Leading Middle East network Mbc Group has ordered an Arabic redo of “The Good Wife” set in Egypt with Tunisian-Egyptian star Hend Sabri (“Finding Ola”) in the lead role. Sabri plays a woman who returns to the legal profession after her husband, who holds a prominent public position, becomes embroiled in scandal.
Licensed by Paramount Global Content Distribution, the Arabic “Good Wife” adaptation, which is titled “Moftaraq Toroq,” is produced by Dubai-based Charisma Group.
Sabri, who in Netflix Arabic original “Finding Ola” played a happy divorcee who embarks on a journey of self-discovery after her divorce, is a top Arab world draw.
Touted by Mbc in a statement as “ground-breaking milestone” in Egyptian long-form TV, the high-end Arabic “Good Wife” adaptation is set to launch on Mbc’s Shahid premium streamer on June 2.
A previous Indian adaptation of the multiple Emmy-winning CBS series titled “The Trial” launched on Disney+ Hotstar last year.

Thomas Schlamme will be stepping down as president of the DGA when the guild convenes its biennial convention on September 18. In a heartfelt farewell address to the DGA’s members, he looked back on his four years in office, and forward to new leadership as the industry emerges from the pandemic, which he, in no small part, helped get back on its feet.
“I will be stepping down at our upcoming Biennial Convention – and look forward to a new voice leading us,” he said in his farewell address, which was sent out to members and is on the DGA website. “And though this letter is a goodbye of sorts, more than anything it is filled with gratitude to this sacred institution of folks standing up for one another.”
First elected to a two-year term in 2017, Schlamme said that “beginning my first term, we celebrated our historic 2017 negotiations, where we achieved...

We had a chance to catch up with director Carrie Preston to chat about The Good Fight Season 5 Episode 7, which was a pivotal moment for the show.
Her alter ego, Elsbeth Tascioni, doesn't appear in the installment, but talking with her, we realized how badly we want to see Elsbeth in Wackner's courtroom. It would be epic.
Read on to find out what Carrie had to say about coming back to the franchise, her thoughts on the episode, and what's up with Elsbeth Tascioni.

Select episodes focusing on Black narratives from the third season of the CBS All Access spinoff The Good Fight from Robert and Michelle King will be part of a special presentation on BET. The episodes will air on BET July 27 at 8pm Et/Pt and July 28 at 8pm Et/Pt.
The presentation will include six very timely episodes and feature the lawyers at Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart as they navigate issues spanning racial biases inside and outside of the office, political resistance, pay disparity, white privilege, voter fraud and more — all of which are and have been issues facing the country. Cush Jumbo will not be returning to “The Good Fight” when the CBS All Access show comes back for its fifth season, Variety has confirmed.
“I have had the most amazing time over the last five years working with Robert, Michelle and the crews of both ‘The Good Wife’ and ‘The Good Fight,'” Jumbo said. “I will miss them all so much, but am so excited to explore pastures new. Due to the pandemic forcing us to shut down early we weren’t able to wrap up Lucca’s story fully and so I hope if schedules allow I can return next season to do that.”
Jumbo has played Lucca Quinn since the series began, having originated the role on the mothership CBS series “The Good Wife.” She is the latest cast member to depart the show in the recent past, with Delroy Lindo having exited to star in...

“The Good Fight” still has some punches left to throw.
CBS All Access has renewed the drama for season 5, while also conceding that the current season will have to be curtailed to only seven episodes due to the coronavirus production shutdown. The seventh, and now final episode of season 4 will debut on the service May 28.
Season 4 was originally slated to last 10 episodes, but the abrupt pandemic-related halt in mid-March has forced showrunners Robert and Michelle King to re-think their plans.
“It’s been weird to not be able to finish the fourth season,” said the Kings. “It left the story in even more absurd a place than usual. So we’re thrilled that CBS All Access wants to bring ‘The Good Fight’ back for an additional season, and we know what story we’re planning to tell. It’s like getting the answers to the Sat ahead of time.”

CBS All Access shared the first trailer for the fourth season of “The Good Fight” on Monday, and Diane Lockhart is ready to get back to work.
The trailer sees Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart trying to get to the bottom of the mysterious “Memo 618,” which, as Diane explains, “seems to allow rich and powerful people not to comply with judicial rulings.”
Here’s CBS All Access’s description of the new season:
Season four of “The Good Fight” finds Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart navigating a very different landscape. After they lost their biggest client, Chumhum, and their founding partner’s name was tarnished, Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart was forced to accept an offer by a huge multi-national law firm, Str Laurie, to become a small subsidiary. Suddenly, all of their decisions can be second-guessed by the giant firm that is literally on top of them. While Str Laurie initially seem like benevolent overlords,...

One of the best drama series on television that you’re probably not watching returns for a fourth season on April 9, 2020. Yes, Season 4 of “The Good Fight” debuts on streamer CBS All Access in less than two weeks, with a doozy of an episode that sees Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) living in an alternate reality where Donald Trump was never elected, and Hillary Clinton is the current president of the United States. It’s maybe one of the finest hours of television you will see this year. Ahead of that premiere, CBS has released a trailer for the upcoming season, which you can check out below.

Exclusive: The Good Fight co-star Delroy Lindo is in negotiations to headline Harlem’s Kitchen, ABC’s Harlem family restaurant drama pilot from writer Zahir McGhee, Mandeville Television and ABC Studios. As a result, he will be leaving the CBS All Access legal drama The Good Fight as a series regular after the upcoming fourth season, which debuts April 9.
Lindo’s contract for The good Wife spinoff The Good Fight, where he plays Adrian Boseman, a name partner at Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart, is up after Season 4. According to sources, he was offered a new deal to stay and may have taken it as he loves being on the show but Harlem’s Kitchen came along, a project he became passionate about. I hear the possibility of him doing both series was explored but the potential production overlap was too great to overcome. Masters Of Sex alum Michael Sheen has been tapped to star opposite Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo and Rose Leslie on the upcoming third season of the CBS All Access legal drama series The Good Fight, set to premiere in early 2019.
In a one-year deal, he will play Roland Blum, a brilliant, charismatic and Machiavellian lawyer. He is a man of appetites – drugs, sex, you name it – who’s far more interested in winning than the niceties of following the law.
Sheen also joins The Good Fight series regulars Audra McDonald, Sarah Steele, Michael Boatman, Nyambi Nyambi and Delroy Lindo.
In Season 3, the resistance does. Diane Lockhart (Baranski) tries to figure out whether you can resist a crazy administration without going crazy yourself, while Adrian Boseman (Lindo) and Liz Reddick-Lawrence (McDonald) struggle with a new post-factual world where the lawyer who tells the best story triumphs over the lawyer with the best facts.
