It was a big night for Lainey Wilson at the ACM Awards. She opened the show with a bang and then capped her evening by winning the coveted “Entertainer of the Year” award.
Wilson opened the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards with a cover of Little Texas’s 1993 hit, God Blessed Texas, along with her own Hang Tight Honey.
The singer was up for four awards this year and won three. It continues her hot hand at the ACMs. In 2023, she was the most-nominated artist and took home the most trophies.

Wolverine is the only superhero to have a movie titled after his real name, 2017's "Logan," which we at /Film named the best "X-Men" movie. Somehow, I don't expect we'll ever be getting a Superman movie called "Clark" or a Batman film titled "Bruce." Wolverine's past is shrouded in mystery though; even he doesn't remember most of it. Is "Logan" even his real name? Yes — but it's complicated.
Wolverine was introduced without much context in 1974's "Incredible Hulk" #180 (by Len Wein and Herb Trimpe) when the Hulk makes his way to Canada and tangles with the local hero. Nothing was said about Wolverine's life outside his yellow costume, or if he even had one. When Wein was tasked with rebooting the X-Men in 1975, he reused Wolverine as part of the new line-up; since his introduction was so vague, it was easy to rewrite Wolverine into a mutant. Still, Wolverine remained mysterious,...

It could be challenging to keep track of Marvel’s upcoming slate of films and television shows. Well, we know it is a lot to take in, especially in light of the recent rumor that much of the Phase 5 and 6 MCU roadmap will be leaked at San Diego Comic-Con (Sdcc) in 2024.
There were the Hollywood strikes that caused havoc with some release schedules. Nevertheless, we have a ton of release dates for some of the MCU’s most eagerly awaited TV shows and films, like the upcoming Fantastic Four flick.

Forget Batman, forget the X-Men. The greatest rogues gallery in comics history belongs to Spider-Man. So great are his baddies that Sony continues to spend millions of dollars to launch a cinematic universe around them. And while Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom continue to get most of the attention, even B-level guys like the Spot have been elevated to big bads.
But let’s be honest, even Spider-Man comics have a few duds when it comes to bad guys. Even if we took out the horrendous mess that was the Clone Saga (and we aren’t going to take it out), Spider-Man would still have too many losers and redundant villains to count. So, here are the absolute worst of the worst in Spider-Man’s villain roster, characters so dull that they aren’t good for much besides getting killed in a crossover event.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seemingly found its new Sentry. Though it hasn't been officially confirmed by the folks at Marvel Studios, it has been reported widely that the character will appear in the upcoming "Thunderbolts" movie that is set to conclude Phase 5 of the MCU. Recently, Steven Yeun announced his departure from the film, which left the production with a pretty big problem to solve.
According to Deadline, Lewis Pullman is the man who has been tasked with solving that problem. The 30-year-old actor, best known for his work in movies like "Top Gun: Maverick" and "The Strangers: Prey at Night," is now poised to join his biggest franchise yet. Jake Schreier is directing "Thunderbolts," which is expected to begin filming in the coming months. While plot details have yet to be revealed, the Thunderbolts are not unlike DC's Suicide Squad, in that it's historically a team of villains...

Back in February, Steven Yeun was announced to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a "key role" in "Thunderbolts." Now, thanks to Robert Kirkman, it's been confirmed what Yeun's role is: Robert Reynolds/The Sentry.
The Sentry is a relatively recent creation, debuting in 2000 and created by Paul Jenkins, Jae Lee, and Rick Veitch. He's one of the countless Superman clones across comics; he has the same powerset, the flowing cape and S-insignia, he gets his powers from the sun, and he even boasts the classic alliterative secret identity (think "Clark Kent").
However, Mr. Reynolds is not all good. Afflicted with a personality disorder since he got his powers, his archenemy -- the soul-devouring shadow "The Void" -- is Reynold's own alternate personality. Now that Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) is the Hulk full-time and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) was seemingly crushed beneath Mount Wundagore, the Sentry easily slots...

