speculated (and then perhaps surmised, after seeing TVLine’s sneak peek), Fitz and Simmons had not both eluded being swapped out with an Lmd. Rather, the four that had been detected included Fitz. Jemma came to realize this after the two of them slipped away from Creepy Coulson & Co.

4.14 The Man Behind The Shield
As I was prepping this week’s Agents Of Shield review, I was getting ready to carp about what a generic, nothing villain The Superior is. I was getting ready to complain that even though Zach McGowan delivers a subtle, shifty eyed performance as Anton Ivanov aka The Superior, the character itself is uninspired. I mean, there the agents were, acting like Ivanov is a big bad on par with Grant Ward when in truth he is a villain that...