Fox’s X-Men universe has certainly run the board when it comes to continuity and quality. We’ve seen incredible cinematic outings like X-Men First Class, we’ve gotten fun action-comedy romps like Deadpool, and we’ve even seen one of the most inspired comic book adaptations in recent history with the always impactful, Logan.
It’s crazy to believe that the same studio that made Wolverine the most popular X-Men member is the same studio that nearly caused Hugh Jackman to walk away from the character forever. But luckily that’s not the case as we currently have a Deadpool x Wolverine crossover movie that looks to finally be putting Jackman in his iconic blue and yellow duds after over twenty years of teasing.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the 2009 entry in the Fox universe that promised the moon but gave us… whatever this is.

Our lives would suck without Kelly Clarkson. The pop singer known for her powerful pipes was introduced to us in the first season of “American Idol” on Fox in 2002, launching a career that spans the 21st century. She won that competition, but what are the best songs she has recorded since then? Scroll down to see how we rank her greatest hits. Do you agree with our pick for her number-one song of all time?
In the years since Clarkson’s “Idol” coronation, the show has been inconsistent in delivering artists with lasting music careers, though standouts like Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson have also stood the test of time. Clarkson was actually the first “Idol” alum to win a Grammy, claiming Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (“Since U Been Gone”) and Best Pop Album (“Breakaway”) in 2006. This article contains nothing but spoilers through the most recent episode of Batwoman. We have a spoiler free review here.
With her new show, Batwoman steps into not only the CW's Arrowverse legacy, but the decades-long cross-media Batman franchise that has touched just about every aspect of American pop culture, and the show knows it. Kate Kane has only been around since 2006, but she's had a strong history of her own in that time, not to mention joining the Batfamily (or Batman Inc. if you prefer) on plenty of adventures, many of which are referenced on the show.

This June, The Sentry is returning to the Marvel Universe, along with writer Jeff Lemire (Moon Knight) and Kim Jacinto (Avengers: No Surrender) in an all-new story!
“Having made his dramatic and unexpected return in Donny Cates’ Doctor Strange story, it was a no-brainer for us to move ahead on an actual Sentry series! And it was my great fortune that Jeff Lemire was eager to lend his talents to the project, as it will live in the sort of off-kilter headspace that his Moon Knight and Black Hammer projects exist in,” said Svp and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “And Kim Jacinto, fresh off of Avengers: No Surrender is the perfect artist to help visualize the worlds of this shining champion who’s also got a dark underbelly.”

If we're honest, the 70s was the last decade that produced a number of great new comic book characters. Sure, the 80s had some notable new faces like She-Hulk, Lobo and Booster Gold but the 70s churned out the likes of Big Barda, The Forever People, The New Gods, Swamp Thing, Luke Cage, Ghost Rider, Iron Fist, Wolverine, Punisher, Colossus, Storm, Power Girl and a host of others. When we make our way to the 90s the number of new characters that stuck tapers off dramatically with the highlights being Spawn, Hellboy and War Machine. Looking at the last decade, there are some fresh faces full of potential that may not be A-listers today but are poised to become the stars of tomorrow. Which creation of the 2000s do you think will go on to achieve A-list status? Sentry Created in 2000 by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee, the Superman reminiscent...

We hold in our hands the covers for DC Comics this March. As a child of four can plainly see, these comics have been hermetically sealed in a Cgc 9.8 slab, and they’ve been kept in a #2 mayonnaise jar under a giant pile of Christmas tinsel since noon today.
What do we have worth noting? The first fill-in artist on Justice League, although Gene Ha is certainly no slouch in that department. We also have new writers on Firestorm and Green Arrow, new backups in Justice League and Action Comics, and the DC 52 hits lucky number 7.
Shall we see who is the fariest of them all? Oh indeedy, let’s do!
As usual, spoilers may lurk beyond this point.

We hold in our hands the covers for DC Comics this February. As a child of four can plainly see, these comics have been hermetically sealed in a Cgc 9.9 slab, and they’ve been kept in a #2 mayonnaise jar under a giant stack of returned copies of Holy Terror since noon today.
What do we have worth noting? The new look of Darkseid, and we’re far enough into the new 52 books that it’s time for Batman to start crossing over in all of them. Plus Mara Jade, the red-haired assassin who fell in love with her blond-haired man she was sent to kill– oh, I’m sorry, that’s from Star Wars. This is Mera in a jade outfit. Our mistake.
Shall we? Surely!
As usual, spoilers may lurk beyond this point.
